  1. You know what I wasn't there, maybe the grounding seems harsh, but he did what he felt was right for the safety of everyone involved. Even if we don't like their decisions, they are the ones looking out for our safety. Muff Brother 3723
  2. Mike it was wrong that they grounded you for an accident, something that wasn't your fault, and something that hasn't happened before. If it is who I think it is, he's the kind of guy that is over-reacts, like putting a 50 jump min. restriction on a load that has a student! Muff Brother 3723
  3. Avoid the water, its an expensive landing LOL, I didn't land in the water, but a cypres that is available for me to buy did! Muff Brother 3723
  4. If a cypres 1 happens to find its way into the swoop pond, then goes to SSK for its 4 year, will it return ok? I've heard that water will fry the cypres 1 but it went to the manufacterer...will it work? Muff Brother 3723
  5. Going to Zhills this weekend and I am paranoid that it is going to be dead! Because what kinda moron goes to Fla. in the middle of July? Well I am, so if your anywhere near the state, come jump with me!!! Muff Brother 3723
  6. Sunday is supposed to be nice, I can't wait, I can only afford to one more jump before I go to Fla. I'm going to Zhills and I got budget for about 10 jumps next weekend! Who knows maybe when I come back I'll have my B lisence Muff Brother 3723
  7. Yes, I have a Javelin container and reserve, my hornet 190 should be on its way soon, just need a cypres that I can afford! You jumping this weekend? I'll be out sunday when I get off work! Muff Brother 3723
  8. I love that Nav. 200, its very forgiving! Soon I'm going to be using a Hornet 190. I jumped a Sabre 2, that was a 190. The sport rig is definately different. When I turned with the wind I really felt the difference! Also, be aware (cause I freaked for a second when I went to pull) the pilot will probebly be CONSIDERABLY tighter and will take more effort to get out. I went to pull on the Sabre, and first attempt it felt stuck! I thought "OH F*CK!" took a breath and tried again and it came out. Sport rigs that are 'freefly safe' have good tight spandex, and the pilot is a little harder to extract, compared to that Nav. Muff Brother 3723
  9. What job do you have that all those lovely things happened to you? If your a parent then all but the jizz I would understand. I'm a nurses aide and a mom, so yeah...puke, piss, shit, snot, it all gets on you sooner or later. And the jizz...well Muff Brother 3723
  10. When I was in elementary school, I was in the school band, at the winter concert. Nervous and excited waiting for the curtain to open...the boy sitting next to me (annoying, obnoxious turd) decided to show me his latest prize, he held his hand out in front of my face and there was a GIANT blood streaked blob of slimmy green boog/snot in his hand! Then he proceded to eat it like a raw oyster! I nearly lost it right there as the curtain opened!!! Muff Brother 3723
  11. How do you get trained for water landings? Muff Brother 3723
  12. I don't have my sims handy right now, what are the requirements? Muff Brother 3723
  13. Its a sunday, holiday weekend, warm and beautiful outside, so why aren't you jumping? I'm not jumping because it is my hubby's turn to do what he wants to do, he chose paintball and I get to watch the babies...but as soon as he gets home I'm on my way to the dz for 1 quick hit Muff Brother 3723

    Help

How do you know (specifically when buying used gear) what would be considered a lot of jumps for a canopy to have on it? And what is reasonable? For example: Is it ok to get a zero P with 800 jumps on it? Muff Brother 3723
  15. How does a newbie looking to buy a used canopy tell the diffence when there are so many different brands? Triathalon, Hornet, Sabre, Spectre, I know everyone will have an opinion about the one they personally use, but how would someone know about the specific reputation for a particular one (like does it open hard?) Muff Brother 3723
  16. I know mike it really does hurt doesn't it, especially to see other place don't charge sooooo f*cking much!!! Muff Brother 3723
  17. I'm going there!!! Muff Brother 3723
  18. I have every intention of doing my 100th naked, I say f*ck it, go for it! Muff Brother 3723
  19. What does gear rental run at your home dz? For the day and per jump? Muff Brother 3723
  20. What are some components of freefly safe gear? I know most new rigs are, but what would someone getting an older rig look for? Muff Brother 3723
  21. I made my first jump since I did tandems without my double lined baggy jumpsuit, and I felt like I was naked! I see lots of jumpers go in shorts or don't wear a helmet, what do you wear? Muff Brother 3723
  22. I got a 92' Jav. Container, it looks in decent shape, how would you know if it is too old to use? Is there such thing? What are some things to pay attention to with older gear? Muff Brother 3723
  23. Are most or all sport rigs free fly safe? Muff Brother 3723
  24. Why is student gear so different then sport rigs? I understand safety issues, but at my dz the only rental gear is student gear. I attempted to sit fly and was sternly warned against doing it in rental/student gear due to bridal protection and risk of premature deployment. So why don't they have regular sport rigs to rent?
