  1. yeah it is fun to get suited up once in a while last time I wore a suit was Mark and Andrea's wedding
  2. As I understand it (and I welcome correction if I'm wrong), the underinflated balls were only used in the first half. The second half was played with "good" balls. And the Patriots destroyed the Colts in the second half. So even if they did cheat (and I believe they did) it didn't affect the final outcome of the game. So if they are found "guilty" then they will most likely face a fine or loss of draft picks, just like last time. Perhaps a game or two suspension for Brady or Belichick. At least that's what the press is saying. I think if you look at fumble stats before 2006 and after 2006 for the Patriots you might see an interesting trend. In 2006 Brady was one of the big voices lobbying the NFL to allow each team to bring their own footballs. I doubt this was a one off mistake.
  3. So Bush should be forgiven for starting the war, but Obama should be villified for not ending it sooner? You don't think you are slightly biased?
  4. Interesting isn't it. Kinder Eggs have to get banned, because they are too dangerous for children. Guns should not get banned, cause guns don't kill people. (No, I am not advocating for a gun ban, just poking fun at the logic)
  5. Well, you could prosecute those responsible. Or if you believe it was just pure incompetence of the Intelligence Agencies in question, somebody should get fired. That lie/incompetence led to the death of tens of thousands of people, including thousands of Americans. What lie/incompetence of the current administration compares to that in your opinion?
  6. I view it as any other rabid anti or pro student group. There are quite a few to choose from.
  7. Yes, clearly every muslim wants to kill Americans.
  8. You stated they only went after the info they wanted You have to prove that as you made that assurtion Were they wrong? Yes Did they lie? you might think so but you have to prove it Wendy doesn't have to prove it. The other option is that your Intelligence agencies are incredibly incompetent and have cost tens of thousands of people their lives, including Americans. If that is the case, who has been fired for that rather large screw up? Personally I give your intelligence agencies more credit than being THAT stupid.
  9. Nor in any way part of the movie. I think the movie is purposely extremely one dimensional.
  10. Which is exactly why I phrased it with the word seem. It indicates that with my knowledge, that is my opinion. It leaves the door open to: "it makes sence when you consider this, this or this". Which makes responding with: "unless you are an expert, fuck off", so silly.
  11. How was the cruise? Family and I are booked for two weeks out of San Juan this July. Actually just booked the flights today.
  12. It's a fucking tv commercial. If your kids are getting moral guidance from TV commercials, you have already lost as a parent.
  13. If your not some subway transportation expert on their particular system you would probably think this, but im sure the people making the calls are more informed than you are about the reasons to shut it down. I am sure, which is why it continued to run. You may want to look up the meaning of the word "seem".
  14. I was thinking more of evacuation advisories. We project this storm could be bad enough that unless you leave you could very well die. We project that unless we do something about this global warming, eventually sea levels could rise high enough. The first one is likely seen as good policy in light of a major threat projection. The second one is seen as fear mongering. (never mind that shutting down the subway seems like the stupidest thing to do in a snowstorm)
  15. So when does a prediction based on a projection/model go from good policy to fear mongering?
  16. Yet you have no problem with using tax funded services... Nobody likes paying taxes, but taxation is needed to run a country. To run a country? Sure. But it could be a lot cheaper to run our country than it is, that's where my problem really is in the end: waste. If they quit throwing away so much money on stupid bullshit, they can steal less money from us to try and make up for it. I get what you are saying. I just don't agree with your terminology. Cheap and value are not the same thing. Personalyl I don't think that running a country as cheap as possible should be the goal. Getting the most value out of expenditures and investments should be. Obviously I understand that value is an extremely subjective measure, which is where the arguments will always end up.
  17. Yet you have no problem with using tax funded services... Nobody likes paying taxes, but taxation is needed to run a country.
  18. directly speaking? sure, why not. but in practice? no. if the tax is something that is apparent and part of the social contract I really hate that phrase. I never got to choose if I wanted to sign that contract :P Didn't you move back to the US recently after a prolonged absence? Seems like a pretty deliberate "signing of that social contract".
