  1. no sarcasm in this post....the other ones don't seem to have odd sarcasm, just sarcasm. Yes, he would get off free in Canada. The dad would probably not be so lucky. There has to be an age limit to when we decide human beings are liable for their own actions. If this kid completely understood the consequences of all his actions, why don't we allow him to vote, to drink, to buy cigarettes etc.
  2. That lawsuit has to do with racial issues, not forcing the bank to give loans to people who could not repaay it.
  3. In general I think it is. Though there is quite abit of debate as to whether or not 10 and 11 year old kids truly have a firm understanding of their actions and consequences.
  4. yes but as a staunch conservative he has to believe that the government is at fault. It would break his basic belief structure if a free market had anything to do with this economic downfall.
  5. First of all, the 40 people are just collateral damage and just a small price to pay for our beautiful constitution. Plus, if any of those forty were armed with a gun, none of this would have happened. Who cares that a deranged guy could get guns? Bad guys will always have guns, so the point is that we need bigger guns to defend ourselves. Secondly, market forces will obviously make sure that the store that sold those guns will go bankrupt.
  6. I think the 2nd amendmend should not be restricted at all, in any way shape or form. The 2nd Amendmend does not put limits on what types of guns or weapons can be owned. Everything and anything should be available. If a person can afford it, they should be allowed to buy it. There shouldn't be any background checks. If that was the intent of the 2nd Amendmend, they would have put it right in there. If they have the money, they should be able to buy it. Free market forces will do the rest. If a company ends up selling a gun to a deranged person, who ends up killing 40 people with it, well common sense will dictate that people won't buy from that store any more and they will go out of business. See, less restrictions is better, we don't need the fucking government to tell us what we can and can't do. We can all make our own decisions, and clearly we will always make the best one possible. That coupled with free market forces will ensure that everything will always be fine.
  7. I don't care....I just go by what the NRA tells me. By the way, where do you jump?
  8. Fuck the bailiff. I am excercising my 1st amendmend rights, don't make me excersize my 2nd amendmend rights as well.... Thus confirming my point. The Court has ruled. Do I have to signal the bailiff? Sit down.
  9. Just a quick question: Who agreed to those union demands?
  10. not at all. Merely pointing out that using the government to take the place of parents is not a good thing.
  11. In Canada both those kids could not even be charged with a crime....
  12. Why did the Canadian Tax payers have to pay for what your parents should have done?
  13. So, what happens when that second job disappears and you cannot find a new one?
  14. Ohh bullshit. The only reason the economy is in the crapper is because to some degree people need to be protected from themselves. Staunch Republicans and conservatives will never admit that, but that is the only reason we are all in the situation.
  15. Come on, it is abundently clear that guns have made the US safe. And, as originally intendend it has kept rogue governments out of governing...okay, well maybe that one is open for debate... Anyways, can't you see that having guns around has clearly made the US much safer than most if not all other Western Countries. Just go to, lets say an area in LA with the highest number of guns in circulations, like south central and go for a nice summer evening after dinner stroll at around 10 pm. Don't you all know that an armed society is a polite society?
  16. Switserland, the most beautiful country in the world.
  17. The US is far from having the "best medical care in the world." It's only the most expensive. If that were true, the rich wouldn't be coming to the states for medical treatment. Seems facts may not entirely be agreeing with you: A forecast by Deloitte Consulting published in August 2008 projected that medical tourism originating in the US could jump by a factor of ten over the next decade. An estimated 750,000 Americans went abroad for health care in 2007, and the report estimated that a million and a half would seek health care outside the US in 2008. The growth in medical tourism has the potential to cost US health care providers billions of dollars in lost revenue.
  18. In theory it works that way, in practice that is just not true. If you think it would actually work that way, then you are somewhat naive.
  19. He doesn't care about facts....somebody is getting killed and when that happens, facts are just a little nuisance that could get in the way of his happiness.
  20. Asked and answered. Sorry if it's not something you've been able to grasp. I am still waiting for the explanaition of what is negative about this. You are smart enough(or at least I had the impression you were smart enough, I am starting to doubt that now) to know that bias is usually used in pejorative. So, again, what is so bad about tis situation? Has it inhibited impartial judgement?
  21. Pot... Meet Kettle. Racial Segregation of Native Peoples in Canada My work firewall blocks the website that links too. I'll have to look at it from home. But, I'll certainly agree with you that Canada is far from perfect. I would be the last to stick my head in the sand and say that it doesn't happen....
  22. I fully agree with you on the union issues. Useless way of making everything more expensive....
  23. Doesn't change my statement, nor the fact that, at least until very recently, segregated proms were taking place. By the way, for this century, you can add Georgia to the list as well.
  24. were is the liberal loving media now? a few months back they filled the air waves with shit about how Palin was vetted and now when the new apointed god of the nation does the same we see nothing about it on the liberal news nor any voices from the left. I guess fair play doen't work in when the left is invloved. The difference is in the admitting you screwed up part. The Republicans kept saying that they knew exactly what they were getting with Palin. As she kept screwing up, that seemed less and less likely. That was the story.
  25. In stead of just stopping them from calling you and paying a little bit when you can, I would suggest being a bit more proactive about it. There are numerous companies that can help with reducing and consolidating debt. They are generally pretty good and can save you significant amounts of money in the long run. Wouldn't it be nicer when the debt collectors stop calling cause you are paying it off in stead of running from it?
