I am quite surprised that you do not agree with the death penalty. I think it is appropriate given the proper circumstances, but disapprove of how it is decided upon, or meted out. There are far too many cases where the person was innocent, and many cases of the person being guilty, and truly deserving of death, but yet the sentence is either not given, nor carried out. I can certainly understand your opposition to the death penalty, and have no problems with that. I hope you can also understand my point of view.

You are a hero. The last one I heard of was Rambo. I could care less what you think. Would you consider him spending his life in prison watching TV and eating well a deserving sentence. Or maybe just sending him back to Mexico so they could set him free? I wonder if you have kids, or loved ones, and what you would do if they were to meet the same horrible fate as those two girls. People seem to always want others to think highly of them, and regard them as being extremely fair, just and humane, including the forgiveness of anything done to them and theirs. It is actually rare that these same people live up to their beliefs. I don't care what people think, and would do what I know in my heart to be what is just. If I personally would not do anything to make sure the perpetrators of such an offense against my loved ones received what they truly deserved, I would be be undeserving of life itself. YMMV

Right. A Mexican enters Texas illegally, and murders two teenage American girls. He then demands that he be treated according to Mexican law? I don't fucking think so. He did the crimes in Texas. He can pay the Texas price for those crimes. If he wants Mexican justice, he should have stayed in Mexico. I think he wanted the justice the USA agreed to when it signed the 1963 Consular Convention. Are you sure that was his intention before he decided to rape, torture, and murder those girls? What would you have done if those girls were your relatives? Buy him a beer:?

Hmmm your branch of christianity sure seems to be lacking in so many of the christlike virtues.... like foregiveness...humility....etc. He and the others involved should have suffered twice as much as those two girls. Only in the end to beg for death to come.

Gee Warped, almost sounded like you knew what you were talking about until that last sentence. Hopefully he landed on his mains first (and it looked like he did). While "conventional" gear aircraft might make "3 point landings", tricycle gear aircraft are generally discouraged from doing that. All of the above said, yeah, nice landing. Hard to tell if it was not -just- dead stick but also had to deal with actual IMC. YouTube compression sucks pretty hard, but it sure did look like he didn't break through the overcast until 4kish. Which is . . . amazing. You obviously misunderstood my meaning, I KNOW the mains are supposed to touch first, but there was not a nose high attitude (AOA) upon touch down, I guess he wanted to make sure not to bleed too much speed, by flaring the AC. It is an essential skill IMHO to understand the energy game, and know when you can trade altitude for speed. I liked seeing that he maintained 5 degrees nose down and was able to keep ample airspeed, until such time that he traded it for some speed (10-15 degrees nose down) to land with. Seems like he made a three point landing.

This is much like the politicians currently pushing for the adoption of the 6.8SPC as a replacement for the 5.56NATO cartridge. The Politicians are trying to force it down the throats of the Military, who have already, repeatedly, rejected it. The military knows far more about small arms than the politicians will ever learn, but like that matters? In the end if the 5.56mm is replaced by the 6.8SPC, billions will be wasted, along with the lives of servicemen. if we need a replacement for the 5.56mm, we already have one it is called 7.62NATO and it does more than the 6.6 can ever do, and everything it can do, better. the 6.5 Grendel is not being pushed as a replacement cartridge, because one is not NEEDED. why on earth would we ever want to match capabilities with our enemy, when we can surpass it. We should never bring our enemy on par with our own effective range.
