it does in this case. the definition says it has to be approved, and approved is defined as having a tso, and further restricted by making an faa licensed rigger pack it, just as 20kn has been so gracious to put together for us above. now you're just being argumentative. read 105.43, the paragraph before a. it says it right there that you have to use an approved parachute system, defined as stated.
-
i was mistaken earlier it seems. 105.3 defines an approved parachute as having a tso, and a single harness dual parachute system has an approved reserve parachute. this means it has a tso and is packed by a rigger in 105.43. 105.49 provides the exception for foreign equipment, but not base equipment. go read it, it's in there and says it clear as day.
-
sure doesn't look that way to me, as it defines what a parachute is. it says it has to be tso'd, just like everyone says. it mentions emergency parachutes before e. i may not be well versed in the far readings, but have been reading government documents for clarity for decades. it says it has to be tso'd. it's actually one of the most clear cut government regs that i have seen.

my photoshop skills are lacking, but my paint skills are meh...

that's what makes this shit so insidious. i know lots of folks like that and feel exactly the same way. i have an old army buddy that is polar opposite of me politically, yet we sit down and describe the exact same scenarios for life.

because, unlike most of the gop, i actually listen to what people say, how they say it (body language), and research their past to make sure i am making an informed decision. joe was the worst of the candidates the dems threw up, based on my own evaluations of the others. i would have went with mayor pete or warren. how could you think dear leader kompromat was capable of leading a parade of ants, let alone a country? the racism is strong in you, good thing it's not illegal.
-
oh how i wish i could be as ignorant as your comments are. nobody said he was the saviour of our country, merely the one they gave us to oppose trump. he was the worst of the candidates offered, yet the one who got elected, so we play the hand we're dealt, much the same as the past four year, no decades.

you know what they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day, at least for analog clocks...

i believe that he may be referring to the fact that without more vaccines, we can't really vaccinate more folks. he may not be, but it sounds right. pretty sure we are limited now to what the last admin did, or didn't do, properly to get more vaccines here. i haven't been keeping up this week though so things could have changed.

according to 105.49 (a), if the dual parachute system is legal in another country and jumped by a resident of said country, it is legal here. not sure if any dual chute base systems are legal anywhere, but if so, they can be used here legally. also, 91.1 (a) says something about the rules not applying to moored balloons, but i am not sure if i am reading it correctly. it looks as if it may be legal to use a moored balloon as a base jumping object.

if you live in the right state. the e.c. needs to go.

trump has definitely been the worst, unless you accept that the vietnam war was when the gop started down the path that led to the changes that gave us trump in the first place. take that out, and he wins (or loses) hands down. take out the 250k deaths that would have occurred had he done everything right, and you are still left with more than vietnam and the gulf combined. add to that the loss of face with putin basically controlling us for four years and all the damage he has done, both in the middle east and by showing the world just how easy it is to pwn america, and it goes way beyond just the death toll. kind of hard for the state democrats to do things right when they have to fight the federal government for the scraps they do get. then add to the fact that he single-handedly brought white supremacy to the level of acceptability that allowed them to storm the capitol and there is no way anyone could catch up, short of the complete downfall of america. that is how i see it, but maybe we measure things differently. your view is overly narrow and needs to be broadened a little i think.
-
how so? it looked to me as if it worked as intended. i think we should disband the ec, though.
-
maybe blaming obama for not fixing it in 8 years? maybe that's what did it? that was it for me, well, that and your rhetoric.

your views are racist, so there is no way in hell i want to even attempt to look at them in that light. that whole statement is textbook racist speak. "i have black friends, coworkers, etc, so i can't be racist." i don't much care, except you keep saying you're not. so while being a racist is bad enough and carries it's own issues, not facing it honestly is worse. if you've paid any attention to what i have been saying, you'd know that i used to be racist also, and i too had black di's, black friends, black lovers even. hell, my fondest memory of basic training was passing a bottle of nyquil under a bathroom stall at 0200 with stevens, a black guy from tn. we weren't "battle buddies" (stupidest term i have ever used), we just clicked and liked one another, so we started hanging out. no, you're one of the worst kind, like i used to be, worse than the kkk even since we think we're doing alright. well, i am hear to tell you that you are not. you need to listen when folks tell you they are experiencing things and help them fix it. at this stage, all you have to do is look deep inside, be honest with yourself, and try to do better. you don't have to give up your white name, pay reparations, or adopt poor black children, you just have to stand up for your fellow americans, lock arms with them, look them in the eyes and tell them that you know the problem is systemic and that you want to help. the only thing you have to do to help is call out what you are doing when you see it in others. if i can change, anyone can. but not until you're honest with yourself first. or don't, it's not my business what you do. but if you continue to deny it here, you can piss right the fuck off and expect me to be here calling you out every single time. have a great day, i am off work today to watch and see what happens. probably nothing, bunch of traitors anyway.
-
last summer was when i got tired of seeing friends getting treated differently than me, but then i hung out in mostly minority places. the vietnamese were the most fun to hang with, although i was around blacks more often than anyone. what i am is not emotional, it is more done than anything. i am done with people like you playing word games. i am done with the racism. i am done with traitors. i am not going to stop now until folks like you are back under the rocks where you belong. if you're not a racist, then it doesn't apply. i've been wrong before, and will be again. this whole insurrection was led by these oath breakers, the so-called militias which are mostly a thinly veiled cover for white supremacy. i've been around some of those types also, heard some of their rhetoric, but that was another me, long gone. i know nothing about this new trump type, other than some of the same people are doing the same things.

while i am an extremely easy going person in real life, sometimes something has to give. it's a damned good thing that you and i aren't in the same room drinking while this conversation is going on. having said that, i will address the question as if it were just that. some people actually understand how things work and don't need to ask ourselves why something that was not only formed over the course of over 400 years could not be just reversed in eight years, but even if it WERE possible, those of us who actually listen to and care about others also know that systemic means (paraphrasing here, that means putting it in my own words from memory, i could be wrong, you should look it up) built into the system. to be sure, you are most definitely a racist, and that is your right. most republicans are also racist, and that is their right. hell, everyone has a prejudice, that is a fact. it only becomes a problem when we start letting it take over our lives. when lots of people are saying the same thing, and have been for decades, maybe you should start listening. maybe we all should. the nation was founded on a faulty foundation and it needs fixed. fixing a foundation is tricky and doesn't always work. in this case, it is the only option besides throwing in the towel, because if we were to try a constitutional convention today we would be so fucked it wouldn't be america, it would be amazonland or some shit. so we need to work together to fix shit, and that means dumbass racists need to keep their opinions inside their homes where it belongs. every racist. period. i don't often say this, but my prejudice is obese folks. makes me cringe when i see one. but ya know what? nobody hardly knows (until now) that and i never act on it. i have some large friends, and half my family is also large. i have even been with larger women. it stays the fuck inside my head and never affects how i deal with anyone, as it should. i don't have all the answers, nobody does. but i have some, and most aren't mine, they come from folks a whole lot better at this shit than me. get your head out of your fourth point of contact and start coming up with your own that are workable and stop with this bullshit. or just drop the pretenses and admit it. either way, you're wasting a lot of time going backwards.

CA throws 300,000 Covid vaccinations in the trash.
sfzombie13 replied to Westerly's topic in Speakers Corner
now i have to go look. got any links? nevermind, work beckons right now. i'll find one later. -
this should get reported as a threat. glad you're not too scared to put those threats in writing. you're not a patriot, you're a terrorist. the folks calling themselves patriots are in fact terrorists. you're not gonna go watch the inauguration, are you? i'd stay away if i were you, you may get accidentally swept into a federal charge just trying to watch history being made...

CA throws 300,000 Covid vaccinations in the trash.
sfzombie13 replied to Westerly's topic in Speakers Corner
now i have yet to look it up to verify, but i understood the moderna vaccine didn't use the rna, that was the pfizer vaccine. that's why the moderna vaccine doesn't need to be at -70*c. hard to keep up with it all. -
i tried to in my post with all links explaining the science, which you totally ignored by the way. i assumed you were just ignoring the science, as most folks of your type do, but then i see this? seriously?!? ok, one more time with feeling and without all the supporting evidence linked, as it takes a bit of time that i wasted for one who can't or won't read it. when you don't wear a mask, the vapor from breath can travel up to 27 feet. when you put an ineffective cloth mask on, that takes it down to about 2-4 feet. as others have said, this is for others and not the one wearing the mask. this guy gets it, because with no mask, he would be spreading his breath vapor (which would also presumably carry the ~23 micron covid virus with it) to the ones in the next circle. the combination of everyone wearing a mask and staying six feet away from one another is what stops the transmission of the virus. you must have been on another planet for the past four years then. most of our problems are due to they leftover systemic racism. the "leadership" of the past four years simply reinforced that by using said racism, much the same as they used it in the early '60s on the civil rights workers in mi. when donny gets escorted out of the white house, do you think they are just gonna go away? childish thoughts at best, at worst, dangerous thoughts. you should watch the documentary called "freedom on my mind", from '94 about the summer of '64 in ms. i knew it was bad, but that showed me some things i was not aware of, like how the dixiecrats came to be republicans. had nothing to do with politics, just keeping black folks from voting. it's shameful the lengths we will go to to suppress certain groups, even more so when others get on posts here to try to justify it.

would a better solution be a reusable zip tie for the zipper? if you put it under the handles it should keep them together. you could even weave them under the handle through the little hole to keep them secure. or is it something that needs to be released in an emergency? i don't know anything about wingsuits.

notice he has not one thing to say about my post calling out the hypocrisy, and i will assume it is because it has so many outside factual sources that it is hard to dispute. it seems brent is arguing from anecdotal evidence while leaving out factual evidence.
-
yet the actual data, shown here, and here, says different. there is also a study explaining why here. it seems that conservatives give the same weight to non-scientific and anecdotal evidence as they do for scientific evidence. it isn't really that surprising when you find that simply being angry makes you more susceptible to misinformation, and that when your party changes their stance on something, the supporters of said party also change theirs. add that to the fact that conservatives are also more sensitive to cultural norms, like the systemic racism we have nurtured for hundreds of years here and it makes sense. then you find things like just being in a corrupt state pays better dividends for stocks, and you have a recipe for creating more of said corruption. none of these are mine, but they seem to follow the anecdotal evidence that i see around me in wv. since i am relatively smart and not a conservative, i had to wait to see studies before just taking it as fact, and i still question and prepare to change based on new evidence. on a side note, did you know that if we had super intelligent machines, we wouldn't be able to control them? kind of makes you wonder if we shouldn't be messing with things we don't quite understand completely. like the reason roman concrete was so good. so brent, i think you should spend some time on this website (reddit/science)reading actual science, but make sure you're not mad first and realize that it is the norm in society to learn new things, understand them, and use them to grow.
