  1. All i've seen through AFF is top gear and i think it would be a very rewarding experience to try some vintage stuff :P. For example i see a lot of S/L students using rounds and i'd bloody love to go up and try one for myself. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 2. I bust me left index finger and was worried about my reaction of grabbing the risers. Turns out it hurt like hell and in retrospect it was a silly thing to do 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  3. Thats my point 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  4. Sorry if i interpreted you wrong here but it sounds like your saying that just because his parents where not educated about skydiving that they thought it was perfectly safe? My mother wont ever come see me jump because of the danger, and she knows jack 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  5. RealTV is put on at times when young kids are in bed 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  6. This video wasnt on a website aimed at adults or skydiving, it was a site that could be viewed by kids and anybody. I appreciate you dont like what i done but i think as a whole it was the right thing to do, if i had kids i wouldnt let them see that regardless of the "no close ups." I think you just have an unhealthy fascination with death. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  7. Exactly 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  8. I was the one who got it removed, if you wanna watch it then find it elsewhere, like www.ogrish.com Personally i didnt see what was "wacky" about that video And Dog i dont agree with your point in not locking them up. They put a kid at risk who was 11 years old. The parents had very little regard for his safety in my opinion if they put him up there and with that absence of mind im wondering if they would even have the ability to feel guilt, its child neglect at the very least and in my opinion they do need locked up 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 9. I got an e-mail from them and they are removing it and blaming it on the philipino's who update the site 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  10. Andy said it, if infact this was an 11 year old kid, i'd give the parents life in jail. Poor f*cking kid 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  11. Im no jumpmaster but in my AFF there was a guy who injured himself in Spain (not a fat guy, just a big fella) and totally snapped his ankle. I can't remember how long he said it took to heal but he was a positive person from what i saw. Failed his level 4, was still chuffed because it was his first jump in ages, went up again and passed. Im just wondering if that kind of attitude is rare 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  12. I can see it now, the north pole boogies On a serious note: Thats looked nearly impossible and scary to judge altitude. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  13. Is there a common practice of putting the RSL on either right or left? or is it totally up to you? Also i've noticed that a lot of the 3 rings on many of the rigs i've seen are tiny. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  14. Its not a negativity problem as someone else said. You've got a lot of jumps under your belt and still on AFF. Thats gotta be really disheartening and frustrating. Chin up and hit the wind tunnel Best of Luck 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  15. From what i can could see, if the cable was too long then only one side of your risers would come away, leaving you hanging from only your left risers. Im just wondering if that would still pull your reserve out if you had RSL. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  16. Being a student and paying through my nose i'd hate to be made to pay for another canopy. Especially when you consider that he/she probably didnt even pack it. Just imagine if someone had a mal and thought it landable only to end up seriously injured with the thought of "hmmm i can't afford a canopy of my own yet let alone one for this DZ" 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 17. Just take everything your instructor tells you as gospel, dont question it and remember it. It really is as simple as that mate. Me being a ten jump wonder can't really comment at all, but it took me a scarey ride on my back spinning to finally figure out how to relax, once you truly relax in skydiving, the rest just comes to you. Best of Luck
  18. hahaha Mike, i was at the DZ ALL day today and the wind just wouldnt let me play. I was really looking forward to making note of what height pull time was. I did have fun messing around with the practice harness, one of the guys pulled the cutaway and told me to fix it, but now thats got me thinking about what would happen if the left cable was a little bit too long and you only had partial riser release, and would the RSL pull the reserve if that happened. There truly is soooo much to learn and think about in this sport. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  19. My DZ is flat, and when i say flat i mean it. On my first consol i remember looking down at 6k thinking "Oh my god thats getting big, quickly! oh god hurry up 5k im scared!" So far i've done 2 consols and im having the best time of my life playing in the sky, as i said, i stop at about 6-7k by myself and look at my alti rather than the ground and alti. Its kinda bugging me a bit as to why i dont use both as reference, wanna smack myself in the head 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 20. To be perfectly honest i had my audiable set to economy and wasnt sure if it would work like it should because i hadnt played with it in a while, it was set to beep at 6k to stop me working but as i said, i stopped at 7k (yes im a wimp who likes the comfort zone). I totally agree with you and i think im going to take it out on my next jump, i dont really want to become dependent on a backup this early in the sport, that can only mean trouble. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  21. Thats a great idea! Only i am a paranoid alti watcher, on the way up, to help my nerves i just watch my alti and i try not to (i even look at the others.) I think its all going to come with time and experience, i still think the hardest battle in skydiving is learning how to relax. 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 22. Ok this may sound a bit silly but i just done jump number 10 and as i was laying in bed thinking about it and i realised that not once can i remember the ground during freefall, i didn't look at it. I had a nice exit, nailed a backloop, a few 360's and a bit of a forward track. I stopped working at about 7k and clock watched until wave off at 5k. My thinking here is what if my altimeter broke? I just bought a pro track so the odds of both breaking are slim to say the least (pro track rocks btw) but they are backup devices not to be relied on. Does anyone else here tend to not look at the ground? Because im thinking now that on my next jump im going to make a point and teach myself what pull height looks like, not what my altimeter tells me. Just a thought
  23. After you complete your 8 AFF levels here in the UK you need to perfrom 10 consolidation jumps to practice what you have learnt. I have 9 more and a written test before i get my A. Its a magical feeling jumping on your own :) 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
  24. My neighbor told my mum to fuck off when i was walking around the corner and the dog had already bitten my grandads hand. i went absolutly crazy at him and he shit his pants, i've never seen a grown man shake 1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. 25. I didnt personally, im saving the money for my last consol jump to be filmed. But a guy i met the other day at the DZ said he got his filmed, simply because he didn't know if he would like it and want to do it again. A pessimistic angle but i really never even thought about not enjoying it
