I voted 10% or less, because i have used one in less than 10% of my jumps My first 320 jumps i never jumped with an AAD (except for student freefall gear, and demo gear). I have one now, cause it came with the rig i just bought (was out of the sport for 6 years). Its a cypres 1 with 4 years left on it. When the 4 years run out, i dont know if ill get another one (i might be broke again). Its not something i would ever rely on, but its nice to know its there. They talked about cost a while ago on Skydive Radio, and basically what they reckon is half your paycheck for the rest of your life. But fear not, i think i can hoestly say that i have not wasted one penny on skydiving. Every penny i spent was money well spent, even the dives that went to s*it. Im sure there are a few skydivers out there that will tell you the same Blue Skies! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Amen to that! Plus im too dirt poor to pay for pack jobs, so end up packing my own gear. I also pack for jumps from time to time, and once in a blue moon, when someone does complain about an opening, i just blame it on body position . They paid for the pack, openings cost and extra fiver. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

Nice pic, did you chop, or get the twists out? Looks like a gonner to me BTW L&B told the gear shop at my dz (Skydive Weston) VISO sometime in september. Something to do with waiting for the lcd displays from supplier.... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

I used to carry my rig as hand luggage, cause i dont trust the bloody airlines with my checked in stuff (lost my bag twice already). How much is it going to cost to insure your luggage if you have to stick your rig in it? Seeing as you can't keep an eye on it yourself anymore... Some dream of flying, i live the dream... -
Get a neon pink jumpsuit with neon yellow grips, and the same for your gear, that way the whole dz will see you coming! I prefer bright colors, but i dare you too get it in pink! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

New UK Skydiver - need some help and advice

I jump at Skydive Weston (10 minutes north of Oxford), so im going to say come jump there, cause its the dz i go to :) The people are friendly, and there are also students there in various stages of progression. Most dz will welcome students, and will look after you. If you got the cash, do AFF, it works out to about the same as static line progression, but with static line the cost is spread over a longer period, and obviously takes a lot longer. I jump there too, and if id trust any rigger, it would be Andy. Ive done the bus/taxi route on a sun, and it cost me £35 to get to the dz. The jumps where worth it though! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
