I will just chime in to say something I have said on dz.com before. All the people that say you should not jump if you don't have insurance really need to understand the realities of our sport. 90% of the people who work full time at dropzones do not have insurance. If they get hurt they are in trouble. But, they still jump and work in the sport they love. There are World Champions that jump everyday that do not have insurance. Do you all think all these people should stop jumping? They will laugh at you if you tell them to. Shayna did not just break a femur or a tib fib. She almost broke every bone in her body. I am sure her medical bills are outrageous and she needs help paying them. Instead of telling her what she should have done before the accident why not have a heart and help her out now. I think some people on here that posts negatively deep down are just jealous that she got international attention.

Of course. That is why I recommended it. A friend and I climbed Mt. Everest and when we summitted we saw this thing from a distance. We took pictures of each other and just thought this thing coming towards us was a Sherpa. Turned out it wasn't a Sherpa but a St. Bernard with booze. I took this pic of my friend with the St. Bernard. Then we rode the St. Bernhard back to BASE Camp. That was nice because we were kind of tired.

Interesting... I was recently reading an interview with Marilyn Monroe and she described how one of her ex-boyfriends used to drink her piss because he wanted her in him. You know, this is a good video of what can go wrong in skydiving. How many other people have called television stations to show them their video of them crashing in. We see it on "Extreme" shows all the time. Even well known and respected skydivers (not saying names) have done it. How many people on the pro swooping tour want to have their discipline which will have accidents of high impact in the Olympics, on the "Today Show", etc. Yet nobody gives them any grief. This girl had a terrible tradegy that was not necessarily her fault. Most of the fault in this goes to the instructor and who let her jump a 190 Sabre 2 on her 6th jump. At a majority of the DZ's around the world she would probably be on a 260/280 navigator. Can this same thing happen on a navigator? Yes. A student with six jumps does not always handle every emergency the correct way. Look at how many of us had challenges for not "knowing" everything through AFF. We have all seen students cutaway for strange reasons. This girl just happened to have a reserve challenge too. Someone who took the video probably realized how much money "they" could make on this because of the footage and she jumped right on it not knowing she was wrong. She is a student with Six AFF's. Don't blame her. This is not what she needs right now.
