Fire extinguishers banned as a fire safety hazard
SkyDekker replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
Interestingly enough it is likely that the attitude displayed in this posting is exactly why they have decided to advocate removing the extinguishers. -
His point was that since I am not American I am not allowed to voice an opinion on American Politics. You agree with him. Since both you and him don't work for Fox and are not Beck, why the hell are you posting on this thread?
-
Why? The RainX on my windshield is extremely effective at keeping it clear. Why are you in favour of te government telling me what to do? Plus if I am not hitting anybody and I am not speeding, why do you care if my windshield wipers are working in the rain?
-
That would prove my point lol

Interesting to read the replies from the last three posters. Since all three replies also mean the free market principle doesnt work. Which is something I would not have expected from those particular posters. Personally I think any property owner can decide what they want to have sold or not sold on their property. If you make money of city "private" property, they should be able to dictate what you can and cannot sell. Which is different from what you can or cannot consume. I don't think there should be a ban on suger or fat or transfat or anything along those lines. I do think there should be a requirement for labelling and nutritional information.

Actually if you followed along you would have noticed I was getting "dogged on" for talking about American politics. The line you posted is clearly a tongue in cheek "explanation" as to why I as a non-american would be allowed to interject my opinion here. I noticed by the way that JR's email must have gotten some dyslexia and replaced emails from the NRA by emails from the National Soda Association.

Which is why I said both need to take place. You don't have a little deficit problem and you don't have a little debt problem. You have an outrages deficit problem and an outrages debt problem, one that has been building for well over 40 years.

One of your esteemed politicians is going beserk over a cut of $50,000. If you think you can get out of the predicament you are in without raising taxes, you are part of the reason you are in the situation you are in.
-
Oh, I know what is wrong with the US economy. Bad oversight and continually raising expenditures while cutting taxes. Your country is on the edge of bankruptcy and your population thinks its time for more tax cuts. You guys are so incredibly preoccupied with blaming eachother and pointing fingers. Nobody is willing to work towards a solution, with the main problem being that people think every body but them should pay. Unless the US dramatically cuts spending and significantly increases taxes on all levels, you will soon be nothing more than a footnote.

Lol, the last one spoke like he used hooked on phonics combined with your writing.

You're posting on an internation website hosted on Canadian servers. Typical American arrogance to make it all about yourself

And was known to want to kill himself, yet still had access to guns. The why he still had legal access to guns is still main question. The question as to if this would have taken place without access to legal guns becomes unwinnable. Common sense would dictate that the harder it is for a suicidal loonie to have access to guns, the harder it is for this to take place in Holland.

Classy all the way around!!

Where I live, absolutely!!! Much better than most if not any other Western country and certainly much better than the US. Lol, I know it's tough having to realize there are places outside the USA.

Lindsey Graham demands more government spending
SkyDekker replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, everybody is for cuts in spending, unless it affects them off course. The US can only be saved by significant cuts in spending and significantly increased taxes. Everybody will be affected, they will be even more affected if it doesn't happen. You are getting very close to Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, etc and being unable to pay your debt load. -
Now that he has stopped talking, he does appear to be a little smarter. (You'll have to explain how Obama is my dumbass. Our politcians might be ...well politicians, but they have kept our economy in decent shape, which is exactly what I want them to do)
-
Really? Cause your quote says absolutely nothing about loonies. (Which is exactly why lax gun laws are being cited as a reason for this happening)
-
They're all in the bar complaining about the Mexicans.
-
Impossible. You happily voted for an unqualified dumb ass before that....TWICE
-
I know you meant this sarcastically. However, this is seen as the main reason for this incident taking place. The shooter had a license for the gun used (and others in his possession), and also a known history of mental illness, including a 10 days hospitalization in a closed mental institution (meaning he would not have been able to leave out of his own will). There are now many questions as to how this guy was able to keep his license and access to legal guns.
-
Sigh, I never stated that position. Never mind, having a discussion with you is just not feasible. You just make shit up ass you go along.

Somebody does a rolling stop at a stop sign and gets pulled over for this. Officer smells alcohol. Did the rolling stop happen because of the alcohol, or does this person do a rolling stop sober as well? Should the person be written up for a DUI. What if they drive perfectly well at that BAC? Your position is unworkable. Restrictions have to be in place at certain levels. Do you believe there should be security check points prior to boarding an airplane?

The ease with which mortgages were handed out based on no or simly made up information proves my point. This is simply near impossible to do in Canada. if you want to call that a rare exception, then you are showcasing the mentality which has driven the current crash and will drive the next one. Mortgages are very tightly regulated, the financial sector is very tightly regulated (it's no surprise there are far fewer banks in Canada as well, many of them now owning US banks, thank you for that!!). China and India did pretty good. Canada's economy ranks anywhere from 8th to 12th in the world, dependent on measurement used.
-
Because countries with stronger regulation faired significantly better. The problem is you had/have extremely limited regulation in place. And those regulations that were in place were hardly being enforced. Take a look at Canada, there is a reason our financial institutions came through that much better.
