  1. Difference between size and size on disk, I would guess. Windows includes overheads of saving the file, where as adobe is quoting the file size for pixels only. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  2. Where there any cost implications to removing the restrictions? Aside from the man hours attributed to the actual derestricting? __________________ BOOM Headshot
  3. That is the actual death part, I can hardly see anyone turning round and saying; "He died doing something that he loved.... dying!" Moving swiftly back on topic, I know for a fact that if I die skydiving and I really hope I don't, then I would like others to keep jumping and doing the things they love, I don't need them to stop doing what they love to show respect. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  4. LOL you know I wrote it all in female context then changed it all to male (don't ask why cause I have no idea), sorry about that Beverly. If those funerals had been from them walking in front of buses, would you have felt them same way? (I don't mean to offend the people you have lost) __________________ BOOM Headshot
  5. What I find disturbing is that you would asume that he has a death wish rather than someone who's grasp of the written english language isn't quite what it should be? He clearly (IMO) meant that IF he has the misfortune of going in, then at least his family would have the comfort of knowing he died doing something he loved. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  6. Fully agree with that, was just playing devils advocate. End of the day just relax, jump or two more and it will be gone. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  7. But wearing a full face mask would take away the wind in the face feeling which probably is the psychological prompt to hold your breathe, so whilst it wouldn't physically make any difference, it probably would make a difference. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  8. Breathe through you nose, that means shut your ****ing mouth LOL Nah joking aside relax, like others have said its not that you can't physically breathe its that you think you can't, once you relax you will find it as natural as breathing on the ground. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  9. 8:30 till 5pm Or 8:40 depending on how late I am, need more hours really though, saving for a rig edited because I can't spell prior to 9:30pm in the morning. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  10. Who said it was first jump? He The guy clearly has issues, but he hasn't done anything illegal. He is an instructor that can jump at any dropzone, if they have a non student instructor dating policy, then he is well within his own rights to jump elsewhere. His gear choice wasn't the best but only because the canopy wasn't correctly sized for the container. I will make no assumption about wingloading (although sabre2 probably not the most student friendly if I am honest). __________________ BOOM Headshot
  11. When I was in the US my friend made me laugh with a brilliant story. He was a big swimmer a couple of years ago, swam for the state etc etc. Well he managed to get a job as a lifeguard, he said it was more a pain in the ass than anything but he was in school so it earnt him some extra cash. Most of the time just kids splashing around in the pool and making sure they didn't crack their head open and drown. Next to the pool they had a hot-tub in an alcove, joined onto the main pool, but also with a direct route from the mens room, unfortunately one old guy wasn't aware that it also joined the main pool and thought it was just the mens. This was obviously a bit of a shock to the women that screamed when he walked out stark bollock naked. __________________ BOOM Headshot

  15. Thats just cruel, reverse psychology on an 8 year old, St Nick would be so proud Still $400 and a long time queing who cares if its gonna have a few niggles with the system, come xmas day is that 8 year old (or the 30 year old) gonna give a flying ****? __________________ BOOM Headshot
  16. Doesn't state timings on RAM but I imagine with the brand its gonna be pretty low. The GT and GTX aren't miles apart but 2xGTX in SLI would be the real ticket. Cooling wise you just going stock cooling? (wus :P) That aside looks like a nice toy, you using your existing HDD/optical? Make sure you check your PSU is up to the job. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  17. Way to make me cringe on a monday morning, done a fair bit of high flaring myself, but never let up. Hope he recovers quickly. Damn that must have hurt! __________________ BOOM Headshot

  19. I just hope I don't get out before you, might want to look down and check its clear before you jump. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  20. Probably the best british footballer ever, all the issues about the medical treatment aside, really sad to see him go. R.I.P __________________ BOOM Headshot
  21. ROFL yeah they just kept it in a 0 kelvin room whilst testing, come on. You can do as much testing as you like you sell millions of a product in a few days the failure rate gives a very skewed perspective. Personally I think you are gonna be a very very popular mum come xmas day. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  22. But how would you do that ? If you tug hard enough on the ball you'd pull the pin and pop your reserve. I suppose you could try to get a grip on the cable and try to rip the ball off by hand. As there's no way you could do that with 300 lbs force, you shouldn't be able to rip the ball off, but that's not going to tell you it's holding at 300 lbs either. If you're really concerned, you could probably ask your rigger to set up a test with a bunch of barbell weights or something. But only do it ONCE and then stop worrying about it. Ultimately we have to trust our gear, as our sport is entirely gear dependent - can't jump without a rig, not more than once anyway. This is a sport where no matter how we love it, that little voice reminds us every time we open the door that, "this could be the last time", so try not to let EVERY detail prey on your mind. I am pretty sure it doesn't take 300lbs of force to pull the pin through the closing loop, so do I really need to test it to that degree when doing my gear check? If I make sure that the stress the ball can take is greater than the pin can take then that's enough for me to be confident it will hold in an emergency. Oh and yes the test I was taugh was to hold the cable and pull on the ball. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  23. Bench testing wouldn't replicate the forces for the main pulling the RSL though would it? __________________ BOOM Headshot
  24. Of course! That makes sense, I was thinking that the RSL was directly attached to the reserve cable, although of course that would mean you would have to drag your main along by the reserve line. Makes sense now, knew I should have looked harder for a diagram before I posted V3 does sound like a much better idea. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  25. So after its stripped stopper from the end of the cable, and tore that cable up at about 120MPH, what happens to the other end of the cable, that presumably it's still attached to? __________________ BOOM Headshot
