    Unless people's greed changes, Notrth America's manufacturing base will disappear. We tend to want most things cheaper and cheaper, so we can buy more stuff. Other countries, specially developing or communist/heavy socialist countries will be able to manufacture cheaper for the forseable future...

    Stupid liberals know nothing about the economy. Cut taxes and spend as much as you can....now that is a solid financial strategy, I mean just look around, the proof is in the pudding. (if you don't eat ur pudding.....)

    What amazes me is there is an argument about whether a violent act has been committed. History will show that Bush Jr. acted out of anger and premeditation towards Iraq. Yes the violent act is the throwing of a pair of shoes by a journalist..... Common sense seems to ahve gone completely out the window. Long discussions about petty arguments, while major issue are barely being discussed. No wonder the country is sliding deeper into a shithole second by second....

    I don't understand this line of reasoning from a gun enthusiast. It is the same line of resoning used to argue that gun manufacturers should be liable for the misuse of their product. For those so against abortion, why not provided victims of rape who get pregnant an alternative? Offer to pay their medical bills, take on their babies and provide a home for those babies.

    My line for shoe throwing is when a world leader decides to invade my country because he wants to do better than Daddy. At that point my personal morals allow me to commit the ultimate violent act of throwing my shoes.

    So when a woman shows up with a gun trapped to her hip at a kids soccer game, this should be a clue that she is a mentally sound and sane person? If that is the clear standard, wouldn't all criminals start openly carrying?

    Except that a competent leader would have looked at the long term viability of his or her company. In this case, I think they actually believed they were too big and too good to really get into too much trouble. Even the mighty fall.

    With all these bail out dollars being handed out, it should be a general condition that senior leadership gets terminated. They obviously have done a piss poor job in managing and leading the companies that employ them.

    Wghat the US really needs is another 4 years with that fine Texan Genius at the helm....

    Management at all times had the option of not agreeing to the demands from the union and force a strike. They could have kept the workforce locked out until they agreed to lower wages and benefits. The appetite for that was never present with management, since they wanted to protect market share and never had the foresight to see what would happen in the long run. Plus in the short run it would have seriously impacted their performance bonusses....

    The Big Three....oops, can't call them that anymore....the Domestic Three failed because of the American mindset. The mi8ndset often seen on these boards as well. The: We are American and we are the best in the world and we know everything better mindset. I mean,they took Hummers and Escalades to the Paris auto show. They are so far out of touch with what is happening in the real world, that any form of bail out could not help them. I don't support giving them money, but if money is given it should come with the condition that all senior management gets fired.

    I couldn't agree more. Than why does the US keep borrowing money from countries where the wealth is being earned? Why go to China, where the money is being earned, to borrow money for adventures that are not turning a profit? To me that is the same as wellfare, but on a global scale.

    The Bush family made a large part of their wealth from dealing with the Nazi's during WWII. Do you condemn that as loudly or are you a nazi?

    That one should elect a leader who is a bit brighter than Joe Six Pack. But, most in the international community have known that for 8 years now. Cause with some better fiscal management the rest of the world won't have to lend you trillions of dollars.
