Wonder why there are still laws against drinking and driving? Clearly it still happens and clearly these laws only hurt law abiding citizens who can safely drive after a couple of drinks, or at least don't kill anybody doing it.
-
Priceless. The youtube video showing school kids fighting back against a man with two knifes has been removed because of YouTube's position on bullying and harassment. Thanks for the repost!
-
I posted the video earlier in this thread. It will get completely ignored. Only time video with knifes are used is when they show multiple fatalities, cause then it supports their need for guns.

This likely would have been a mass school shooting in the US. One of the big differences: Not so easy to get guns and ammunition in The Netherlands. https://youtu.be/i9lsVd6SY2Y

Right after lamenting about how you don't understand why the country is so divided.

Apparently, after waking up somewhat sober this morning, he is now saying he will comply.

Mental health can very easily be independent from factors such as parenting or demographics.
-
Yes, that is a truly outstanding idea for schools that can't even afford books And once again I am told why it can't happen. Are there any ideas short of tightening up the gun laws you would be in favor of...because changing the 2nd Amendment ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Spend more on social services and education for children. Stop seeing violence as strength. Stop seeing compromise as a weakness. Stop seeing mental health problems as a weakness. Give kids hope, hope for a better future. From now on, only smart guns are allowed to be sold. Ammunition for non-smart guns is taxed at 500,000% None of it will have any immediate impact. But long term it will work. Though nothing will work as well as taking away the easy availability of guns.

Agreed!

I understand the sentiment (and didn't find the delivery particularly offensive). After all, they likely require the most effort to enlighten (for lack of a better word), and have most of their lives behind them. However, I would that the long-lasting influence they have on their grandchildren is sufficient reason to not ignore them, but to help them learn better. Don't disagree with hat sentiment at all. Though in all likelihood the effort will bear more fruit with the grandchildren directly.

They can help it. I was born in 1940 and the N-word was as common in my house & among my friends as was Chevy. I have changed; hopefully for the better. Now, I never use that word unless it is in some context to explain something. People can change if they want to. Jerry Baumchen I agree. Of course they can. It takes effort and desire.
-
So you agree I didn't say that I hoped they'd die. Why did you feel the need to make that up? And that was a pretty decent way of calling me stupid [golf clap] well done.
-
I didn't say that I hoped they die. I said that they will soon die off, so no need to try and change their minds. You can just be pissed off, you don't have to add words and meanings that aren't there. I know it is the American thing to do these days, alternative facts and all, but it really isn't required.

Right, racism is so ingrained in that group, that they really should be forgiven for it. They can't help it, it is just how they grew up. But of course, addressing that has to be tactfully done, we wouldn't want to offend them. Fuck racism and fuck those who defend it by claiming it is just how they grew up and they can't change it because it takes too much effort. We really do need that eye-rolling emoji.
-
Good thing I didn't say the problem will be eliminated then.
-
Maybe, but Ron implied that they won't change their minds one way or the other, so that only leaves one other option. If looking forward to a day with less racism and less people seeing each other as the enemy is rude, then I am fine with being rude.
-
Old people die and with them their mentalities. Change will be driven by the next generation.
-
In the Vietnam veteran circles that sentiment unfortunately is strong. One thing that does not get much traction is to tell a Vietnam vet he is wrong. They still deal with coming home issues after fighting communism, not to mention PTSD. Don't have to tell them they are wrong. They'll die off soon enough.

You are forgetting about NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch lying about the CNN Town Hall audience attacking her. I did forget about CNN giving one of the students a scripted question for an interview to fit their agenda. You may want to expand your news sources a bit. The father and son who claimed that have already admitted to lying about that. That was after it was clearly proven they doctored the email. Guess the truth doesn't often make it to your echo chamber of choice.

I have been wondering why the National Rifle Association needs and has a Russian Liaison or even members from Russia.
-
Left wing bigotry and xenophobia... wtf??

Pretty sure Brady is a Russian. -

Next you are going to object to those with Parkinsons and Cerebral Palsy.
-
Which of course Ron more or less did when he tried to get TK fired. He is not someone who just disagrees.

And to laugh. Laugh a lot.
