  1. I can't click on that link. I simply cannot do it. I feel dirty just thinking about it
  2. Sending Rove to jail for contempt would be quick, easy and inexpensive. It would probably come off as petty but I think it's past time to get it done. More likely I think would be some sort of economic stimulus, possibly through some sort of infrastructure proposals. Hopefully the diversion of subsidies from oil to green energy R&D. I don't know, just thinking out loud.
  3. Speaking of fear......."President Palin"
  4. Obama's energy ideas typically put more weight in pursuing the long term solution to our problems. He also wants things to be dealt with responsibly instead of giving industry the freedom to pursue policies that put their profits ahead of our needs. He wants oil companies to use the leases they have before opening up new ones but that doesn't mean that he's against drilling. He prefers conservation and efficiency in order to lower demand for the finite resource over "drill baby drill" (which is short sighted and ineffective). Look at the role that conservation has played in lowering fuel prices over the last year. It's both cheap and effective. The nuclear, coal and oil industries will do just fine under an Obama administration. They just won't get the carte blanche they prefer. Some of their desires will probably be held hostage until more green initiatives are put into motion. It's a more responsible, bottom up approach. We'll be better off if in the long run, both financially and environmentally. "Trickle down" apparently doesn't work for energy policy either.
  5. Yes he is. And Malkin is a hack, but most of us know that.
  6. I don't care enough to click the link. Man, I mean Obama actually publicly admits that he shared a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when he was in grammar school and the best you guys can come up with is this story? I mean, c'MON! He shared a sandwich! Where's the appropriate anti-socialist outrage? He admitted it on more than one occasion! Jeez
  7. Wouldn't it come off as negative for the other side then? I don't see how it could. Negativity is McCain's primary strategy. Obama's been lauded, even by those on the right, because he hasn't taken the bait. (He may mock a McCain claim in rebuttal but I haven't heard him monger fear like his opponent) I'll admit that McCain's gotten better but I think that's only because the strategy backlashed. Hey, now that I'm thinking about it, I have a good story for the McCain camp. Just look at how effective he is at creating jobs. Joe the plumber's now doing well enough to hire a publicist, strike a book deal and maybe even employ some studio musicians for an album!
  8. Did anyone else get a chuckle (before the crying started) when Bush came out and declared that a taxpayer bailout was necessary to preserve the free market?
  9. Again, I have to ask, how do you write a positive article about the McCain campaign? His chosen theme is negativity. Simply covering a speech will come off as negative. No, I'm not calling him a Nazi but this conversation reminds me of this t-shirt
  10. What kind of campaign has McCain run? And from your link: Much of the increased attention for McCain derived from actions by the senator himself, actions that, in the end, generated mostly negative assessments So how would the "airdver press" write up a story about a mean, angry, old, name-calling man whose rally crowd appears more like a lynch mob?
  11. Probably no harder than you've had to work to support the "throw up" theory that's resulted in the greatest upward transfer of wealth the country has ever seen. The only difference will be that the money will stay in the US and benefit the country as opposed to flowing into offshore bank accounts. "Socialism" is alive and well, it's just not benefiting much of society.
  12. How does disapproval of Israeli foreign policy make someone a Jew hater? If that's the test then I guess Ehud Olmert is a "Jew hater". Israel will have to give up "almost all" of the West Bank areas it occupies and accept the division of Jerusalem in order to take advantage of a rapidly closing window of opportunity for peace with the Arabs, outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in an interview published Monday. Olmert says Israel must withdraw from West Bank for peace
  13. I know you know and you know that I know. But sometimes you have to spell it out so that they know that we know and that we also know that they really know what we know that they already know, you know?
  14. Should the McCain Rally lady be allowed to vote?
  15. Nothing at all. What you're seeing is nothing more than another attempt to find a way to derail Obama by any means possible. This particular angle is one that is trying to portray Obama as anti-semitic. Khalidi has pointed out some of Israel's war crimes and the right wing noise machine is trying to assert that Obama's relationship makes him an enemy to Israel. It's bullshit. But that's what you get when ignorance peddling talk radio hosts demand a disproportionate amount of attention.
  16. Ha! Check out the Rogue Palin trailer. Good stuff http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=189759&title=goin-rogue
  17. Perhaps we should just let them have 3/5ths of a vote. Not everyone can have Donald Trump rescue their mortgage for them. There are also plenty of bankers who should be sleeping on those grates but you and I are paying into their welfare program order for them to keep their homes even after they made some very bad decisions. Regarding the larger issue, it's 2008. We can transact $billions of dollars per day, in an auditable fashion, and in the case of arbitrage these transactions occur with differentials of mere milliseconds, yet we can't seem to get our act together enough to handle an election. The only reason we have electile disfunction is because we apparently like it that way.
  18. What about motivated ignorant people? What do we do about them?
  19. Have you or anyone else tried "Parallels"? Vegas is the ONLY reason that I'd consider putting a MacroSuck product on my Macbook. I had Parallels installed for a while but then I took it off. It seemed to work ok but I didn't try any really resource hungry programs. I'm curious if Vegas would work well on a virtual machine.
  20. Umm.... Personally, I don't want a President who wants to "test" our enemies. "Bring 'em on" didn't work out too well, as I recall. Sure it did. We kicked their ass all the way back to Pakistan. Humm. And we did get to watch Saddamn hang. But other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
  21. Hmm...that's "happy" x 3. I'm glad to hear that. Anyone have any comments on the 5 degree variable position feature? Anyone use it? I'm considering a top mount.
  22. I agree. I get nervous when one team holds all the chips. But I would like to see the Dems hold it for four years for two reasons. The first has to do with SC picks. The second deals with my desire to see the Republican party redefine itself by pushing "crazy base world" back to the margins.
  23. Just wondering where the consensus was these days on the zkulls mount. After doing some searching it looks like there either are or were some issues with a sloppy fit. Has this problem been remedied? Are the folks who have them happy with their purchase? Did the fact that you now have a HUGE hole in your helmet influence your previous answer? I'm interested in any opinions. I'm still leaning towards a quick quad but the clean installation of the zkulls has an appeal.
  24. Sorry, I've been skimming through the thread, trying to gloss over things of no importance. I caught "suite" and figured it was a comment on lodging expenses as part of the bigger issue of campaign spending (started the morning hearing Karen Hughes boohooing about lenders to Obama). I didn't realize that we were talking about clothing. Sorry I commented. WWTFD? (What would Tammy Faye do?)
