  1. Does it always appear with a "buy it now" price? If so, it might truly be a scam...I do recall seeing this rig a few months ago on eBay...maybe someone with influence should notify eBay of the situation. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  2. I think you just hunger for attention...IMHO... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  3. Again, please reconsider... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  4. I bought mine slightly used, but I really like it so far. I would definately consider buying a new one when the time comes to downsize a bit!
  5. The REAL studs are acft mx! Pilots come in a close second... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  6. I hope she's stalking you in the PM's, cause she's doin' a shitty job of stalking so far... Edited to add: Then again, if she's a good stalker, we wouldn't know she was stalking... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  7. Maybe she wants to stalk due to the cool avatar? Women, I hear, are attracted to wise men. And your avatar portrays wisdom...or maybe you are just going to be another victim...either way it's attention. Run with it, I say. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  8. It appears to be a common water snake. All venomous snakes in North America have slit pupils and exaggerated triangular heads. The only exception that I know of on the slit pupils would be the Coral snake, but the Coral snake is black, gold and red banded. In the pic, the snake in question does not appear venomous, but I've been bitten by a water snake before, and it still hurts like a bitch due to their razor-sharp, hacksaw blade type teeth. They tend to have nasty tempers when you dick around with them. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  9. I did some research, and it seems the photo I first posted is the result of a ring catching as the person jumped from the back of a truck. I'm posting another I found that is worse yet...not sure about the circumstances, but I do know it was due to a ring catching resulting in a serious de-gloving injury. Don't view the pic if you have a weak stomach! Eric The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  10. Carnation Breakfast Bars w/chocolate chips...haven't seen 'em for years... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  11. I think we were shown the same pics you were shown in your A&P class...couldn't find the one that's REALLY bad...but I'm not a pro internet guru either. The one I posted is bad enough to convince me not to jump from aircraft with rings exposed. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  12. Found this pic of an injury due to catching a ring on an object. It is known as a de-gloved injury. The pic we were shown in USAF training was much worse than this. As a result, I wear gloves, or better yet, remove the ring! The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  13. I'm all for keeping neat and trim down there, but I'll stick to shaving...yes the stubble sucks when you procrastinate and don't keep up with it, but we're men dammit...we can handle a little discomfort, right? Besides, according to all the sitcoms, men are portrayed as sitting around scratching their sacks anyway, so at least we'll have a good reason now... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  14. I used to wear skydiving t-shirts everywhere I went trying to promote the sport...after all the stupid comments I've gotten I'll still wear skydiving shirts...they'll just be Aerodyne, PD, Mirage, and the like. That way I won't be as likely to attract those wonderful, clever, "perfectly good airplane" comments like I used to. Isn't that amazing how that one asshole pipes up with that line when skydiving is mentioned...then looks around the room like he/she is the first to ever come up with that lame ass retort. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  15. When he gets ready to buy gear, I would recommend, at the very least, buying a container new, given his height of 6'3". I got really lucky with a used container at my height of a little over 6'4". It will be worth the extra $ for the comfort of a custom fit! The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  16. I hear there was an interesting rodeo demo in Georgia somewhere...a video involving a perfect accuracy landing followed by an appendage in a cow's ass...but you didn't hear it from me... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  17. Mine comes from a T-shirt I had when I was a child...I think it fits our sport well. The bird being, of course, the careless skydiver...and the cat being Terra Firma! The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  18. Stitch is correct, maybe his post is worth a second look... The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  19. I agree 100%...the 3-4 jumps I've done in very close proximity with another canopy is an eye-opening experience to say the least!
  20. The ONLY thing holding me back from 100 jumps/month is $$...seems to me you'd have to be: (1) A Trust-Fund Baby (2) A Trust-Fund Baby w/2 or more rigs. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  21. I can sympathize with your situation, Robby...I had a storage unit broken into and cleaned out. I lost tons of pictures of my daughter in her cutest years. I'll kick in $100 to up the reward. I remember your contributions very well at the Orfuns Boogie last year, for that was my very first boogie! I had a blast, and unlike Shrek, I liked your music!
  22. Welcome! You'll find that you can just about find any answer to any question just by searching DZ.com! I don't post that much simply because I'm still finding interesting forums that were started 3-4 years ago! I'll get caught up eventually! Again, welcome! Eric The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
  23. Good luck, and have fun! Let us know how it goes!
  24. If this helps, I learned through Static Line Progression...and if I could do it over again, I'd go with AFF. I made 20 jumps in 1997, quit due to a divorce, and made it back to jumping last summer. When I went to Skydive The Farm after moving to GA, they started me off with recurrent AFF jumps...what a difference that made! I learned more in 3 AFF jumps than I did in 10 jumps at my old DZ! A lot had to do with the quality of instruction I received at The Farm...(thanks Mike G.!) but you will have more advanced skills learning through AFF at the 20 jump point, than you would staying with Static Line...IMHO.
  25. That's perfectly fine IMHO...I started packing at early jump #'s, but everyone learns a little differently. Learn to pack when you feel you are beginning to relax a bit more about your jumps. No need to overload yourself with worries about how your main is going to treat you when you are trying to concentrate on your skydive. Learn when you feel you are up to taking on the new challenge! But you will need to learn when you are ready for that box to be checked off on your A license card. The Braver the Bird...The Fatter the Cat.
