Importance of political parties declining?

Do your own schoolwork. Geez -
And Jim Thompson (R) was Governor and Ronald Reagan (R) was President. Your point being? Do you have evidence that any official, D or R, condoned Burge's misconduct? Me personally no. I perceive the numerous visits to the Mayor by Federal officials, on so many occasions, regarding so many cases, of crimes, or corruption to be a remote indication that he will be indicted soon.

Evidence Chicago Police Tortured Suspects Wednesday, July 19, 2006 11:59 AM EDT The Associated Press By DON BABWIN CHICAGO (AP) — Special prosecutors investigating allegations that police tortured black suspects in the 1970s and '80s said Wednesday they found evidence of abuse, but any crimes are now too old to prosecute. "It is our judgment that the evidence in those cases would be sufficient to establish guilt beyond a reasonable doubt," Robert D. Boyle and Edward J. Egan wrote in a long-awaited report. Their four-year investigation focused on allegations that detectives under the command of Lt. Jon Burge beat suspects, used electric shock on them, played mock Russian roulette and started to smother at least one man to elicit confessions. No one has ever been charged, but Burge was fired after a police board found he had abused a suspect in custody. His attorney has said Burge never tortured anyone. Boyle and Egan's report said they found three cases with enough evidence to seek an indictment, including the suspect whose abuse allegations led to Burge's firing. That suspect, who was convicted of killing two police officers in 1982, claimed Burge and two detectives beat and tortured him with electric shocks. The special prosecutors also said they believe there was abuse in other cases that they reviewed but that the evidence wasn't as strong. "Regrettably, we have concluded that the statute of limitations would bar any prosecution of any offenses our investigation has disclosed," the prosecutors said. The statute of limitations on the allegations is three years. Several people who claimed to have been abused or tortured by Chicago detectives have filed civil lawsuits, and the report could bolster their legal claims. The allegations also have drawn attention from human rights groups. In May, a United Nations anti-torture panel said the Chicago investigation needs to go farther than it has. They said the United States should ensure that law enforcement officials who mistreat suspects are punished.Quote Back then Mayor Daley was the States Attorney from 1980 until his election as mayor, and his father, among others that followed, were all fine upstanding Democrats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_J._Daley http://egov.cityofchicago.org/city/webportal/portalContentItemAction.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@1840663627.1153330264@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccdaddigflllkjcefecelldffhdfgn.0&contentOID=536883237&contenTypeName=COC_EDITORIAL&topChannelName=Dept&blockName=Mayors+Office%2FAbout+the+Mayor%2FI+Want+To&context=dept&channelId=0&programId=0&entityName=Mayors+Office&deptMainCategoryOID=-536882177

QuoteI like: 1. Sen.Blutarsky - along with his avatar, just cracks me up. Where's he been recently? I assume he has been very busy as he did not go to the Freak Bros. reunion. I think I recall he was studying for yet another Doctorate? is that right?

True. What I said was, "the availability of oil is a huge concern for the industrialized world." I think that's also true. On the topic of this conflict growing, here's an interesting article. I watched the Syrian ambassador on TV this weekend. He reminds me of the Iraqi information minister...remember that guy? Baghdad Bob? I don't know how valid the story is, but Al Jazeera is reporting that Israel has quietly given Syria a 72-hour window to force Hezbollah to release their soldiers. Syria has pledged support to Lebanon, and Iran has come close to pledging support to Syria (see www.iran-daily.com). The dominos are definitely being set, the questions are how big and complex the pattern will get, and whether anyone will tip them in a way that turns the region into a battlefield for non-regional countries. Guns, Cops and Starbucks Coffee.....
warpedskydiver replied to cloudseeker2001's topic in Speakers Corner
By responding "Good question. This is a triple retention holster made by Safariland. It was designed specifically for this model of handgun and the weapon is seated correctly." How do I know I'll respond? Simply because I have had someone ask me that question. Not in the exact wording as you stated but pretty close. Exactly as it should be, too many officers brush off the public as nuisance assholes, until they find they have caused ill will towards the police. I was also wondering how many officers remember to be polite in their interaction with people, as you don't know who you just might be dealing with, a member of the clergy, lawyer, former soldier, criminal, or just some working guy. It is something that some people never forget. -

warpedskydiver replied to cloudseeker2001's topic in Speakers Corner
By asking. Its that simple. What were YOU taught about pointing guns at people? That it is the best way to kill them...er you know what I meant. -
Well, let's see. In 4 years Chicago's homicide rate as reported by the FBI has decreased by 33%, and you call that "a few". In 10 years the England rate went up 25%, and JohnRich trumpeted "Homicides Soar". Anyone notice an inconsistency in the use of descriptors? Well I am not John Rich and neither are you, so to compare the two is pointless.

How much longer are you going to whine about this? Shootings are up in chicago, deaths are down by a few. And now the best part is go out late at night to party at the clubs and get robbed at gunpoint. I wonder why Daley does not put this in the media...hmmm tax dollars lost? parking tickets unissued? This trend has been building for years and is one of the hallmarks of those loveable immigrants, the M13.

Did you ever think to actually mention it to the detective? I think you would be suprised that he may be concerned and had not even thought about the fact he was pointing the weapon at everyone. -

Ill. Police Sergeant Charged With 4 Rapes
warpedskydiver replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Or "Hang Em High" as Clint would say _______________________________________ It seems, we are hearing more and more of 'bad' cops, priests, school teachers and others in 'high-trust' areas. We trust these people to be good and protect us and rely on them. When we find they are not what we 'thought' they were, it's a big shock to our systems. I really feel, those people who are in positions of trust and break that trust, should be shown absolutely no mercy. Chuck Those who would violate that which is bestowed upon them by their office or position seek that same position out as a place to conduct their crimes from. Pedophile rapists = Camp Counselars and or Boy Scout Troop leaders. Men who prey upon 12-14 yr old girls = School Teacher Men who jump on every sexy, hot bodied chick, who likes to party, and get naked = Jumpmasters -

Unrealistic and Dangerous Hollywood Romance films
warpedskydiver replied to Bolas's topic in The Bonfire
This is SO TRUE! Seriously, if you go out of your way to show a woman you're interested in her. You are immediately tagged a psycho/stalker and blown to the curb. Fuck that... When I was single I hated the dating game. That is such complete bullshit and just an excuse to not have to do anything for us. No it isn't bullshit! Believe me I have in the past been too kind to a woman that I liked at the time only to hear later that she thought I was just some shmoe. I wonder what she thought after the other strippers kicked her ass for being a thieving dishonest user? -

I remember one asshole on the M6 in a Vauxhall not wanting to do more than 50mph in the fast lane, and then when five guys in a Sierra who had finally got past him he looked like Mr. Bean with sharp stick up his bum. (you should have seen the look on his face) BTW I was just an innocent passenger -
Both! They're Alien-Mutant-Spiders I heard once that their bite is more poisonous then a black widow. But, their mouths are to small to harm a human. Mythbusters did that one and it was busted.

Ill. Police Sergeant Charged With 4 Rapes
warpedskydiver replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Ill. Police Sergeant Charged With 4 Rapes By JIM PAUL, Associated Press Writer 4 hours ago BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The rape reports were scattered over more than two years, but the four women's accounts were similar _ a man entered their home while they were alone and threatened them with a weapon, either a gun or a knife. In one case, the attacker told the woman he had been watching her. In another, he threatened the woman's family and recited their address to her. FBI profilers agreed there were enough similarities to suspect a single person might be responsible. On Friday, a Bloomington Police Department sergeant with 17 years of service was charged in the crimes. Jeffrey Scott Pelo faces two counts of home invasion and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault just two days after he was indicted on charges of stalking a woman who said she found him lurking outside her home late at night. Pelo was in court for a hearing on the indictment Friday when he was arrested on the new, more serious charges. He did not speak during the brief hearing before Associate Judge Rebecca Foley, who set bond at $2 million. His wife left without comment, escorted by courthouse security. But reached late Friday, Pelo's mother-in-law said family members are standing by him. "I don't have anything to say _ except that he's innocent," said Sandra Benecke. According to the charges, the rapes took place on Dec. 18, 2002; April 4, 2003; Jan. 4, 2005; and Jan. 26, 2005. Pelo, 41, was charged with home invasion in the 2005 rapes. "Our detectives have had these cases as they've been coming in," Bloomington police spokesman Dave White said Friday. "They started trying to put the pieces together and they said, `These look similar.'" But the various pieces began to fit after another police officer saw Pelo near the home of a woman who called to report a prowler. Pelo, who was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts, was let go about 12:30 a.m. on June 10 after telling the officer he was out looking for a home for his mother-in-law. He was arrested later that day on suspicion of residential burglary. Days later prosecutors added a charge of aggravated stalking to the attempted burglary charge, saying he had stalked the woman at least twice before, in April. That woman apparently met Pelo last year when she went to the police department to file a report. Pelo was desk sergeant at the time and approved the report, which included the woman's name, address, work telephone number and other information, according to prosecutors. Assistant State's Attorney Mark Messman said in court that two of the rape victims had positively identified Pelo as their attacker in a photographic lineup and had identified his voice. He also said investigators found a mask, pry bar and other items in his home that appeared to have been used in at least one of the assaults. Pelo's attorney, Steve Skelton, said he is certain his client is innocent. "The viability of the identifications is something that's going to have to be examined extremely closely," Skelton, told reporters after the hearing. "All you folks have to do is go to your archives and find out how many times my client's picture has been in the media." Quote Nice huh? -

Sorry to hear you have so much trouble with it, did you ever contact Ruger? I have friends who own that model and they function flawlessly and seem to not wear much. I have a Sig 226 and never have a problem unless I use a huge mag (20rds or more), and then it's just an adjustment to the feed lips. Extended mags are nice for the range, or plinking. I always use the standard mag for field use.

*** Then you must have gotten a 'good' one because the one I have only JAMS reliably. It isnt the gun unless there is damage, that model was very reliable and has been used extensively. I was wonder what occurs to mke it jam?...ammo choice? cleaning? feed ramp or magazine damage? wanna sell it?
