Brett Kavanaugh, how to get a SC Nomination
SkyDekker replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I can see why Trump and the GOP would think this is a fine candidate. -
Funny the thing that stands out to me is that if the US would stop breaking so many soldiers, maybe the VA system wouldn't be such a mess.

Brett Kavanaugh, how to get a SC Nomination

Who says she wants to crucify him. maybe she just thinks that the actions she is aware of should preclude him from being a SC justice? -
Looks like once the adults spent some time with the child...... https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-walks-back-his-plan-to-declassify-russia-probe-documents/2018/09/21/79d95f94-bdac-11e8-8792-78719177250f_story.html?utm_term=.8812baf2d0f2

Brett Kavanaugh, how to get a SC Nomination
SkyDekker replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I know there is a lot of concern around fake news these days. There are lots of accusations about how the media lies to support the liberals etc. etc. So, let's look at an example of the right doing good journalism: That is Rush Limbaugh providing disparaging "information", probably better termed as propaganda, about Dr. Ford. -

I believe the statute of limitations for the alleged crime has probably expired. I may be wrong sol does not apply to all crimes. I believe that for this state it would depend on exactly what the crime was. Again, this would flow out of an investigation. She isn't even asking for a criminal investigation, nor has she claimed rape. She is asking for the FBI to investigate, similar to what happened when Anita Hill made her allegations. Sen. Hatch who now claims the FBI doesn't have jurisdiction, in those days praised the process and said the FBI did exactly what they were supposed to do. I think it is beyond clear that the GOP has absolutely no interest in any actual investigation, but simply want to ram this confirmation through. That alone should be enough reason that nobody really should support this nomination. -

She is more than willing to, hence why she would like it investigated. Appearing in front of committee is different. She has accused a man of assaulting her. You say this is meaningless unless she is willing to stand in front of a committee primarily made up of the accused's male friends and explain herself. What should happen is that Trump should order the FBI to update the background check. The process should then continue based on the updated background check. With Anita Hill that took 3 days. In conjunction local law enforcement should investigate on the criminal side. Any vote doesn't have to wait for this possibly lengthier process, since if he is charged (and possibly convicted) he can always be impeached. -
So Trump is declassifying specific parts of this FISA application, but he has said he has never read it, but is doing so because Sean Hannity and other media types have asked him to. I mean, what do you even say to that?

The youth these days really need to be more respectful. Oh that assault really doesn't count, he was just a child. -

He is full of shit. From that same article I linked: But Judge's memoirs, "Wasted: Tales of a GenX Drunk" and "God and Man at Georgetown Prep," paint a very different picture of what the Post called a "nest of debauchery." And he said his drinking and "immorality" began at that school, even as he credited the education he received there, the Post reported. Judge described a school with "masturbation class" where the boys "lusted after girls" from other Catholic schools and drank heavily, including to the point of blacking out. -

Oh I have a feeling he has a recollection. This is on of his writings: "Of course, a man must be able to read a woman’s signals, and it’s a good thing that feminism is teaching young men that no means no and yes means yes. But there’s also that ambiguous middle ground, where the woman seems interested and indicates, whether verbally or not, that the man needs to prove himself to her. And if that man is any kind of man, he’ll allow himself to feel the awesome power, the wonderful beauty, of uncontrollable male passion." https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/1343556002 edited to add: looks like Bill and I posted at the same time. -

There is something seriously, thoroughly wrong with US society. -

I am trying to reconcile the two different responses: 1. Just a young teenager being a teenager. 2. It didn't happen. Those two seem to be mutually exclusive. -
Going through the paperwork, they nailed Manafort to the wall. Wording around forfeiture to attempt to make it pardon proof. Full cooperation in the investigation and waiving the right to have counsel present. Can't make money off this. Etc. Etc. Manafort was either convinced he wasn't going to get a pardon, or they convinced him they had so much on him and his family that could not be pardoned that this was the better deal.
-
It surprised me because I was under the impression he was counting on a pardon. But then again, if I was in a shitload of trouble, would I want to put my future in the hands of a liar with a record of fucking over the people who worked for him? My understanding is that there is enough for state charges that would make a pardon very unlikely. The civil forfeiture would apparently also survive a pardon. http://www.ispaulmanafortinjail.com/

And forfeit $45 million or so, which means this investigation is turning a profit. Seems like the best deal done under the Trump administration.

I am trying to find the Breitbart article and your post condemning the guy going in and shooting up the pizza restaurant... At least there aren't any Democrat politicians speaking out about how good people are when they drive a car into a crowd. Or how they have a golf course nearby. Or on the day two planes fly into buildings in New York City, which subsequently collapse, and extole how you now own the tallest building in the city. Or encourage violence at your rally and offer to pay any legal bills. That is what you support. But you are worried about this? Maybe time for some reflection in that mirror of yours.

Could you imagine the outrage if these NFL players started displaying US flags with a black stripe?
-
The guy seriously has no clue what he is talking about. There are now multiple reports about how stupid this guy is. Even if only half of them are true, he is still pretty damn stupid.
-
I am sure some are, some aren't. I don't think there is any single personality trait you can assign to people just because they are veterans.

Thanks

Says video unavailable when I click on your youtube link for the full movie. Is that not available in Canada?

Right. Fuck Kaepernick for standing up for equality for ALL Americans. He should definitely be lynched for personifying the best of American values. Kaepernick is a better patriot than any of his critics. Does anyone remember why Kaepernick started taking a knee in the first place? It was to protest, and try to bring attention to Police involved shootings of unarmed black men. It's the style of protest that is getting everyone's knickers in a knot to the point of disregarding the reason. If some one yells, "HEY! THAT GUY IS STEALING YOUR CAR!" do you ignore what he says so that you can reprimand him for shouting in an inappropriate place? The lack of justice for the innocent dead black men is far more disrespectful of the flag than any kneeling could be. Actually he started by staying seated during the anthem. A veteran who was playing in the NFL reached out to him and they got together to have a conversation. This veteran relayed to him that he thought that staying seated was very disrespectful however he understood CK desire to protest. Together they agreed that kneeling during the anthem would show protest without disrespect. That's right CK started kneeling because a veteran asked him to. That's why i get quite a chuckle out of internet social justice warriors coming out screaming: but the veterans. Snowflakes. You would think that if you can handle going to a war zone, you can handle watching a black man kneel.
