i'm still trying to figure out how tulsa went in 1919 as all i recall reading about is the black folks got the worst end of that deal.

Energy Storage: Is this the game changer?
sfzombie13 replied to billeisele's topic in Speakers Corner
sounds like you've never been to rural wv. my only vehicle right now is a 19 year old motorcycle. my son inherited the truck i drive sometimes, it's older than him at 21. maybe in ca it will be like that, but i seriously doubt everyone will have an ev, even there. i've seen some parts of ca that are comparable to here. -
dunning-krueger says he will never know.

who won?

we should just accept that the us is too large and diverse to ever be one nation and split into five. there was a book i read when i was younger, if the south had won gettysburg, and it had the concept in it. republic of tx, republic of ca, north, south, and the rest (i forgot what they called it, but it was the pacific northwest). of course they didn't address ak and hi, so maybe we end up with seven. of course, alternate reality books leave out a lot of the reality, but it couldn't be any worse, provided we had a good united federation of nations or something.

let's not forget alan eustice (sp?) who financed his own record setting jump and was first to pay his own way into space, if i recall correctly. too early for looking shit up. no fanfare to speak of, no corporate sponsors, just a rich guy doing rich guy shit. or so i assume, i am not now, nor have i ever been, rich.

Energy Storage: Is this the game changer?

so, every house and building having it's own storage system? nice concept, but it seems like it would be very hard to retrofit the existing buildings with enough storage to satisfy the energy needs of the occupants. that depends on the type of storage of course. we will need a grid of some sort for a long time with the way things are going. maybe about the time we convert from individual countries to one it will be ready. -
now this is interesting. i have heard that is impossible, that as soon as you pass out you start breathing again. anyone know if that is true or a myth? anyone care to try? with a rescue person standing by of course. and video, separate person for video. unless one is extremely confident...

it seems that one in particular is proving this to be very true. i don't think anything else can come from this discussion. anything new or relevant that is.

what a load of bullshit.

well, since crt is nothing more than telling history as it was rather than what the ruling elite say it was, aka whitewashing, it absolutely needs to be adjusted for every country. most were just as racist and homophobic as in the us, but the differences are there, so the theory needs adjusted for them. and since this thread is related to the us, or at least that is what everyone is referring to, then any changes other countries make are irrelevant, but duly noted. like any theory, it can be adjusted without invalidating it. damn, jakee, you're beating me to all of them today.

what kind of moron actually believes this? race was invented around the 1600's if i recall correctly, and it is a social construct. of course it needs to be studied in a social environment. i think i just answered my own question. they have a word for that but it escapes me at the moment.

damn, these two threads are almost identical, i posted the answer to the wrong one. my bad. see how that's done?

then all you would need to do would be to heat the entire cavern to around 230*. i doubt it would work well, but i know next to nothing about that except what was in the articles. -
we deny it exists, then when it is impossible to do that, we cry about how we are being forced to give up our freedom when all we are asked to do is protect one another. you may want to know that skinheads were around long before the wall fell. but you know better than me of course. i was just there when the wall came down. fun times. and there were skinheads in the us years before that, and i assume they were in germany long before also, as i know a few of them who had been well organized by the time i got there, again, before the wall came down. like most of the other bullshit you are trying to spread, simply not true.

the parachute landing fall is designed to absorb the energy of the fall and spread it out so that you don't break things. you should always be ready to do a plf and if you don't have to, you stand up. when you gain more skills and have more experience, you can run it out if out need to take a few steps. kind of like when you throw your pilot chute, you should always be ready to have nothing come out and be ready to deal with the emergency you have. if you are always prepared to deal with an emergency, you will take less time to react and hypothetically be more prepared with the proper emergency procedures. always be ready for things to go south, even if 99% of the time or more they don't. you'll thank yourself the time it does go south and you react instinctively and deal with it as if nothing were wrong. the way i started trash packing my new canopy had me doing this.

did you read the link where the molten salt ones have been brought down from 600* operating temp to 230*? they are still a ways off using the materials they are, but they are working on replacing the gallium chloride with cheaper alternatives. once they get that figured out (if they ever do) it will be a game changer. as they say, still at least 5-10 years away. -
i can't stand the son of a bitch and hope he rots, whether in prison or in the ground is irrelevant. having said that, he had a few good ideas i have to credit him with. one is the idea that ca can stop their forest fires by sweeping the forest. i recall that the yellowstone area natives used to do not exactly this, but managed the area well by clearing brush and debris, keeping it not only less likely to be devastated by fire, but looking nicer also. not sure if that is a myth on the reason we relocated them after stealing their land and designating a national forest there, but it sounds like something the us would do. think about how much it would cost to clear a forested area compared to the cost of losing that area plus 10 times that additionally and it may just be better. controlled burns used to be a thing and are proven to work as well. either of these two options could save millions or more annually along with the lives that go with the fires. he also made it a felony for animal abuse if i recall. i think there were some other things as well, but they escape me now.

not sure where your lion batteries come from, but mine hold power for days at a time in some cases, with very little loss. also, if you could just cut and paste so the links to the info stayed and we could read them, that would be great. i'm sure i can find it, but it would make it easier on everyone. interesting as hell if it actually works. the salt batteries i read about last year are also a great innovative idea that i haven't heard anything else about. time to go on a battery research sidetrack. thanx for the info to get me started. anyone want to read the full article, pretty interesting for sure. wall street journal has a paywall on theirs. the sodium batteries have been tested and working for eight months now if anyone wants to look at this one. -
yet i still have not read anything you have written on the subject which signifies that you have any idea what is contained inside crt other than things others have written, aka second hand information. you can present all the summaries others have written that you like, that does not change that fact. so until you have actually done your research, you have no idea what you are talking about, regardless of who or what you cite. when you realize that crt boils down to just not hiding the bad parts of history as has been done for centuries, then you will realize how wrong you and everyone else is about crt. all it is is the truth about how we have treated minorities.

yet the pro-trumpers had a chance at a bi-partisan investigation and refused. no way in hell i would let one of the nut jubs on the panel after that. i recall folks begging the gop to take part in that one.

that's even worse than the first video. hell, i can take a picture of my rig like that with the right shit stuffed inside.

i don't hold anything against anyone as a group. for this one that is the last piece of the puzzle i assembled in my head to explain the racist bullshit i heard in the comments. maybe it was there, maybe not. maybe he is a racist bastard, maybe not. i don't much care about either. i'm sure the founder and admin is a nice guy, at least nice enough to have a website like this. if not, oh well, not my problem. i also don't recall seeing any posts of his spouting racist bullshit.

that explains it.
