  1. Sorry you took it personally. My comments were directed solely toward you being a bit naive concerning govt sponsored drug research. As for your comments about me being a "pot smoking conspiracy theory hippie who wants to legalize drugs ", well ...when you're right, you're right.
  2. Get the feeling you're debating with the DEA here? Nah, just a well socialized product of current socio-polidtical values. A few decades ago she would have been citing 'Reefer Madness' and people getting high and going blind from staring at the sun. Drug research for the past couple of decades has been financially constrained to "show it's bad or get no grant money." It was under the same didactic whip that prompted the NIH to fund 'research' that concluded that by the year 2000, one in three Americans will be HIV positive. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  3. Again, you are posting opinion only. Please scroll to 3 separate posts where I have supplied peer reviewed empirically based evidence showing studies proving addiction and withdrawal existence of MJ. Read the studies, and if you can find one countering it, I will be interested to read it. I think it's fascinating how some can make such general overt statements, which are nothing more than personal opinion not backed by data or research! (at least you have posted nothing but your opinion). Please, you or Lindsey show me some evidence, not just your opinion, about addiction and withdrawal of marijuana supporting your claim. In recent years, you won't find much of anything published in drug research that does not conclude something harmful. Research literature over the decades, however, is replete with consistent scientific findings contrary to your cited ones. Sorry, it's a too old (and pretty much settled) argument to do the research for you. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  4. True. Some turn their addiction to religion. You are just so sweet!

  6. to which you have not responded back to or provided any evidence to fit your belief. I have posted much evidence to the contrary, you have only posted your opinion. Again, if I am wrong, please reference me some evidence. There is no physical addiction ot MJ. There is no physical withdrawal to MJ. Is it harmless? No, it can be the center of many problems. On the relative scale of psychoactive drugs, however, it's a real lightweight. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

  9. What would be sadder is if people are so frightened of being politically incorrect that they do nothing - that's what made 9/11 happen. I say screw political correctness, and do El Al-style interviews of ANY young Middle Eastern males before they are allowed to board a plane, especially if their name is "Mohammed". mh Now who would have guessed that would be your reaction?!? ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  10. Well, I'm sure John Wayne Gacy and Ted Bundy did some good things too. Torturing and killing tens of thousands of "heretics" would seem to me worthy of the death sentence for the organization. It CERTAINLY doesn't give the Roman church the moral authority to try to dictate legislation that affects me and my family. According to your criteria then, you're living in a country that should also be put to death. Rember Hiroshima? Nagasaki? An estimated 354,000 died in those attacks, almost all of them civilians. Women, children, grandparents. The acts of dropping fat man and little boy were just as unjust as the acts of the Inquisition. Whereas the US couched it's attack in the name of trying to win a war against an unjust aggressor, the abomination of the Inquisition was couched in an attempt to preserve it's doctrine from error which "could damn souls to hell." Misguided, quite an understatement. The US is so much more than just the sum of her "sins" committed against Japan. Elsewhere, too. Likewise, the Catholic Church is much, much more than just the sum of her mistakes and transgressions. A more apt comparison would be Catholic Inquisition vs. Hitler's death camps, don't ya think? ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  11. How significant are the pros???? My mom has been an ERTrauma nurse for over twenty years and tells me this has been a topic of discussion in the ER over the past few years. They had one new doc who insisted it would be a major benefit to emergency care. Over three months, the nurses compiled a list of all major medical and trauma patients who were unable to communicate on arrival in the ER. The result? Major trauma? The treatment protocols are pretty much the same for everyone. If you are shot in the chest, no one on the trauma team is interested in your allergy to penicillin. Anaphylactic shock due to a severe allergy? You get treated with benadryl and epi, regardless of your specific allergy. Blood transfusion? Either O neg or based on a type and cross. It wouldn't have made any difference in emergency treatment although one nurse thought it would be of benefit to identify Jehovah's Witnesses as they will not accept blood products. Outside of Verimed staff and investors, it doesn't sound like a nation wide program would benefit many people. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

  13. Agreed! There was much to be learned about the passive dishonesty of blindly following religious dogma. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

  15. While your god was doing his awesome stuff, why didn't he provide a bit better so your pregnancy and child would not have to be supported by tax (medicaid) dollars? ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  16. Assuming we make our own choices for our own reasons, by definition we are selfish. Nothing wrong with that. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  17. Occam's Razor--one should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.
  18. In the past, I've accepted your seemingly blind support of the current administration as driven by personal ideology and philosophy. This, however, is just plain nuts. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  19. Well, it was quite timely for the mid-term primary elections. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".

  21. mmmmmmmmmmmm yawn. Good morning! Now let's see, is anything missing? Hmmm, Michele and GM pretend to hold light, airy conversation ...check Skydyver joins in, makes oblique references about me while joining in the pretense. at some point will bring out the big gun with cries of plagarizer ...check All three drift off topic to further display just how indifferent they are to the exercise ...check. Yep same old formula by the same old people ...glad I got some sleep. Oh oh oh! I knew there was something! Michele, don't forget to post something on the original topic to demonstrate you were actually following the thread and not just me. You guys are more fun than monkeys, CYA! and happy 4th!! ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  22. Oh, I get it. So if I called someone a morally bankrupt, integrity-lacking man-hating bitch, and then slapped a or a

  24. You *are* talking about Rush Limbaugh, right? 'Cause if not, that's about as personal attack as I've seen around these boards lately. I am trying to cut a *bit* of slack... Ciels- Michele What? You disagree that time spent learning to be a satisfying, creative, fun lover is time well spent?!? You have a problem with a realistic suggestion for self-improvement?!?!?! If not, perhaps your definition of "lately" is about as short as right wing lovemaking (See Gravitymaster's post in this thread about shallow, nympho, man hating lesbians (AKA women he's slept with) So, what is it with you right wing types? I'm beginning to think a significant portion of right wing philosophy is nothing more than sexual inadequacy and frustration turned outward. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
  25. And your comments about women/lesbians in the first part of this thread were pretty telling about how you REALLLLY feel.... and why Now that I understand what his problem is, I'm willing to cut him a bit more slack. However, time spent learning how to be a satisfying, creative, fun lover might lead him to more life satisfaction than post-whoring. It would lower my entertainment on these forums but I suggest it for women everywhere who have had to endure quick, boring lovers. ----------------------- "O brave new world that has such people in it".
