Why Pilots Should Not be Allowed Firearms on Planes
SkyDekker replied to Gawain's topic in Speakers Corner
Bonfire is filled with statements about grabbing tits, spanking asses, sex, fucking, shitting in bath tubs, drug use, stupid human tricks and the like.... Are you very hesitant meeting any of them? Words can become deeds you know..... -
I find that a weak argument. Your current president may have had some experience, but has has also bankrupted a large number of companies and organizations he was ever associated with. Is any experience better than little experience in your books? I don't think McCain is fit to be President. His stupidity on foreign affairs is shocking. The fact that many will still vote for him is even more shocking.

question about McCain as Republican nominee
SkyDekker replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
Except that McCain has proven that when it comes to the biggest foreign affairs issue he is absolutely clueless. Is that really what you want in a president? -
So, do you think a dress code will reduce crime? Different pants will lead to a lowered desire to be a punk? Secondly, you want the government to make your parenting job easier?

Racism & Obama's Speech on March 18th, 2008

Racism & Obama's Speech on March 18th, 2008
SkyDekker replied to PLFXpert's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes. I don't really care what Mitt's preacher has to say. (I do care when people say they hear God talking in their head) Tell me, will you vote for McCain knowing he is oblivious and utterly stupid when it comes to Iraq? -
I am not sure a fear of falling is as ingrained as you say it is. Both my kids never displayed this fear at an early age. They have since learned that falling hurts and voila......

Racism & Obama's Speech on March 18th, 2008
SkyDekker replied to PLFXpert's topic in Speakers Corner
because I think statements by the politician are more important than statements by a politician's preacher.....or at lest the preacher of the church the politician attends. McCain in recent statements has shown he has a complete lack of understanding about what is going on in Iraq. He has shown IMHO stupidity. Don't YOU think that is a bit more an important issue than Obama's preacher? -
Racism & Obama's Speech on March 18th, 2008

And if you ask McCain about HAMAS, he will likely tell you that the US is doing great work in Afghanistan reducing HAMAS' numbers and eradicating their terror. -
Racism & Obama's Speech on March 18th, 2008

three pages of response on the issue of Obama's preacher saying something offensive. Hardly any response to a thread pointing out how obviously oblivious and stupid McCain is, based on his own comments. And you wonder why the US is in the state it is in now. -
Better risk - reward balance in commercial real estate. Little capital floating around In many cases there is such an abundance of real estate available, that is is almost impossible to sell. I know this sounds odd, but would you buy a condo in a building that is sitting empty.....with three other empty buiildings sitting beside it. People don't want to sell at a loss and can't afford two properties at the same time. Different and tighter mortgage standards for investment properties, even if they are residential General lack of confidence in the market. Many may feel that the housing market will drop quite a bit more.

To me it is completely incomprehensable that the Presidential Candidate for the Republican party has such a profound lack of understanding of what is going on in Iraq. This is not somebody misspeaking, this is a statement that shows he doesn't have a clue about what is going on. What I understand even less, is that most people who will vote for him could care less. How can you keep voting for people who are obviously oblivious and stupid?

I don't think these are situations that can be explained with the "logic", "emotions" and "feelings" that would be used in a "regular" relationship. Many of these women have already given up a lot, if not everything in their own lives. They are defined by their husbands (mostly public) lives. In many cases I don't even think love has anything to do with it any more. Many are almost more in the form of business relationships than anything else.
-
Many of thee women have given up everything in their lives to support their husbands. It must be hard to then give up the only other thing that has defined them for decades.

ING has one of the better high interest savings products. No fees, no minimums and high interest on every dollar you deposit. They are completely legit (as mentioned before, one of the largest financial companies in the world). As a matter of fact, I would give them money over most investment and brokerage houses right now lol

Why should you learn English if you immigrate to the US?
SkyDekker replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
In trying to find out how many people still use Esperanto I found out that there are actually some native Esperanto speakers. Most notably amongst them is George Soros. Also led me to Lojban and the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. Some very interesting stuff. -

Now there is a failed idea lol I wonder how many people still speak that. -

Spanish I took last, with the background in french and latin at the time I found it easier. However I think that had more to do with timing than anything else. -
Why should you learn English if you immigrate to the US?
SkyDekker replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree. In Holland I took the following languages in High School: English Dutch German French Latin Greek Spanish English was by far the easiest language out of that group. (Though obviously exposure to the language through TV, music and movies plays a role) -
If men need an excuse to have steak and/or a BJ, they need to find themselves a better woman.
-
Yeah but it isn't a problem. You just give more tax breaks and more money back to the tax payers and the whole issue is solved....

Am I the only one that finds it really funny that the OP posts a thread about how immigrants should learn English. Then in his second post he doesn't know how to spell an english word? -

Desire was outstanding, though make sure you understand the resort before you book They actively discourage swimming in the ocean along that stretch of the beach. There are indeed some very strong undertows that seem to kill a couple of people every year. We did go in the ocean to play with the waves, but never deeper than our knees. If ocean or beach is very important then Desire Cabo shouldn't be on your list. We are off to Desire Cancun on Monday, where apparently the beach and ocean are much better.
