  1. This post reminds me of some fond memories of jump Cruise Lite canopies (7cell F111). We used to stall them for fun and watch them go back into a sniveling ball, then hold it to about 1000ft. We eventually got banned from doing it on saturday mornings, because it scared the cr*p out of the first jump students. But it did teach me a lot about canopy behaviour in a stall. Thanks for the very informative post Brain. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  2. Larsen & Brusgaard and Alti Track is two different companies... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  3. I got a Oxygen A3, and its the nuts. I got a large head and im wearing an XL. Only bad thing about Oxygen is that Skysystems's customer service sucks. But if you can live with that, i think its the best helmet out. But dont take my word for it, its only an opinion. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  4. [There is not, nor will there ever be, a stupid question when it comes to skydiving. If its in your head ask it. on my first jump course the first thing the instructor said was "there is no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to skydiving."... 5. Ditto! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  6. I jumped at a Cessna DZ where the DZO was the pilot and his rule was - if you farted in the plane, that was all the altitude you got. If that was all the altitutde you got; you had to buy beer for everyone on the load. That was normally a second offence at our dz (by the way the DZO was also our pilot) If you farted a second time on the same load they threw you out the plane and carried on going. Plus you had to buy beer Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  7. if that was the case at my dz we would need 2 extra fridges/// I think i got off light then, cause i only had to buy beer for those on the load (including pilot) Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  8. we had this thing at the dz where i started skydiving (bear in mind we had a cessna 182 as a jump ship), that if you farted in the plane on the way to altitude, you bought beer! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  9. She's nice from far, but far from nice. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  10. Speak to Jess at The Jump Shop, the service is excellent and she is very helpful. She has helped me out loads of times. Maybe she has a bargain lying around for you Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  11. Dude, i know how you feel, ive had "issues" with my ears since i started freefall. I equalize by chewing gum when i jump or (believe this or not) i wiggle my ears while in freefall or stretching my jaw almost like a yawn (if you know what i mean), although still now most of the time i forget to do any of it in freefall, and just equalize under canopy, and then when i land. My best advice is to speak to your doctor and find out if jumping can harm your hearing. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  12. Have you tried flaring with the back risers before releasing the brakes? Often it brings the slider further down. OR Make sure there is no parachutes around/near or below you, then pull one riser down and grab slider with the other hand. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  13. I will probably only start to get canopy coaching in a couple of months time. So Ill try and wait for it, but otherwise ill have to get a Neptune. I really like L&B products though. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

  16. Does anybody have ANY idea when Larsen & Brusgaard will be releasing the VISO??? The website says early 2006, but when i last checked my watch we where already past the early bit of 2006 and are at best in the middle of 2006. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  17. Shit you not this is a true story: I landed out the one day on a cricket field, about 3 miles from the dz (REALLY bad spot!, not my fault), while they where playing cricket. Anyway i land in front of the main pavilion. And i shit you not, but this guy walked up to me and asked me if i was a skydiver! On another note, if people ask me "So what happens if the emergency chute doesn't open ?" I tell them to put their head between their legs. Why? Kiss your ass good bye! ALways gets a look of disbelief Other one is: Then walk towards the light... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  18. Word of warning: I know someone that over heard experienced jumpers talk about "taking wraps" and did it himself on landing. End result: A broken back and out of the sport for good. So, my advice is this: If you have to take wraps to land a parachute, then there is something wrong with the parachute and i suggest you have it checked out by a rigger, or ask your CCI for advice. 19. Has anybody ever tried using a pull up cord to tie the legstraps together? There is a few guys at my dz that do it.... Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  20. I can attest to that! Yesterday was the first jump in 6 years and last night it was the best nights sleep ive had in, well, years! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...

  23. I busted myself on landing (24 dec 99 of all days), was in coma for two weeks, and still dont know what happened, all i know is that the back of my factory diver was pretty much crushed from impact. TK at Skydive City reckon my canopy collapsed, but he said he was speculating cause he only saw the last split second of it. Funny thing is nobody did and it was almost in front of the packing tent. Rigger told me later that my brake lines where too short as well. At that time i was jumping a 135 Bladerunner (eliptical). Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
  24. Hey all, Youve probably heard of a lot of people that have left the sport and come back to it again but.... I broke myself up pretty bad six years ago, went home (as in another country) to recuperate always with the thought in my mind that one day ill jump again. But as time went on and work (when i finally got a job) always seemed to be preventing me for jumping, i held off until this year, when i decided that i have just become a miserable git, and the only way to get rid of it is to jump! So i decided, come hell or high water im getting back in the air THIS year. So to cut an already long story short... I did it! I did 2 recurrency jumps yesterday, and a 2 way today! Tell you what, i forgot how good it feels to jump! Im back and im not stoppping again for anything! Blue Skies! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
