  1. Yes but Trump has great and unmatched wisdom and will not allow anything bad to happen.
  2. Interesting story around this AP released yesterday. Profit, not politics: Trump allies sought Ukraine gas deal
  3. It is the same crowd who cheer for Impeach Pelosi, with little understanding. So, I am going to go with....yes.
  4. Actually if she had flown in and out we all know she would have been branded a hypocrite.
  5. Trump's whole shtick is to play the player in stead of the ball. He is now totally unable to perform his usual party tricks, so admired by his followers, without knowing who the person is.
  6. of course calling for a civil war is not impeachable. He didn't really mean it. He is just repeating what somebody else said. We all know it is preposterous. All the usual arguments to try and avoid calling a spade a spade.
  7. There is a reason Ron is longing for the platform and feels at home around those who frequent it. People here are with Ron like Trump supporters are with Trump. Oh, he must really mean something else, oh it really isn't that bad, oh he is just unusual. All the same arguments to try and justify what is plainly obvious.
  8. It gets better with age. In both our interests that you postpone the inevitable as long as possible.
  9. Shouldn't you then support invoking the 25th amendment?
  10. Basically this isn't impeachable because the president doesn't have the mental capacity to distinguish reality from conspiracy?
  11. Sure, like holding a gun to somebody head and politely asking for their wallet. Not like that would be robbery. He was never going to actually use the gun, and he asked for a favour, very warm and polite and appropriate.
  12. The news bubble is easy to create. Fox News will start reporting anything they are told. That will allow the president to start calling around for investigations and you think that is appropriate. I clearly don't. (people realize this investigation started prior to Biden being part of this company right?)
  13. And Republicans always argued that the blowjob was wrong, because there was a power imbalance between the two. Also known as an abuse of power. Yet, Clinton never said; suck my dick or else. That would be an explicit quid pro quo.
  14. Do you think it would be appropriate for the president to call state prosecutors in the US and tell them that many people are saying that Elizabeth Warren is doing something illegal and that they really should look into that? Edited to add: abuse of power does not need to have an explicitly stated quid pro quo.
  15. And what is the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors. If you think it has anything to do with the criminal code, you need to do a bit more reading.
  16. Agreed, but it is the official position of the DoJOLC.
  17. What other options are available at this point. How should this be handled? A whistleblower has made allegations against the President which the IG deemed to be credible and urgent. What do you believe should be the next step?
  18. Yes it is a fully political process. Hence why I believe the president of the United States is above that law while president. At a minimum he is above all federal laws. He cannot be indicted while president and he can only be removed through a political process. It is unclear if he has the power to pardon himself prior to leaving office. However he certainly can step down and be pardoned by his vice-president.
  19. Don't think it is a big secret that Ron and I don't see eye to eye and I believe he espouses ideas that are especially repugnant to me. Ideas that are not necessarily uncommon among an older demographic. As much as I look forward to a reduction in the prevalence in those ideas by the natural process of the groups espousing those ideas disappearing, it would be disingenuous to suggest that I therefor look forward to an individual member of that group dying.
  20. I know this is a bit of a semantics piece, but that isn't technically correct. Pelosi will handle impeachment proceedings. If it gets to Senate, the Impeachment has already taken place. At that point the Chief Justice will preside over the trial of the Impeachment in Senate.
  21. That your country picked Trump over Clinton does indeed say something about your country....but not what you are implying. To your Kennedy issue. What do you suggest is done? I agree that it is wrong as stated in the article. Both Kennedy and Tunny are dead. Do you think current issues should be stopped until historical issues have been completely addressed? I am not really sure what your point is?
  22. Your comment was: But that is exactly what a tax break to the upper class does. The trickle down idea, which you have endorsed, says that if we tax the rich less, they will spend more. I think we can both agree that the rich already have their basic needs met. Hence, any spending in your endorsed trickle down theory would generally be on luxuries. Something you then seem to object to. Never mind the irony that you then go on to show you do not understand the difference between a subsidy and a tax cut.
