  1. yeah good point...didnt think about that....that makes me feel much better! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  2. Yeah landing backwards sucks....finally realized there are limits to how much wind I can jump in! Glad you came out okay!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  3. I did static line and it does take a little more time...but like you said....$$$ was the issue and static line is definetly cheaper....only cost me around $1100 to get my license. Safety wise...I think they are both about equally safe....But look to my jump numbers...What do i know except for my experience...LOL! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  4. I am working today and every day....LOL for the next year! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  5. Friend of mine sent it to me....i guess because pegasus (where we jump half of the time...other half skydive dallas) and we get irked about people being scared of the BIG SCARY POWERLINE....its actually quite comical....lots of people have heard and say oh thats the place with the big powerline.....which only comes into play if your an idiot (*hint* dont aim parachute at powerline) anyway...it actually splits the runway and landing area....actually pretty good at keeping people from landing on the runway. But i see what you mean...original post was like two years ago...LOL! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  6. 40 RW (WoW didn't realize thats all I do!) 5 hop n pops. 1 tracking....2 Freefly....1 horny gorilla and a hybird (3 way). RW Rocks! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  7. My wife and I have a four year old and a three year old and they love the dz! That being said....we rarely jump together....either I am jumping and she is watching the kids or vice versa. But on some occasions a friend of mines wife doesn't jump and she occasionally watches them while we jump together. We hang out with these friends on a regualr basis (away from the dz) and she sometimes babysits for us anyway. This is probably a best case scenario though....we both jump....doesn't bother us to much not jumping together always. Just my personal experience. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  8. Casa is the best so far....and the caravan is kinda growin on me also! (only light loads with like 5-8 peoople!) Usually jump out of cessna 182's though....old school!! ! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  9. Hi everyone...quick question. I'm currently stationed in Iraq...will be here for the better part of a year and no chance to jump (except maybe a two week stint around six months in). I have been jumping for just over a year and haven't went more than three weeks without jumping (until now...has been almost a month). I have 175 jumps and a B license. Question is has anyone had a six month to a year layoff...I am sure lots of people have...just looking for some feedback on what it was like after not jumping for that amount of time. Like riding a bike and you never forget? Or did it surprise you and was like starting over? Personally I think (and hope!!! ) that it is like riding a bike! Anyway you guys and gals do a few jumps for me and then maybe I won't go uncurrent! ! Again any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

    In Iraq

Hey guys and girls. Not new to Dropzone.com but this will be my first post. Thank GOD for this website. This and parachutist will be my only contact to the skydiving world for the next year (except maybe a breif two weeks of jumping somewhere in the sixth month into this deal) so all of you guys (and girls ) do a jump or two for me and that way I won't go uncurrent!! ! Take it easy and blue skies!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  11. I jump at pegasus skydiving in chickasha. Thought I would throw my two cents in. Not a great place to be a student. Other than Bobs (the owner) prices are cheap. The power lines dont even come into play unless your horrible at conopy control or just an idiot. He has been there since ninety three and only one or two students have clipped them. No major incidents even with thoes one or two. He does an average of six students every saturday so if that many students can deal with them then I hope one with even a tiny bit of canopy control can miss them. Anyway as far as expericend jumpers go it could be a pretty bad ass dz if more people would come out. Usually there are about six of us RW guys and one or two freefliers. More people would defintely make it better. All in all its a pretty cool dz. Free beer lots of BBQS....just needs more experienced jumpers! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
  12. I have been to several different dz's in my short one year of skydiving! Dallas is by far the best I have been to!! At a few of the other dz's I have been to if you didn't bring someone with you, you're going to be jumping alone. NOT so at SDD, they will all drag you on the plane to jump with their different groups! Awesome food, HUGE packing area and a place to sit and chill! Again HUGE landing area, great out (haven't personally tested them yet) all in all a GREAT place!
