we are livid. its not just this, she's had to battle every step of the way for this. the chief ob is one year ahead of meg. she was given one afternoon a week to prepare for her boards. meg got nothing. last year the chief ob dumped all of her work and a bunch of extra call on meg because she was "preparing for her boards". this year she has dumped her work and a bunch of extra call on meg because she's a lazy fucking cunt. last year meg was told that she was required to go to a coference to get some cme's. she did and the air force picked up the tab. at that conference meg learned a new procedure that they normally would send a patient out to a civilian hospital. this has saved the hospital thousands of dollars, yet when she put in for funding for her board review couse, it was denied because she had gone to that conference THAT SHE WAS REQUIRED TO GO TO within the last year. funding was approved at the last minute. she applied to a souce outside her unit, and was approved the funding for a 3 day course where they did mock oral boards. she was denied permissive tdy and denied personal leave to go to this because "she's already been to a board review course and didn't need to go". we're getting more fed up every day. you're lucky. right now we would gladly trade med school student loans for this. its just not worth it. my wife is an ob/gyn in the air force. she takes her oral boards on december 3rd. it is in her contract the she become board certified. last week, her new squadron commander decided that she couldn't go take her boards because they couldn't give up the appointment slots. her clinic oic was able to convince the squadron commander to allow her to go take her boards, but the squadron commander said my wife would have to pay for it out of pocket. we have no problem eating the cost of airfare and hotel, but its $2000 to take the boards. every doctor at this hospital and every doctor we know in the military has had their boards paid for by the military. like i said, its in her contract to get board certified. is there an afi that requires the air force to foot the bill? when i lived in seattle the police wouldn't even come when my car got broken into. the person i talked to said they were just to busy with bogger problems. funny how they always had time to pull people over on i-5 at 4 in the afternoon making bad traffic even worse. when i was in missisippi, i had a bag of stuff taken from my garage. the sherrif came out but said not to expect to see my stuff again. here in rural idaho i had some things taken from my truck. i thought for sure that a sherrif would be sent, but no, my info was just taken over the phone. i flagged down a sherrif driving by my house the next day. we filled out a statement and i was told that i would never see my stuff again and there was really no way find out who did it. i can believe that i significant percentage of crimes are not investigated here in the u.s. beautiful deer, i'm jealous. i take the first legal deer i find, so its unlikely i'll get anything big like that unless i draw a tag. my deer this year was a mercy killing. i actually went fly fishing, but there were no fish biting. i gave up fishing and was on my way home. the road follows the river for a few miles. i came around a bend and saw a guy running through the river to pull his dog off of a deer. it was a small spike laying in the river. the guy pulled his dog to the opposite shore and was yelling at his dog when i asked him if the deer was alive. he said yes but it was gut shot. he asked if i had a rifle and if i wanted to shoot him since he only had a shot gun. i said yes, grabbed my gun and started wading out to the deer. i expected to put the deer down and the other guy would take it, but he took his dog and left. as it turned out, he was shot just above a rear knee. my guess is that the guy was bird hunting and his dog came across this wounded deer chased it into the river. the guy was absolutely irate and he may have been embarrassed that someone saw his tyrade and that may be why he didn't stick around. at least my tag got filled and there's meat in the freezer.
