  1. Lol *It is illegal to sell beer in a private sale. *It is legal to sell a firearm in a private sale. (In the end they are different products, most people understand that different products can be treated differently)
  2. Costs have already risin, or are projected to rise? Companies have already dropped employee coverage or companies say they might, would, could, what if, etc.?
  3. What has happened now, that was predicted to happen years later?
  4. And to efefctively do that you need cooperation from all parties. This is often accomplished through discussions that are reaonable and thoughtful, with all parties willing to work towards a solution. That clearly isn't going to work.
  5. That is a lot of what-ifs, coulds and woulds.
  6. You mean by doing something legal like knocking on a door? If that is the case, wouldn't you also start a situation if you do something legal like following somebody?
  7. If the thread was about the WWF, but this one is about the NRA.
  8. Interesting you would state it like that. The armed person is simply carrying a tool. It is the actions of the person with the arms that could have helped or made the situation worse. Just having an armed person would not have made any difference. The discussion centred on effectiveness of the actions of an average armed person, not just the presence of an armed person. For somebody who is adamant about the guns are just a tool mantra, you just fell into the same trap.
  9. I wasn't and am not disagreeing with the data. Hence, there is no reason to debate it. Thank you for affirming my post.
  10. I think you missed Bill's point that by law it is illegal to sell beer in your house.
  11. Yes, the US is in a real position to boast right now Where did I say they were relevant? I thought the comment regarding giving guns for free showed quite clearly that low crime can be achieved without proliferation of guns. (Hence logically meaning guns are irrelevant to crime rate) I expected the reply from DaVinci. Thought you had better logical thinking skills.
  12. Amazing thing happened in Canada: Crime rate dropped 6% to lowest level since 1972, and the severity of crime index dropped 6%. One should keep in mind this was accomplished without handing out free guns.
  13. With a weapon you could carry concealed and at a moment you would not expect it at all? Never mind the chaotic crowd around you bumping into you etc. Another black/white only person. You and Normiss should exchange numbers.
  14. Thank you all, some great recommendations! Hope more people chime in, will then print the thread and wife and I will pick things to do....
  15. The word Obama. It would have been embraced on the right as Romney Care. Basic Marketing mistake.
  16. Clearly proof there is a God. Such a dish would not and could not exist without one.
  17. Nor were you, but then I am not the one claiming I would have made a difference.
  18. Like I said, it would shatter their belief they would have made a difference in this situation.
  19. Because it would shatter either the belief that they would be able to defend themselevs in any situation because they have a gun. Or, because it would shatter their belief that they would be a hero if confronted by something similar. No malicious intent, just basic human psychology.
  20. Current restrictions and regulations on gas cans are only preventing law abiding citizens from transporting gasoline however they want. Bad guys will transport gasoline however they want anyways, they don't care about laws and regulations. Clearly all such regulations should be removed!!
  21. It doesn't and those criminally responsible have been or will be dealt with. That doesn't mean that any other "punishment" is no longer needed. Or sanctions that will help reduce the likelihood of something smiliar happening. Or sanctions that allow a coach who facilitated this not to be in the record books. You have, I just think there is room for both. One doesn't and shouldn't preclude the other.
  22. Just not trained enough to recognize their son before they shoot them dead. Or not trained enough to put the gun away when you've been drinking. Or maybe indeed trained enough to know he might get away with murder. http://abcnews.go.com/US/york-police-captain-mistakenly-shoots-son/story?id=16837822 (what is it with LEO who want to be bikers, with the 3-piece patch and the MC cube?)
  23. I don't think it is just individuals that create a situation like this. These things tend to happen because the atmosphere is rype for it. This atmosphere is created as a sum of all its parts, which includes individuals like the couch, or the president. But, it also involves masses, like players and the fans.
