  1. I agree. Though the rest of the world needs China at this point. So, nobody can force them to do anything, cause they really have no recourse. Just like the whole world really doesn't do anything about Gitmo. Cause there is no recourse at this point. Countries as well as large corporations tend to only fight fights they think they can win.
  2. The title of this thread is incorrect. The premise of the petition is incorrect. There is no hunt on baby seals. Signing the petition is infinitely stupid, since you are asking for people to stop doing something they aren't doing to begin with.
  3. As shown by the fact that she devotes to a particular person (her child) she is employed. If you want to call her unemployed because no one emplys her, well then you have to go by the definition of the government, which would then exclude her since she is not actively looking. I know it is hard to understand that one word could have multiple definitions. Chosing one particular definition does have its consequences and kind of forces you to compare apples to apples.
  4. That definition doesn't support your statement. A stay at home mom is certainly not jobless. Further employed come from to employ, defined as: Main Entry: 1em·ploy Pronunciation: im-'ploi, em- Function: transitive verb Etymology: Middle English emploien, from Middle French emploier, from Latin implicare to enfold, involve, implicate, from in- + plicare to fold -- more at PLY 1 a : to make use of (someone or something inactive) b : to use (as time) advantageously c (1) : to use or engage the services of (2) : to provide with a job that pays wages or a salary 2 : to devote to or direct toward a particular activity or person Looks like only one definition has pay or wages involved with it. A mother could easily fall into one of the other definitions making her employed. Now it all comes down to deciding if your sister is uneducated or a stay at home mom is employed. Your choice
  5. And that is exactly it. In a country of over 1 billion people, with a very secrative judicial system, it could be very beneficial to kill a couple of million for their organs and would be relatively easy to hide. Specially since the Chinese have already decided that the gap between rich and poor is too big and they ahve to do something to stifle social unrest.
  6. To follow those laws every patron would be required to take a breathalizer test before being served each individual drink. That is the only way to really know if you are over serving. The laws are in place to make some one other than the drinker responsible when shit hits the fan. How would you have felt if you got arrested while binge drinking to get your ring? How does it feel to be a criminal, since I am sure you have been intoxicated before outside of your house? Now that you are a criminal, will you give up your career in law enforcement?
  7. I don't agree. There is a great deal of volunteer work that can be done with great benefits to society. Further, it is those teenage years where being their for your kids has the greatest impact.
  8. An excuse for what? Spending time with her children? Being there for her family? Not driving that flashy car they could afford with two incomes? Not having that extra vacation or maybe even not have vacation at all? Living in a smaller house? There are sacrifices to be made for the benefit of having a parent stay home with the children. Raising and being around children 24 hours a day is not easy. You can't close your office door, or call in sick if you just want to get away from it for a second. If your sister calls herself unemployed than she is also uneducated. If she isn't actively looking for a job, she is also not unemployed. Calling a spade a spade.
  9. Then it could be that it was imploded for a specific reason?
  10. How exactly did WTC 7 fall though? You come up with a lot of other questions and mockery, but not once have you answered that question.
  11. Never said it was. I know people who work two full time jobs. Is that bull to? Does that make one an experience? Having and raising children is a full time job. It is not an experience, it is hard work.
  12. if a woman has 3 children than being a full time mother isn't so hard to envision.
  13. Why signs reading "trespassers will be shot" are not illegal?
  14. I find it very intrusive, much more so than any banner ad or "skyscraper" ad. It makes it a lot more personal, specially since it automatically "alters" the text a forum user types. Makes me wonder what will happen when there area couple of accidents with ill made product from Aerodyne. Will it automatically alter the text in the posting in the incident forum? You ahve already sold the words used by posters, not a big stretch to sell the meaning of it as well. To me, content of the site has taken a hit in the credibility department.
  15. Wow... Icon is automatically hyperlinked. This website is starting to lose its credibility. Pretty soon accident reports with Aerodyne products in it will be automatically purged or edited.
  16. There is no cause and effect relationship. That wasn't the point.
  17. And if "society" (including the women's right movement/feminists) are okay with that, then they also have to accept difference in other fields. Ie wages, different cost for similar products/services etc etc.
  18. I thought you said you didn't see the connection? Obviously I used an outrageous example to prove a point. But, if you have no objection to this lady not getting punished as severely as a man would have been. Then really, you should also have no objection to women earning lower wages. You can't demand equality on one side, but not take it on the other side. Well, you could, but it would make you a hypocrite.
  19. That is exactly it. Where is the women's rights movement now? Where are the feminists demanding equal treatment for men and women in this case?
  20. I think you may need to put on a different pair of glasses from time to time. Your rose coloured ones are a bit blinding.
  21. I don't, but I also don't believe in the US's stance on guns. It has been mentioned here time and time again that guns are needed to protect life and property in the US. This case seems to be exactly that. A guy protecting his hard worked property after multiple warnings to an offender. Teenagers these days can be very violent, so an argument could be made that he feared for his life, or his property. In several states protecting your property is reason enough to shoot some one, or so I have been told on here. At this point I don't know if this happened in one of those states. In summary. I don't agree with it, but this seems what the system is designed to do. I personally don't understand anybody from the pro-gun side being upset about this.
  22. I think this case is a prime example/reason why women should make less for working the same job. They also serve less time for doing the same crime.
  23. Quite the shot.... He must have taken some lessons from Canadian snipers
  24. The man was protecting his property. Teenagers these days can be very violent and he obviously felt very frightened. Isn't this what the gun laws are for in the US? Isn't it to protect life and property? Sounds like the system is working exactly how it should. The boy was wanred multiple times not to tresspass, eventually he paid the price for it. Just the consequences of his actions.
  25. Nothing but admiration for your attitude. Good luck on the road ahead, though it sure sounds like you will do just fine
