  1. My thoughts exactly, and a powerstation to run the thing

  3. 360 without a doubt, I suppose I am a little bit of a fanboy but in the theme of a debate I will let you know why. The ps2 is not a superior console, the original controller is better without a doubt, but with the S controller the xbox is keeping up, with the advent of the shoulder buttons replacing black and white, the 360 will more than keep up. Hardware wise the ps2 and xbox (1), didn't compare despite xbox going with x86 and the ps2 going arm the xbox was still more powerful, this time round the ps3 will have more power. I don't however think this is important, why you ask? Its all about size (just ask skymama lol), but seriously the reason xbox1 failed to overtake sony was because the Japanese market (where most of the money is), wouldn't buy it because of its bulk, this time they have chopped it down and its much more manageable, the controllers are small enough for those little guys to get there fingers to the buttons etc. The last thing that is a HUGE mistake from Sony is not adopting a centralised (yes thats an S in there for you americans) server for their online gaming services. XBLive have and nintendo revolution will, its going to improve online gaming beyond anything we have at the moment and sony are going to be stuck with a p2p based network that just isn't going to cut the mustard. Anyway I have proved beyond doubt, that I am far too geeky
  4. Did you do it in england? I have just got back from Florida, did AFF in 3 days (would have been 2 but it was windy one day). Now get your consols and CH1 out the way and you will be all set. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  5. Just go for it, you will love AFF. Only tip I would give you (and not everyone would agree), is do some tunnel time first if at all possible. I did 20 minutes before I did AFF and it made it so much easier (did AFF in 3 days without failing a level). __________________ BOOM Headshot
  6. A wind tunnel with a relative wind to practise my exits
  7. Haven't been to airkicks but when I was in bedford there was a whole family flying for the first time, they were very well looked after and looked like they were having a ball. It was my first time in the tunnel too and they couldn't have been more helpful. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  8. Thats a whole lot of karma you just earned yourself
  9. Sweet jesus that must have taken some time to blow the dust off Heard it before but is funny
  10. After numerous rounds of: "We don't even know if Osama is still alive," Osama himself decided to send George Bush a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in the game. Bush opened the letter and it appeared to contain a coded message: 370HSSV-0773H Bush was baffled, so he e-mailed it to Condi Rice. Condi and her aides had no clue either, so they sent it to the FBI. No one could solve it, so it went to the CIA, then to NSA. With no clue as to its meaning, they eventually asked Britain's MI-6 for help. MI-6 cabled the White House: "Tell the President he's holding the message upside down." __________________ BOOM Headshot
  11. I completely agree, and also voted option 2 __________________ BOOM Headshot
  12. I think all tunnels do this. I did some tunnel time in bedford, before AFF, so I would be classed as a non skydiver, there were kids of all ages there, some far to you to jump. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  13. Our body tends to tense up with fear (ask any AFF student ), it sounds like thats all that happened. Although maybe you pulled a muscle, wouldn't think its anything to worry about mind. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  14. Bad news is your arguements are gonna get you in trouble. Reasoning 1, its not that dangerous, it is, people die doing exactly what they should have, so don't go down the its not dangerous route. If you want to talk about the risk to your life, then talk him through the safety measures that go into jumping, and if he want's to know the fatality stats quote them and explain how those stats come about (ie low turns etc.). Reasoning 2, its my money and I will spend it on what I like, others have already said it, that arguements fine, but if you are dependent on your parents for anything it screws you right over. The way to round this one is to go for the "its my life" angle, talk about being an adult and being able to make your own decision based on all the facts available (more you have easier it will be to win this arguement). I was fortunate enough to have my parents full blessing, tbh they seem a little too unworried __________________ BOOM Headshot
  15. My thoughts exactly, deployment method really shouldn't be an issue when choosing which dropzone you want to learn at. They will teach you how to use any deployment method. Make your decision based on distance from home, instructors, size of dropzone, equipment used (new/old for example), and the actual student program they have in place. __________________ BOOM Headshot

  22. That makes it sound like he opened WHEN he hit the plane. He wouldn't have opened at 600 feet. I hate reading skydiving articles written by non-jumpers. It doesn't just make it sound like, it does say that, it says he deployed when he struck the left wing. You would think they would check that sort of thing out before printing it. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  23. Remember very very little about my first jump. In my debrief after AFF1 my instructor said "right what do you remember", I was like "well there was an aeroplane, it was ****ing high....." The more you do the easier it becomes to recollect. __________________ BOOM Headshot
  24. Could you tell us how much more power has been made available, not sure but I guess the only meaningful figure would be a miles per hour one. __________________ BOOM Headshot
