  1. A company found a way to fuck over its employees for an "I told you so". Not sure why you are celebrating this. Well, maybe I am.
  2. We don't though. There are some pretty active campaigns and restrictions around drinking and driving. For instance we have labelled drunk driving such a problem that we do not allow drinking and driving together. Not even allowed to have an open container in your car. Considering owning a gun isn't the issue, but the shooting of projectiles is, maybe we should not allow guns and ammunition to be together? The only people who object to treating gun control the same as the controls on drunk driving are those in favour of the current gun culture.
  3. So basically you can do whatever you want for the majority of your life. Be a womanizer, killer, thief, whatever, but as long as you say the right hocus-pocus everything will be fine. Too funny. If I were to believe in a deity I would believe that deity to prefer a kind atheist over a mean believer.
  4. outside counsel confirmed they were not involved with the briefing.....lol
  5. That is when you are trying to get direct results. Diplomacy is much more of a long game. One built on relationships. When you look in your own personal life, who are the people who can sway you to change your views. The guy who told you to give you his wallet or he was going to blow your head off, or those who spent time to get to know you, took some interest and explained positions over time? I mean, this is all pretty basic stuff. The "well at least he tells it like it is" comments are so one-dimensional and simply do not reflect how the world actually works.
  6. And will accomplish absolutely nothing. Should communication work towards accomplishing something, or should it just be to make you feel better? Erdogan threw the letter in the garbage. Do you think the tone may have a little bit to do with that?
  7. 96% of crude from Canada is exported to the US. So, you already are buying our oil. The Keystone Pipeline, which I am assuming you are referring to won't change that. It may change the amount we can deliver, but under current pricing that is not clear either. The Transcontinental Pipline (sic) is a natural gas pipeline in the US and has nothing to do oil production in Canada.
  8. A reality tv president gets you reality tv moments...
  9. Foundations of Geopolitics, by Dugin, calls for Russia to use Kurds, Armenians and other Turkish minorities to create geopolitical shocks. If Turkey cannot be dismembered, they need to be encouraged to expand southward only. The same book calls for the UK to be cut off from Europe. The book further outlines how in the United States Russia should use its special services to fuel instability and separatism within the US. Russia should introduce geopolitical disorder in internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts. It would further make sense to simultaneously support isolationist tendencies in American politics. The book calls for the Ukraine to be annexed by Russia. Sound familiar? Dugin wrote Foundations of Geopolitics in 1997 as a road map to bring power back to Russia and a road map to the world rule of Russians. This book is part of the curriculum at the Russian Academy of the General Staff.
  10. I agree. You actually see this behaviour constantly with Trump. Anything good he attributes to himself, anything bad is the fault of somebody else. This is standard behaviour by Trump, he does it all the time. Now, he has done some good things. That doesn't mean that his underlying behaviour, attributing all good things to himself and faulting others for anything bad, isn't fucking atrocious and the worst possible trait in any leader.
  11. Off topic: Green border makes sense if you are posting as a moderator, doing moderator things as opposed to simply participating in discussion. Maybe there can be a toggle switch for moderators?
  12. To some degree. But like anything, there are limits. Sure Mussolini made the trains run on time, but if you supported Mussolini, nobody is going to believe you did it because of his public transportation policies.
  13. So in 2011 the US became a net exporter, which means nothing. But in 2018 the US passed Saudi Arabia in crude production and that is all hail Trump? I haven't checked these numbers, but the reasoning here is pretty weird.
  14. Just in case people need a reminder what a racist piece of shit Trump is. Those who support him really are no better in my book. https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1182476234036580352?s=20
  15. Aren't utilities owned by private companies the best!!!! Fuck those damn commies with their public utilities. Capitalism fuck yeah! With that out of the way. PG&E as a private companies is acting exactly how you would want it to. It is protecting itself against large liability. They got sued into bankruptcy before, this is the normal outcome of that. On the bright side, no regulation to stop them, cause we all no regulations are bad. And, your utility is privately owned and we all know that is a good thing.
  16. I'll just leave this here...... https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/11/business/coal-murray-energy-bankruptcy/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=twCNN&utm_term=link&utm_content=2019-10-11T17%3A51%3A04
  17. Isn't it incredible how quickly people forget. Clinton had a full platform. Trump's platform was: I am rich and I hate migrants on the southern border. Now people are saying that if only if the DNC has a clear platform they will win.....it would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
  18. Watch this and tell me again how you are taking money from the poor and giving it to the rich through tax breaks. You have systematically lowered taxes on the rich. If that is your concern, I would suggest stop supporting the GOP and change your taxation structure. https://twitter.com/DLeonhardt/status/1181004566088814594?s=20 People do get sick from CO2. People get sick from O2 as well. Some people die after drinking too much H2O. All science. All happens.
  19. It would be semantics if there was a tax deduction for just Tesla related purchases and you referred to it as a subsidy. That is simply not the case. You are referring to EV tax credits as a "Tesla subsidy". That's not semantics, that is willfully incorrect or based on ignorance of facts. My guess is that it is a willful misstatement. Which means that the rest of your commentary is very likely to be highly biased. Don't think there is much use in discussing science based issues with heavily biased opinions.
  20. What Tesla subsidies? Hard to take you seriously when you are just spewing talking points.
  21. I agree with you completely. Though, should note that I have little faith in the Supreme Court upholding such a judgement. As I have said before, only a state can really hold him accountable at a criminal level. At the federal level he is currently above the law and can ensure he is never prosecuted.
  22. Except that their opinion is binding on the executive branch, which means they cannot indict even if they wanted to. It effectively is law. Without that Mueller could very well have investigated and indicted for Obstruction of Justice.
  23. When Republicans keep telling educators they are lieberal shills that brainwash children, should you really be surprised one gets snide remarks back?
  24. Well, he got ammunition to the military. Cause when he took over the military had no ammunition. We don't have ammunition
