  1. If she's laying in bed next to me and I'm touching her; does that count?
  2. http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/GoldenKnights/ Then go to the last guy (Information), Then go down to "Contact Us" for a list of folks who might be able to help you.
  3. Thank you for the pictures and the response. I think I'll pass on the handycam.
  4. Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla... Each one has its own flavor, but its still just all ice cream and they are all good. Even those who own one or the other should tell you, they're all good. If you're buying new, you're going to get one designed to fit you. Put all three on a piece of paper, place them in a hat, stir it up and pick one. You won't be sorry with any of them.
  5. I kinda figured a Birdman suit was outta the question with the 1X. It is on my list of goals at this year's WFFC to hook up with you and do the Birdman thing.
  6. In looking at pictures 2 & 3 and your relation to the aircraft... I am at that point in my Tandem dive where; If I have deployed the drogue, I'm looking over my shoulder to check for drogue inflation and doing my handles checks. Where are you at this point in the dive? Have you already done that?
  7. Derek, Thank you for this info... While most of the DZ's in this area don't have any issues with my jumping it, I may need this info at a DZ that is not familiar with this information. Keith
  8. Thank you for your time & input, Tim. I've responded to both you and Lou above. Keith
  9. Lou, Tim, I've often seen skydivers with questions (as I'm sure you have) who go around to several different Instructors, Coaches or other skydivers until they get the answer they want to hear and then move in that direction... Based on your experience and expertise in this area, I will forgo the rucksack endeavor and continue to use the HALO rig for fun jumping. I do on occasion like jumping it, getting out high, dumping high and using it for accuracy. If you guys feel that strongly about it, then I value your opinion enough to continue using it for fun, accuracy and for other folks to enjoy watching me jump (although I must admit that I detest packing it - could it have come with any size smaller D-bag fur God's sake?). And, just to avoid any controversy regarding TSO or Drawing Number at WFFC, I may bring it, but not jump it. Thank you for your time and input. Keith
  10. Just got an MT-1X. Have jumped them before and they are great for fun jumping. Didn't cost me anything. I was able to horse-trade some gear I had stashed in the closet for it - so no outta pocket cash. Might wear it for the Veteran's Jump at the WFFC this year. Wonder how it works with a Birdman suit? hehe Since I didn't get to go to HALO School, I've been entertaining some thoughts of strapping my old rucksack underneath just to see what kind of dynamics that adds to the situation. You HALO guys feel free to jump in and give me any advice regarding the ruck. Maybe I'll wait till the WFFC to jump the ruck so I can fanagle a class and JMPI off one of you guys.
  11. http://www.skydivetulsa.com/online_manual.htm It ain't the SIMS, but it is a good outline with some focal instruments in each category.
  12. 3 point 36 way Veteran's 34 way at WFFC last year... Its a loonnnnggg story. hehe

    Patriotism

I love that "Freedom of Speech," means that we don't all have to agree on what is said.
  14. The most interesting part of my service was one situation that I found very intriguing. Our jury pool entered the room, the defendant looked at our group and there was a sudden flurry of discussion between the defendant and his attorney. Then, there was a flurry of discussion between the defendant's attorney and the prosecuting attorney. They approached the judge and there was some silent discussion. We were escorted out of the courtroom and asked to wait in the hallway. About three minutes later, the defendant was escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs and leg-chains. The judge called us all in and asked us to take a seat. The judge thanked us for our service and explained that without our knowing, we had provided a great service to the State. He explained that the man on trial had decided to accept the recommended sentance. I chuckled to myself thinking, 'Ya know, how bad must it be to see a group of folks, turn to your attorney and say, "Take the deal."'
  15. I like the outcome of your logic statement - since the Clintonian days, I really need to ask where getting a "Monica" falls in this spectrum.
  16. I meant this part... With a high ASVAB score and any eager recruiter, she could have found a myriad of MOS's to fulfill. She could have worked on her degree at her permanent party station, then shifted to being an officer, she could have a path to Warrant Officer, etc. I "think" she just decided the military wasn't for her - which is what she could have said rather than come up with it being the military's fault.
  17. 15 yard penalty for bullshit. I'm very doubtful that's what happened.
  18. Well, I'm just coming up on a hundred tandems so its kinda like asking someone with a hundred jumps something about training. My current opinion is; to me its worth the additonal fifty bucks to let someone else who's whole reason to exist on the skydive is to ensure good quality video and pics of that person's skydive and let me focus on the impotent shit. I may have a different opinion after a thousand tandems... but, I am also a laggard when it comes to adding additional variables to a skydive. I tend to treat those variables like new Microsoft applications or versions... I let everyone else test it first, find out the bugs, get several opinions about the product and then have someone demonstrate it for me before I buy off on it.
  19. CORRECTION: I was mistaken... The 4-page card will not be required in the near future. One can use the 2 or 4 page card.
  20. Interesting. My tandem rig is an Eclipse and I've never had a bruise. Other than weight, I find it as comfortably fitting as my Wings rig.

  22. OK... had to ask. I've had some where they were given the card and specific instructions and then show up at jump 30+ asking me to pencil -whip it and the "I did it with so & so Instructor or Coach" with no logbook entries or good answer to my question, "Well, why didn't you have them sign it then?" SO... let's move on. Here is my recommendation... Find a place where you're going to make it your Home DZ. During a slow time (evening)... Ask one of the Instructors to sit down with you over a beer and explain the situation. See if they would have any problems with: 1. Developing a composite dive flow for those areas on the "A" card that need sign off for dive flow specific areas. A composite dive flow would include the maximum proficiency required to meet the lesser proficiencies needed for sign-off. However, if you blow it... don't be surprised if they ask you to go back thru it by the numbers. 2. Develop a composite canopy control dive flow for those areas on the "A" card that need sign off regarding canopy control. A composite canopy control dive would include the maximum proficiency required to meet the lesser proficiencies needed for sign-off (you may have to get out at 8,000' for this one). However, if you blow it... don't be surprised... Take the responsibility of developing both dive flows for their review and you will present it to them in the morning for consideration. If they agree, you will need to pay for your slot and theirs. It ain't your fault and it ain't theirs. Finally, I'm sorry you find yourself in this situation. While I understand that there are times that things fall thru the cracks, this sounds like it was a chasm. My latest pet peeve: Those that don't give the oral exams after each category. If you're not using the 4 page "A" license card which requires the oral quiz sign-off - you should also know the date for using those only is coming up soon (if its not already here). We started using it last year.
  23. At what point (dive) was the "A" license card handed to you?
  24. You ate at Rusty's last night, didn't you? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=906948;search_string=ryan%20steak%20house;#906948
