how long till comfortable w/ a canopy?

People, feel free to correct me if im wrong here, but i think it varies from person to person. You WILL know when you comfortable under a canopy. If you are still in doubt, then you probably not. Then again, arrogance and over confidence can get you killed... Just my 2 cents... Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
From personal experience, i would say use both. The Optima is great for helping with your set up points. The digital alti gives you confirmation, and is another usefull and accurate tool. If pilots of aircraft use instruments, why shouldnt we? The more tools the better in my opinion. [edit to add]: those 2 things in the front of your skull, thats another tool... To me the correct EPs are the ones you where taught in your first jump course. It doesnt matter where or how you learned them, the drill boils down to the same 3 rules ie. look, reach/grab and pull. A lot of people will tell you different variations on those same 3 "rules". So Here's mine: Arch Look (look at your handles) Handles (grab both handles) Right (punch right) Left (punch left) Arch This is what i was taught on my first jump course, and that is the same drill i have practised before every single jump my entire skydiving career. You saw me when i was still in hospital. I didnt have any insurance (i was on holiday), and unless someone in the medical profession in the states can tell me how much 3 cat scans, emergency surgery on my femur with a titanium rod and 5 weeks in hospital (2 weeks intensive care) cost, i wouldnt have a clue how much i cost the USA government. The accident happened on 24 Dec 1999... I apologize to the taxpayers, and i am sure ill get a earfull because of this... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
