Not sure I understand your question. It wasn't my first night jump nor was it my first wingsuit jump. But it was my first wingsuit jump at night and no I don't remember the moon being blue. But I did buy beer, so there's no point in saying "beer" as that opportunity has come and gone. Friday was a full moon, but then so was Saturday. That makes Saturday a blue moon.

6/10/2 6 shots of tequila, 10 jumps, my first night jump and the first time I've flown a canopy in a rainstorm.

Holy shit, what do we need now, skydiver sensativity training lest we scare off the chicks by commenting on how nice they look? Don't think so. Hmm, I think Linny is purdy. Quick- someone call a cop, I'm harassing, I'm harassing. She might leave the sport and then guys won't be able to check out her hot bod when she's not looking!!!

No problem, when we get to the DZ we'll just find a virgin to sacrifice to appease the weather Gods. Oh wait- damn- we are screwed. No one can predict the weather in Florida anyway. It's just show up and hope for the best.

I would've said ignorance was, but then I have no idea who Kurt Vonnegut is...

I don't know about Orlando, but in Fort Lauderdale property prices have been going up through the roof. As an investment, I don't think you'd do bad buying property in Florida.

WTF. No one has any right to yell at you like that. Next time he comes at you like that tell him he can go fuck himself. If you get fired you can collect unemployment while you look for another job. You're at work to work, not be some asshole's chew toy.

Guys, get a room.

Let's talk about the Speakers Corner folks behind their backs...

Oh give me a break. Everyone knows those leftest boobie guys are commie bra loving bastards trying to destroy this great country by pushing through manditory boobie coverage legislation. -
Why is it when you're injured, friends seem to disappear?
MarkM replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
I think you have degrees of friends. Most of the people I've hung around with were aquaintences, but I had a pack of pretty good friends back in my early 20's. I mean, we all sort of went through a stage of life together. After college we mostly lost touch, that took awhile though even after we seperated. But I've had one friend for 18 years that I still talk to on a weekly basis even though we live a thousand miles away. Dunno what makes one sort of person that kind of friend and other people more casual friends. -
I look at things in terms of my own best interests. I don't support welfare programs that pay people to sit around and watch oprah, because it's not in my best interest. I do support programs that work with people on a short term with the goal of getting them jobs or assisting them while they have sub-minimal living standard jobs. Homeless people sitting on a street corner begging dollars is an eye soar and those people don't pay taxes and never will. So yeah, if there's a program to prevent that, I support it. Let's talk about our health care system going social. I'm a healthy young adult male, why should I have to pay for another person's health care as a part of some HMO/PPO/medicare? If they're old and frail, fuck em right? Or if they break a leg and don't earn as much as me and can't afford a cast and x-rays, screw them too, right? The problem with that though is that the rich people need the poor people to get crap done. So yeah, the taxes go downhill. What you're forgetting though is that earnings go uphill. The CEO that makes $500k ain't working 20 times as hard as his employee making $25k. In reality, the CEO is just smarter, more talented or knows how to work the business world. But he needs that $25k a year guy to get things done. So if that guy breaks a leg it's in the CEO's interests to have his tax money go towards fixing the guy up so he can get back on the job. It's in his own best interest, my best interest and your best interest to have programs in place to support and help the low guy when he's down. The trick though is to have programs that make unproductive people productive and keep them there, instead of programs that reward people for staying unproductive. I think the origional article's idealism just doesn't work in the real world.

First the guy needs to define "rightful property" before he goes all off on "legalized theft". I mean, if he wants to swim out to an island where no one else lives, no government rules and carve out all by himself a house, roads, build vehicles, etc and defend it from attackers then by all means he truly owns all of that. But since we all live in a society that depends on one another for everything in our lives, I'd hardly call taxes to support that society "legalized theft".

I'm sick. I'm twisted. I'm rolling on the ground laughing my ass off.

Yeah, but you gotta admit, most of his sex threads do get interesting.

The Last Dance @ Casa Waller - Sebastian

What? Everyone knows about that. When they demo the suits they have a standard puke waiver you have to sign now. Didn't you know they caught that on video? They show that too as sort of an advisory thing. Heh, actually I landed near you at Pahokee that day. I was just off AFF and oggling the wing suits that were out there then. I plan to fly one just as soon as I get the jump numbers. Yeah I know, there was a lot of turbulance that day in the plane. It's someone riding on one of those animal things that sits on a big spring you see in a park or playground. In this case it's someone hanging off a panda like he's entering some mad turn. I thought it was funny. Attached is the full sized pic. -

Cool. I'll bring ya some motion sickness pills for the birdman jumping -
Just got the BD 2003 DvD a couple days ago and watched it. I liked the format, it's sort of like you're at the bridge watching events as they happen from both the LZ and the bridge itself. One thing I did was when anyone had line twists I'd rewind and check out their rig. Seemed like most of the people who had them were using skydiving rigs and not base rigs. I was pretty shocked to see how awful most people were landing too. I guess most everyone was flying in brakes so they didn't have any flare left or is it that most just didn't know how to land a 7 cell canopy? My neighbors were probably wondering why I was yelling ouch every few minutes.

Looks pretty comfortable. You going to order another one of that design from the same company?
-
Yeah, I'm always vibrating my wings way too early.

Inconstistant rules makes a dog behave badly. I think it's the same with children. I remember when I was young my friend and I were riding in the car with my mom and I asked her if I could spend the night at my friend's place. She said no and my friend said, "ask her again". I was like, "WTF would asking her again do? She already said no." Apparently some parents will change their minds if you nag them enough, mine never would though. But on the flip side I never had silly rules either. I had friends in their teens who couldn't go out because they had gone out the night before? What the hell kind of rule is that?

Heh, just let em burn baby, let em burn. I like my job, though I wouldn't mind a bigger paycheck(who wouldn't?). I work from home which gives me a lot of flexibility, but I'm pretty much on call 24/7 if there's an emergency. Maybe one of these days I'll get enough guts to work for myself and start up some biz that doesn't involve a lot of effort(something I really enjoy) for a decent living.
-
Um, what are they going to collect on? The ruined remains of the car from the junk yard? Make a good faith offer to pay off the remaining balance over time, if they don't like it they can go screw themselves and you can dispute any mark they put on your credit report(you offered to pay it off, they were just being dicks about it).

I didn't think any of the newer containers had main flap opening issues anymore. The main thing I like about my Mirage is the freefly handle instead of the regular hackey handle. It really secures my PC and I think it's much less likely to snag on something in the plane.

Do you worry about how you'd react to a malfunction?
MarkM replied to Evelyn's topic in Safety and Training
Then you'd better have a Cypres and a reserve canopy that won't kill you on a no flare landing, assuming you're lucky enough to not have an object strike on landing. I don't worry about having a mal. I reacted with a cool head when I got entanged in my deploying main once and the few times I've had to dig myself out of being killed on my motorcycle I didn't panic(just got pissed afterwards). I mostly try to plan what I'll do in any given situation before it happens and then when the crap hits the fan I'll go into a scan -> react mode. Scan the danger then react according to plans I've already made. I figure the more I decide what to do on the ground, the less likely I'll be to enter "brain lock" up in the air when things go bad.
