Anybody know exactly (well relatively close) where these fires are burning? I am stationed in OK when not deployed....and have many jumping buddies through out OK and North TX. I hope it isn't close to any of the DZ's or friends property. I pray for everyone who has been affected by the fires....hope rain comes soon! Hard to get good info out here....I know there had been fires....just not where exactly. Anyone know?? Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Buddy of mine can't find his cell phone anywhere...pissed as hell. He's looking all over the place for it. Under the couch, by the picnic tables, etc. Finally says f**k it...I'll look again when I get down from the next load. We're all climbing aboard the plane when suddenly we here it ringing....WTF....where's that coming from....MY rig. LOL... his wife had packed my rig for me and it'd came out of her pocket....we had all but got in and belted up before starting up the 182....good thing...that'd have been an expensive load for him!! Anatomy of a Drum Solo DVD by Neal Peart of RUSH
jloirsdaan replied to sundevil777's topic in The Bonfire
Neil Peart ROCKS....I LOVE Rush.....got their greatest hits CD just the other day....NIOCE. Best drummer IMHO!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft. -
My dog eats her food a mouthful here....and a mouth full there. She's a black lab....and we give her one full bowl of food a day....thats all she eats....all day. She'll go in there....grab a mouthfull....then without eating the food....she'll come in the living room or bedroom (wherever we are) lay down and chew it up...after she's back in the room.....takes her ALL day to eat her food. ....You're right! And the funny thing is that me and my "buddy" here were like F**K no....there's no way. We went out and measured our door jam (which is a 155mm round)...sure enough....exactly 6". I figured it'd be more than that....I was wrong......What I was thinking when I used the word diameter was the circumference....which would be around that or more right?? I have a ruler...I'd need a tape measure for that....or I could have just payed attention in geometry!! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

No problem...just took some searching though pictures saved on here. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

I should...probably do somewhere....let me search on this computer. If I find one I'll post it. found some....the 1st picture is a sketch of a 155 round....the 2nd is actual 155 rounds....and the last is a sketch of a 105mm round....which looks a little small for the fuze. I haven't really every been around anything but 155mm artillery. We are considered heavy Artillery while 105mm guys are considered light. edit to add: pictures Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Ahh....it was a guess anyway. Even though...I don't know about then....but now you should see some of the ammo and weapons they have out here. Some of it is stuff we MAKE. Lots of U.S. made ammo.....weapons as well . But it could be anyones. I'd have thought that for it to be any other country though.....I'd think it'd have foreign markings on it....maybe not though. ....I am what used to be a 13(E or C)...13D nowdays. Fire Direction Control.....fun fun. Work with lots of 13B's. Fun bunch of guys (pull string, gun go boom)...jking. So how long you been out? Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
-
Okay....I should "rephrase" now.....U.S., Canada, or the U.K. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
-
Well, it closely resembles what we use in the U.S. nowdays.....if I'd GUESS, I'd say either from the U.K. or the States. Yeah, looks too small for anything but an Artillery round to me. A 155mm isn't tiny either....probably about 3 ft tall and a foot to a foot and a half in diameter at the bottom up to the diameter of the fuze at the top... Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
-
Okay, yeah if it has the increments....I'd be almost positive thats what it is. Plus its about the same size as a 155mm round (we still have and use 'em) fuze. They have time delayed ones and point detinating (sp?)..... Also, the letters and numbers could mean a few different things. We have serial #'s on ours...plus a letter which says from what "lot" it came from. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Okay, I'm an Artilleryman in the Army....looks a whole lot like a timed artillery round fuze. By the looks of a couple of the pictures it looked like there was a slot for a "key" to set the time on it......no matter what though, it really looks like one. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Miller High Life ....really is my favorite though! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Okay, got it in the mail today. Got her a jumpsuit too....thought it was going to be a run down POS jumpsuit that'd do the trick for a hundred or so jumps....turns out its actually really NOICE!! Only paid $50 for it!! Still haven't got the main, it was mailed separately. I think she looks really good in it!
-
She's actually training with a rigger right now...looking to get her rating. He's out of town until the 9th....but as soon as he gets back we're going to have him go over it completely. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
-
Yeah, its cypress ready.....actually had a cypress in it. The former owner just switched it over to her new rig. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.

Your Skydiving Goals for 2006
jloirsdaan replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My skydiving goals for '06 are to get home safely so that I can jump again. After that I'd hope to hurry up and get the next 25 jumps logged and get my C....then, when I feel I've gotten back to the same level I was at before I left, I'd like to get my coach rating. However....only thing I'll really be able to do in '06 is get the 25 or so jumps! I won't be home until September. So the coach rating and C license won't come to be until sometime in 2007 sometime. Yeah, being deployed will bring you jumping "career" to a screeching halt!! I've been in the Army just under 4 yrs....been deployed two of them. Was here for OIF rotation 1....now again for whatever number we're on (4, I think). Started jumping right after I got back from the first deployment....it was a buddies idea. Thought that since we'd been deployed that'd it be a great way to celebrate being back. He rounded up a bunch of us guys in the unit and went down to the DZ and did our first jump....I'm the only one who made a second, third, etc......... Here I am just over a year later deployed again, missing all the other things I was missing last time around.....and on top of that now its "killing" me that I can't jump! There is one plus to being out here this time around.....making a little extra $....will buy brand new gear this time, plus have some extra jump money saved up! Maybe in the year following this I can do 300 jumps in a year (did just over 150 the first year...total of 175). So everyone back in the states and elsewhere....have a beer and a few jumps for me! God knows I will when I get back! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
