  1. couldnt you just get a main canopy wet to different degrees and jump it 100 times and see what happens? "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
  2. cheers for the replies. here's another line of thought then. assuming the main problem of the reserve getting wet is the lines. could you make [with materials/substances already in existence] the lines waterproof without degrading them? this is ofcourse completely hypothetical and would i guess involve R&D and testing that i guess wont happen. i was just thinking getting a reserve wet cant be good and well, if there was a real solution out there. (plus i love picking the brains of you experiences guys and riggers out there!
  3. sorry, meant the goretex spray you can buy. ive got some for my hiking boots. the water just rolls off. "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
  4. just a random thought. i was thinking back to the fatality a while ago where it was thought that the reserve getting wet could of contributed to tension knots [correct me if ive remembered this wrongly]. i was wondering, would spraying something like goretex [waterproof stuff] on the reserve flaps etc work? or would the the spray itself be damaging to F111. or could a reserve container be made to be reasonably watertight [like an added layer of water proof material?]. im not a swooper, just wondering what other people thought. 5. dont have many pics, but these are probably the best i have [pics of the beginning of that jump]. 7654 made it onto skydive radio pic of the week!

  8. i think a bad idea. looking and not being to touch. looking at a girl naked showering. i couldnt handle that, because to be fair. all the girls im friends with that are hot, i wouldnt even hesitate at the chance as im sure is the case with most guys. 9. damn, you have a WL of 1.09 at 15 jumps too?! i wouldnt jump with you if i knew that purely because id wonder what other bad decisions you'd make and would be too wary. i hope it works out ok for you though. "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
  10. maybe im a pussy but theres no way in hell id jump a diablo at the moment. to the OP, i forced myself to stay on a WL of 1 until 100 jumps to a WL of 1.1ish if that helps. stay on one canopy and reallise how much you can squeeze out of canopy the more you learn how it flies. thats a rush in itself. the odd downwind landing used to hurt, alot. recently i had a fast downwind off landing with lots of dangers nearby. i loved the landing. im sure i wouldnt be saying that if id downsized [which i think i could handle when landing normally on the LZ]. stretching

i was wondering if doing stretches in the morning (back legs arms etc) help with your flying skills [noticebly] i only bring this up because, as always, i was thinking about jumping and how im not very flexible. anyone do this? or do you think its a bit over the top and a waste of time, i mean, its not like everyone is doing yoga at the DZ, im turning into a holiday jumper and wont be jumping for another 2 months so cant try it out myself so thats why i bugging all of you. probably another pointless thought. 16. better risk assesment to huge degree and generally analysing tings/situations better. greater confidence. being methodical to a greater degree. determination and sacrifice give great rewards [e.g paying for jumping etc], obvious but jumping made me see it. having a passion in life changes everything for the better so much its unreal. im sure you all know how that changes your life. organisation to some degrees. being able to weigh people up better [learnt from when jumping with strangers] 99% of the population are pussies "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading."
