If by "they all" you're referring to the minority of the population that subscribes to the extremist view then I agree, it's sad and problematic, no matter what continent it's on. Hopefully cooler heads will eventually prevail however the US is not helping that happen. We're doing the opposite. Our actions have been cultivating rather than curtailing the spread of militant extremism. And "these people have been living this way for years" in part because of external manipulation of their governments and the pilfering of their resources. If the decades of stolen wealth were returned to them I'd be willing to bet that you'd see a very different region developing and the extreme voices would be reduced to the Phelp-like fanatical fringe.

Yea, you forgot one big one. I can't racall the last time I had some form of moral police dept authorized from the goverment to come to my place of business and order me to stop playing music or watching a movie, or tell my girlfriend she can't hold my hand or "hug" me or anyone for that matter or be punished by beating or worse death..because punishment for doing any of the above i just mentioned is to premote peace??, so don't try and pull its America too.. you want to try and compare the two,, you'll lose every time.. I don't think you or I would like to have someone come to us and tell us that in order to make peace you must do these things or you will die, or worse maimed for life. Why do you think that their actions are purely political and that they are just trying to score political points? Is it it possible that they are representative of a group of constituents who have been completely shut out of the decision making process for six years and that they are now trying to do their jobs? The reality is that the Bush administration's policies have been a long string of failures, too long to list right now. Why is it "just scoring political points" when they take advantage of their power to try to change the direction of a failed train of decisions that insists on not only moving forward, but increasing its speed? The Bushies and their Republican enablers have already done the damage of making themselves look bad. The Democrats can't take any credit for that. If you want to see what real "purely political" diatribe is all about then look no further than the recent criticism of Pelosi's visit to the middle east. It doesn't get any worse than that.

In the news they always said "Iran claims that they strayed into Iranian waters" but the Brits say "They were picked up in Iraqi waters". Did I miss a clarification or am I the only one who doesn't see those two statements as mutually exclusive? -

Curious, I can't recall for sure but didn't Clepto Sandy steal copies? And by "copies" I mean documents which can be reproduced from the original which is still where it was. If so, then you can call him either stupid or lazy but ultimately, inconsequential.
