My next consol is a chill out jump but im going to throw in a few back loops and a forward loop, its nice to learn on every jump. This time my mum has worked up the courage to come see me so i want to show her why i jump, show her the DZ, let her talk to a few of my friends etc, should be a good day 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Next time your on the plane to altitude check out the door at 300ft, if that doesnt scare the life out of you then nothing will. At 5k i made a joke and asked my instructor the hold on to my pilot chute (PCA i think thats called in BASE.) Sure i'd like to give it a go, but am i willing to accept the risk? No, not yet. Well im suffering from a minging hang over after getting fairly tipsy (meaning extremely drunk.) I've completed all my AFF levels! Level 8 freaked me out a bit being a hop n pop but i can definately see why people love doing them, that ground looks fairly big from there Its a great sense of achievement. Basically im lost for words after doing my first consol, knowing that they have the faith in you to throw you out solo builds so much confidence. 9 more jumps and i get my A license and a whole new world of skydiving opens up for me! 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. I didnt really pay attention to the hurricane because its America, the richest country in the world, you have shelters, transport, food, water oil, everything! Being British drinking alcohol, having a punch up, pissing in the corner of your bedroom while telling your mates you'll meet them at the kebab (another story) and basically making a complete wanker of yourself is ordinary as usual. So im prepared for events such as alcohol prices skyrocketing. I have a brew your own kit! Proper northern Ale that works out at about 16p a pint. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. A fellow AFF student at my DZ has line twists on his level 8 hop n pop, he thought it done about 7 or 8 full turns and he fixed it. Please correct me if im wrong but im sure that the bigger canopy's tend to recover better from line twists where as the smaller elliptecal(?) ones can go into a really nasty spin and put you through some trouble resulting in a chop. Your instructors have trained you and you landed fine without panic by the sounds of things, so it was obviously a good call.
