  1. Why would a right winger get upset about somebody making money? Isn't that exactly what a good capitalist is supposed to do?
  2. True, but that doesn't establish what the subject is. When people say they wish the Obama Administration dies in the next election, do they really mean all Americans die after the next election?
  3. Why don't you make a prediction too? I am sure you will be digging up, with glee, some of these posts if they do not come to fruition. At least be able to say "I told you so" and not only, gee guess you were wrong a year ago.
  4. In this case when I typed the people's money, I emant tax dollars, not deposits. I have no issue with banks making profits, I was responding to a (maybe rhetorical) question from Jerry. If you want to extrapolate additional meanings and motives from that, enjoy. Winsor, understood. Also think it makes for a flawed system, though very capitalist. Like privatising domestic financial policy.
  5. Both do. The government, well that one is obvious. The banks do by taking massive amounts of the people's money to create profits for themselves and their owner's The banks do by taking a stance that as an industry they are too big to fail as an industry.
  6. I'm thinking translations out of context are like surveys, they can be manipulated to mean anything.
  7. Actually I already corrected it, you just missed it.
  8. I thought they got advanced driver training?
  9. I asked for a number. What should minimum wage be according to you. And I would be more than happy for minimum wage to regain the "real" value, with maybe 1935 as a base year?
  10. And what according to you should be the number?
  11. Productivity per person would go up, total productivity of the company would not go up. Investment in further automation would go up as well, would replace as many peple as I possibly could to get better cost certainty. Or would just move the company to Bangladesh.
  12. You are wrong in your argument, whether or not Ford was right in raising the pay of his decreased workforce 60 years ago. From a business perspective if teh government forced a doubling of minimum wage, I would fire half my staff and force the other half to work twice as hard. Result, productivity up, unemployment up, Economy in tank.
  13. In all fairness, a devaluation of the US Dollar is exactly what the US needs to deal with their debt load. However, raising minimum wage is not the way to go about it.
  14. Petty stuff really. Most people wouldn't know the difference and in common terms there isn't much of a difference. Same as Holland and The Netherlands as far as I am concerned.
  15. I am not about to reveal how I know these things. It will just have to stand as an unsupported allegation.
  16. Issue is that it is more than just now and again, and not only career criminals.
  17. The problem is that in order to raise the incredible amount of money needed to run for office, candidates have to "sell their soul". I am sure many start down the road with great intentions and ideas, but soon find out that to get to the finish they have to leave those intentions behind.
  18. In that case it cannot be a problem. Only? Anyways, in the case of the USSR. They bankrupted themselves trying to keep up with Joneses on a world stage. The US is bound to do the same, though it more likely will be titled keeping up with the Lees.
