  1. Is he in for murder and on death row?
  2. I think you may be confused with the "60 day rule". Oh and it isn't a social norm either, it refers back to Article 701 of the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure.
  3. Of particular interest to me was (1) the confirmation of the socialist agenda by the ACORN founder, (2) how they used expendable blacks on the front lines for plausible deniability and, (3) racial issues are perpetuated by the liberal left. Her closing comment, "Black people are wanting someone to tell them the truth. They are just whispering among themselves." Of particalar interest to me is how people will believe anything they see on YouTube, because it fits their "view".
  4. Yes, that is why teenage gymnasts have agents, because it is about competition and national pride
  5. Interesting concept. Can we apply it to collateral damage? Like how many innocent people dying in a war is acceptable? Is an American wall worth more than an Iraqi woman?
  6. That's the thing with cheating, it is now considered ok, as long as you don't get caught. South African gold medal swimmer admits he cheated. His defence: I didn't want to lose by not cheating, since everybody cheats.
  7. So they are just like the heterosexual population then? At least with adoption, unlike birth, one can establish the type of people they are. If single people can adopt, I don't understand why gay people in a committed relationship cannot adopt.
  8. Great, so one should show ID before using the right to free speech as well?
  9. So now we went from no taxes, to some taxes. Which also means an increase in tax payments either under % or absolute increases. And then you extend your argument to those with lots of money. Maybe you can come back after dance practice?
  10. You'll have to explain your reasoning for me to understand what you are getting at.
  11. I knew most of you would comment on that part of my post, but completely ignore the abysmal reporting in the article.
  12. Only in the US would one use a fast food restaurant to fight homos. Stop being homo or I will eat at Chick-Fil-A!!!
  13. Many people who pay zero tax are struggling to survive every day. They likely don't know what leverage means, never mind using it in a macro sense as you describe.
  14. That is some piss poor journalism. There is absolutely no basis provided for their hypothesis in the first line. How do they know he was shot for that reason? There is no basis provided that this is an attack on free speech. Mogadishu is a pretty violent place and I'm pretty sure they do not have a constitutional right to free speech to begin with, so even harder to claim it is being attacked.
  15. See, logically that doesn't make sense. He already had access to explosives, but specifically chose to be present and commit the crime with guns. In his mind, he must have had a reason to use the guns in stead of the explosives. Not until you have discovered that reason can you state in any way if he would have used explosives if he didn't have access to guns.
  16. Who says the terminally ill have zero dollar incomes? Who says the permanently hospitalized have zero incomes? Who says the aged have zero dollar incomes? The point is that many of these live right on the line of bare existence. A percentage or absolute increase cannot be born by them. Clearly the everyone that Gravitymaster speaks of is completely undoable.
  17. That depends on how you quantify the problem. If your boat is sinking and you find large leak, you plug the leak and bail the water out. You don't first start worrying about why there is a leak there in the first place, that comes after you have kept yourself floating. You have now solved the problem of sinking, you have not solved the problem of how the leak got there. The US is in the same boat. While many are pointing fingers on who is responsible for the leak, the boat is sinking.
  18. 4 trained armed men, wearing body armour, sat in a cafe and were murdered by one guy with a gun Irony works many ways. http://www.cbsnews.com/2100-201_162-5824423.html
  19. Oh I think both sides are guilty of that. Isn't the act of carrying a gun often driven by the emotion of feeling safer?
  20. According to JCD, these guys are fucking geniuses who cannot be stopped. I hold to the same perspective you suggest - that they are not Einsteins and are easily deterred by people who can fight back. Unless they are aiming for death by cop, they tend to pick places where no one can defend themselves, rather than police stations or gun ranges. But they would not be deterred by having a much harder time getting guns right? Did this guy go to a theatre because he knew guns were not allowed, or was there maybe another motive to going to that theatre? Did he have a choice of going to a theatre that does allow weapons, in that area?
  21. Hopefully she was clean, but I don't put too much faith into the tests. Marion Jones is a prime example of why not.
  22. Fair enough, then what does work? Or does nothing work to address social problems?
  23. To get Paterno of the top of the records list.
  24. And I don't believe in that equivalency. If somebody takes a bag of money they find on teh street and keep it for themselves, they are a thief. If that bag of money isn't on the street, I am not convinced that same person would not rob a bank. I do agree that if somebody is hell bent on robbing somebody, they will find a way to do that. Many believe that more guns is the answer. Many believe less guns is the answer. I tend to believe a combination is the answer. But, my answer/proposal/solution would impose further restrictions on the 2nd Amendment, which for many would make it a "non-starter" in the US.
