Not a single Barry Bonds Post?? Should I be in SC?
Hambone replied to Sebazz1's topic in The Bonfire
Honestly we all knew that Bonds was juicing, i mean his production at the plate jumped significantly not tto mention he became a hulking enourmous man. I mean his forearms are as big as my thighs. Its like that guy in the program. Bonds is a fraud, and they should let pete rose in the hall...there i said it. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama -
they also wanted the cap room. and the fact taht he wrote them a 4+ million dollar check didn't hurt. we will have to see if that was smart. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

Ok, Fair points, I must admit. I don't understand where the idea comes from that if they missused the money before then they won't this time. Is that not a typical feeling? As for him not knowing what was going on, I must admit that I did not know that. I am a little hazy on what exactly you mean by rescue efforts, any way you cut it you still have hundreds of thousands of people that refused to evacuate stuck in NO that they have to get out. (I am not trying to defend him mistakes that were made, we all know that mistakes were made. i think that what i am trying to say here is that basically it would seem as though he can do no right. This is an indisputable fact, as president every decision you make effects someone, but the fact that he can't do right by parts of the left no matter what he does irks me a little bit. I will admit that he has made mistakes, that being said you can tell me that the mistakes that were made by Bush following Katrina were created be situations that could have been eleviated prior to landfall had the mayor not had his head up his ass. Yes it's true i don't like Nagan, infact i think that he is not mentally right. He has effectively commited political and professional suicide several times. He did use the money to build the convention center, you didn't dispute that. He does make ridiculous claims, and statments on an almost daily basis, but this isn't about him or what he said. And truthfully i think that you or i could do a much better job than Ray Nagan.) I know my grammer sucks but please don't let that detract from my message. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

There it is all better, now back to the topic, IMHO, Its because it is the birthplace of christ and as much as we hate to admit it, we have to protect that, also they have the best intellegence unit in the world hands down, that is also nice to be able to use from time to time. We get stuff back but just not the stuff you are talking about. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

they are trying to market that part of atlanta as basically a tourist trap, like the mall in D.C. but nothing like the National Mall. Did that make any sense...i didn't think so. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

You know what I love, I mean really really love. I love it when people blame someone over and over again simply because they haven't seen the facts. So with that being said lets look at the facts, and explore why it is that people feel like GWB should be a shamin and able to predict the future. He may have misspoken, but who hasn't I ask you, do you hold him to a higher standard than you hold yourself? 1. Bush did not have anything to do with the construction or upkeep of the levee's, pumps or anything else keeping New Orleans afloat. Prior to Landfall of Katrina. 2. New Orleans was given some absurd amount of money not to long ago to improve their levee's and better safe guard the city from just such a catastrophie, but instead of building levee's they built a convention center, which consequently is now totally destroyed too. I want to applaud this allocation of funds. 3. If Bush had known that the levee's were going ot break there is little if anything that he could do, he declared the area a disaster area, and a mandatory evacuation was ordered. 4. He is but human, people make mistakes and if you think that being president is an easy job, get off your ass stop being an "arm chair quarterback" and give it a spin. It is arguably the hardest job in the world, so I think that he is entitled to atleast a little leway. (and yes i would be saying the same thing if it were a democrat in his place) So thats how if shakes out. If you want to blame someone, I mean really blame someone for what happend in New Orleans, look no farther than the mayor of New Orleans (the Chocolate City) YUCK. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

I hadn't really considered the "lightly used" option, but that really does make a lot of sense if the model has a strong track record for reliability and it has a good history. you really do take a hit on the value of a new car. Walt Everyone may rest easy as walt and i now agree. But yueah thats how my dad has and does buy all of his cars. It seems to work pretty good for him. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

It's been a while since I've researched cars, so take this with a grain of salt. When I bought my 2000 Toyota Solara, I looked at a bunch of different brands. I checked out a bunch of consumer-oriented sites and focused on reliability numbers. The Solara was new enough that there really weren't any reliability figures available, so I looked at Toyota reliability in general and found it to be outstanding. I also looked at crash safety tests, mileage and whatever else I could find out there. For what I was looking for at the time, Toyota was a very clear choice. I really didn't want to buy a non-American car, but the choice was very clear. I've still got that car. It's got over 60,000 miles on it and I still love it! I haven't had anything done other than regular maintenance plus some brake work and tires. That's the only new car I have ever bought and it's been wonderful. Used cars simply require more maintenance and, as you are pointed out, that maintenance can get expensive. I'm thinking your best bet would be a new car. Walt . Here Walt and i Disagree, when you buy a new car you take a large hit by driving off the lot, if you can find a used car with a clear title and a good carfax, as well as good info then you won't have to worry about the hit and will be able to get more car for your money. The Lexus that i talked about in a previous post was bought used, granted i am talking lightly used, so less than 30k miles is the cut off for that. At 30k miles most cars are just getting cooking. Any who let us know what you end up doing/getting. And of course PICTURES ... Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama

I have to completely disagree (opinionated) My father drives a Lexus LS 400 Yes its a little pricey but he has 265000 miles on it and has had to do no more than change the oil. Its amazing. The place that he takes it to says that they have seen that car with almost 500000 miles on them before. THey are amazing, and i feel the best built cars on the road hands down. Yeah...You need to grow up. -Skymama
