  4. August 8th will be the production start date and day we start taking orders online etc. We are accepting pre-orders now, but we will not charge until the suit goes into production. BASEstore.it

  6. I know of several cases where freeflyers have received hard knocks to the head and have "saved" themselves by deploying. They had no recollection of the crash or of deploying and came round under canopy, similar to yourself. BASEstore.it
  7. 1st off, glad you are both okay 2nd, ok I re-read your post and now I understand better RW / freefly rules of: 1st Level 2nd Proximity should still apply, but sounds like you were both working in different planes BASEstore.it
  8. you'd have to ask Moritz for his secret... BASEstore.it
  9. Check out Moritz's helmet cam footage of his track past the LZ from Kjerag #6 wearing his PF track pants & jacket
  10. When in doubt don't jump! The turbs in the bowl can blow a wingsuit around like a leaf in the wind. Normal wind pattern is L>R then R>L with the inversion in the early afternoon. Use the trees in the bowl, WDIs, the surface of the lake, the flight of the birds and the flag in the LZ to gauge the winds. If you ask the girls at the bar nicely they will give you their number and you can phone them from the exit for the LZ wind
  11. A year ago one of our Italian BASE brothers, Clod #724 left us. (not BASE) Last weekend we made a jump in his honor. Maury #726 took some nice photos to record the jump , see attached Fly forever free brother Clod. Mucho BASE J BASEstore.it
  12. ITW has teeth, dangerous winds to the un-educated, rock drop is deceptive, a near landing area and a far landing area with not many easy outs in between. How raw is this beginner of which you speak? BASEstore.it

  15. Caused when he repeatedly caught his shoe on the crossport when putting the suit on - we changed the production, adding a mesh cover to prevent this. The other repairs have been wear & tear caused by "Perry being Perry". Perry flies a lot and he flies hard, his personal flying style uses an incredible amount of body tension. BASEstore.it
  16. So back to the original question: Comparisons in what way? Performance? Feel in flight? Design & Construction? Performance: My GR with my S3 was 2.1 - 2.2, with my V-1 it is 2.5 - 2.6 and improving. After talking to many V1 pilots, glide performance seems to come immediately through increased forward speed and also from reduced vertical speed after some practice. Feel in flight: This is a subjective thing. I find the suit is fast and demanding in flight. I find the arm wing easier to fly than the S3 and the leg wing slightly harder. Design & Construction: Get your hands on a V1 and have a look at in person to see this, or failing that download the user manual from the articles section of the pf website, which details the suits design & features. Do a search on this forum as there are quite a few other posts from earlier this year with peoples V1 impressions. Maybe someone who has jumped the S3S with the V1 would like to add to this thread? I know Scott and Perry flew together at the dz.com boogie. Hope this helps Leroy J BASEstore.it
  17. I won't deny it, that was my first big flock with the V1, and a learning experience too We wanted to use the Prodigies to demonstrate their suitability / range for flocking, not just for beginners - which I think we did (like when I was trying to bite the leg wing of Chris' V1 ) BASEstore.it
  18. It is true that the V1 is a true speed / glide machine, but with a little practice you can also learn to fly it slow with the flock Try dropping your knees, de-arching your lower back and putting more camber in the arm wing (using the wingtip grippers) - this is what did it for me
  19. Hi Ivan, out of interest can I ask what suit you currently jump? hmmm, the S1 leg wing has a completely different design, with a large leg inlet (duct) a butt deflector, a completely different wing profile, different shape trailing edge etc.. again, different inlets, profile, trailing edge, construction, dimensions, gripper etc etc. As stated earlier, the designer is the same, that explains the "familiar". When you see the suit in person AND even more importantly when you have FLOWN the Phantom you will really understand the beauty and originality of the Phantom design. I was flocking with the Phantom this weekend, it is a dream to fly and offers an amazing performance range. Full product details will be released shortly. Long flights, James BASEstore.it
  20. Thanks to all the guys and gals @ Teuge for a fun weekend
  21. Skyray has been around for quite a few years now. They can be flocked, yes. I watched two fly in formation with smoke at the 2000 Espace boogie. Performance is exceptional but only good for large plane DZs. BASEstore.it
  22. This is true, to some extent, but I have also seen many newbies who have been able to "flock" right from their first flight and even make controlled docks. It depends on the skill set the pilot has when they start wingsuit flying. Trackers for example already have an excellent feeling &understanding for flying relative, braking and positioning whilst following a trajectory. Regardless it is always prudent to start with small way flocks and gradually work up to those multi-plane flocks BASEstore.it
