  1. I've been married to my lovely wife for just over 5 years now. I have been gone for over half of that probably. Lets see....in the Army 4 years....deployed for a year, twice...basic and AIT took 6 mos. So I've been gone 2 1/2 years. Somehow she's put up with that s#$t. I really hit a homerun with her. I don't think there could be a more perfect SO in the world (for me ). I just got to thinking about that now that I had been home a couple weeks and am now back out finishing up my deployment. Being home and seeing how we are still very much in love is great. I just hope when I am home for good and get out that my absence wasn't the reason we stayed crazy about each other ! Sorry for the boring rant....but I've been bored most of the day with nothing to do. And maybe she'll get on here and read this and I'll get brownie pts!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  2. Shoot me a PM if you find a plane and pilot willing!! I'm on BIAP and would do just about anything to jump! A CASA .....that'd be nice. I'd have to get my rig shipped over here though! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  3. Which, I should quickly say, is what I was referring to. They don't do Tandems at the DZ I was talking about. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  4. Most DZ's have different weight restrictions. Over 300 might be a problem. A DZ I jump at has a max weight of 300 lbs....and thats about the most, out of all the DZ's I've been to. Most I've been to are in the 220-250 lbs range. If you're anywhere near Oklahoma....I can point you to a DZ for him....but if he is much over 300 you're probably out of luck. 5. Pitifully weak stomache? Deal with it. *** ....Oh believe me I am. I just like to bitch sometimes!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  6. and by the way, he is your president, like it or not*** Why, when I am reminded of that, do I want to throw up? Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  7. You are a fucking retard. Do the world a favor-kill yourself.*** At first I thought you were being a little harsh. But this guy is ##$@ing killing me with the "beautiful people smoke blah blah blah". So maybe it really would be for the best..... Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  8. Snatch and Mandingo I'm just disappointed Mandingo was on the list....I thought I made that one up! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  9. I can tell you that I will never jump with you and your name is now on the last page of my log book, listed as jumpers not to fly with.*** ....Want some cheese with that wine?? Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  10. Being invited to go hunting with Dick Cheney! *** Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  11. :0:0 Damn freaking weather. ONLY a 2 week window and wouldn't you know it.....weather is crap pretty much the entire two weeks! Both in Florida and NC! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  12. ....Thats a sharp looking rig there.... Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  13. Yeah, its smoke. Very nice rig. You'll be happy I'm sure!! I'm very impatient. I just got lucky they had pretty much the exact design I wanted stock! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  14. And please remember, the main purpose of the Skyhook was "better" reserve openings. Faster is only a side effect.*** Thats awesome, thanks for that! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  15. Yeah, thats what mikeforsythe at RWS was telling us. I'd wondered what the difference was....especially since they are the same price. I'll be back at Dallas sometime in September....unless I get back from Iraq early. Thanks for the Wings discount card....I got it in the mail a day or so ago! Good thing is, my wife wants one....so it'll eventually get put to good use! I'm looking forward to getting back for good, and will probably end up making SD Dallas my home DZ. I'd been trying to make it down at least once a month and going to another DZ in Oklahoma....but I think I'd rather just drive down there and camp or something every weekend! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  16. ....I though the 3M was for the Vector 3 Micron. Ooops. But hey....I'd never really considered a Vector until I got to Deland. Before that I was thinking Javelin or Wings. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  17. Yeah, its an option. Costs a little extra $...but worth it. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  18. yep. I'll gladly buy beer for that! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  19. 1 in 182 jumps. Broken steering line....didn't want to try and land it on rear risers at the time. Cut a way...good reserve. That was around jump # 25. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  20. Finally, I have new gear. Feels good!! Well, new container and reserve. Same main....probably won't get a new main for 6 months or so. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  21. Yep, pretty much right on. Two years in the sport. My profile needed updating. I load the reserve at 1.3 and I'll be loading the main at 1.2. The number should probably be flip flopped....but thats not really how they design rigs. I wish they did. I wish I could put a 170ish reserve in there with a 170 main....but 160 is the closest size to fit in there. I do wonder what people think a good time to downsize is.....the way lots of people talk it seems never is a good time. I have no plans in the near future to go below a 170 and a 1.2 wingloading. Unless I gain weight....then it may go up . I think going to a 170 at 1.2 is just fine....I've put almost all of my jumps on my current canopy. I'm stepping down ONE size with new gear. And adding .1 to the wingloading. Unfortunately...I can't keep a 201 reserve. Just wouldn't fit in the rig. I'm no where near an aggressive canopy pilot. I like em nice and smooth and straight in. Don't have much of a desire to swoop.....maybe WAYYYYYY into the future...but I doubt it. I think 170 is going to be as far as I step down. I am calm under canopy. I've been in a few hairy situations (that stupidity put me in) that I was tempted to try a quick toggle turn....but having learned how to do good braked turns, got out of harms way with a smooth braked turn minimal altitude loss, and missed the obsticle. Also misread a windsock early on (with the 190) and landed in a 20 mph downwind. Was tempted to try a quick turn to try to face into the wind. But realized even brakeing a turn around probably wouldn't have worked. Nice smooth flare....PLF....just a couple scratches and a dirty rig and a lesson learned. I think (with limited experience this should be taken with a grain of salt I guess) that a good time to step down is when you can land downwind, into the wind, crosswind, in a very tight area, etc. Someone posted a better list. I can do all of those things on my current canopy. I've landed downwind, crosswind, in tight landing areas, in brakes, etc. I'm still on my 190 and probably will be for around another 6 months or more....possibly a year. The 160 is a bit small. But if I want a container that fits a 170...... I wish I could find a F-111 7 Cell 160 to land a few times to know what to expect. Any suggestions out there on how to do that? I've went on too much here. I don't want to downsize too fast. I was tempted to earlier on. But waited. I got a nice tax return, found a good deal on a rig....it fit....I bought it. I will be going back to Iraq for another layoff....and when I get back I'll be jumping my Javelin with the 201 reserve back in it for a while. Maybe do some jumps on the wifes Triathlon 160 to get an idea what it might fly like. Bottom line is, I've got nothing but time to learn. I'm in no hurry. I've got the Vector, and still have the Javelin. After the layoff.....I'll play it safe. Then think about actually buying the smaller main. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  22. Finally I can post some #'s in one of these posts!! :6:2 4 HnP 2 Two Way Rw Beer for new gear and 1st time at Deland. Good times. Winds were a little high Sunday....but jumping LOTS in Oklahoma, one gets used to wind. Good times! It was nice to finally get some jumps in. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  23. Pretty damn neat invention. I saw the video of the cut a way at 100 ft......pretty impressive. I still wouldn't want to do it unless I knew if I didn't it'd be certain death! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  24. I hope so too. I hope the weather is good in the Carolinas next weekend. But its looking okay for us to get a jump or two in before heading back tomorrow. It's supposed to be 70 and winds around 5 mph. Can't beat that. It was great to meet you too. Take it easy and I hope you get some good jumping weather soon, where ever it is you get to jump next!
