How am I supposed to make people think like me? Nobody is harmed by driving through a red light. There is already a law against hitting somebody else with your car. Clearly most traffic laws can be scrapped. Nobody being harmed by me driving 200mph Nobody being harmed by me not having my headlights on at night Etc etc. The thought is wonderfully utopian though.

    Oh, only 20 mass shootings a year. For a second I thought the US had a problem with mass shootings...but there are only about 2 a month. Who cares about those pesky shootings were only 3 people die. Fucking amateurs don't deserve any recognition.

I read it as (there is a rough tendency that) people voted for their own personal self interests and the results are aligned. how about that, self interests are driving (voting) behavior rather than some idealized falsehood of people trying to be all community minded or benevolent or anything else? IMHO - if legislation results like this become more and more drawn across demographic dividing lines, rather than for the general good, we can start to be very clear that neither party has to overall welfare of the people in mind, just their members only at the expense of the other. But we all already know that. Interesting I read it as: Those who have vocally defended Obama are self-reporting on a website that it is working for them. Those who have vocally opposed Obama are self-reporting on a website that it is not working for them. I don't see a big surprise here, but I also doubt any of it is based on reality.

    I get a kick out of the same people saying that a country should be arun as a business, who then say that no investments should be made. Some are going to work, some are going to be failures, some won't make any sense until 30 years from now. (Never mind that countries and businesses just aren't the same thing.)

    Warming of the Arctic was predicted some time back to cause instability of the jet stream. Usually the jet stream confines the polar vortex to the high Arctic. However, due to Arctic warming the polar vortex has been able to move south leading to the current cold spell. Source? Please not ex post facto. Eat crow. (Source is from 2012) RIGHT . . . those studies aren't backed by ANY agenda. You are funny. An alarmist, but funny nonetheless. Its a site that is dedicated to proving Climate Change. They will absolutely find what they are looking for if they want to. Did the website do the study though? Did the website fund the study? Obviously a website with an agenda is going to post research that collaborates their viewpoint. However, that doesn't mean the research is flawed by definition. Almost the reverse of don't shoot the messenger.

The Pope is christian and succesful as well, but when he starts advocating marrying 15 year olds, I am going to call him an idiot....and not because he is christian and successful.
