I envy you guys, this has always been one of my biggest dreams. To fly a F-16... Man that's got to be something. But unless my ship comes in (named Titanic, has anyone seen her?) or by some other miracle, this will remain a dream.

My sympathy and prayers to all who's been affected by this awfull event. You know, the first thing I thought was that I didn't knew anybody in NY, then it hit me: Some of you may live there or have relatives there. I do hope that each and every one of you or your relatives are save. You are all in my prayers. PS: Michele, I thank the Lord that your mom's all right.

Hey Guys, guess who's had her first flying lesson? It's awesome!!!! Seeing that we don't jump as regular as you guys overseas, I took the next best thing and started flying. At least I'm in the air!!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!

Viking, Because our plane is standing in a hanger about 500km from our dropzone. To make a long story short, it's being hired out to tourist to make more money for the club. So it's not always available, which goes for the pilot also. And the nearest dropzone from ours, where they jump everyday, is about 600km from our dropzone. And like every other skydiver I don't have the funds to go to this DZ and jump. Now we've arranged a big weekend on the 6th of October. I can't wait. Funny, just last night I dreamt about skydiving. A little terrifying, because at pull time I had trouble opening... But somehow I knew I would be allright, because I was jumping with all of you, although none of you had faces. Just the heads of your nicknames, it was hilarious!!!!

3 days, two weeks, HA!!! Try a month and a half with no jumping in sight for the next month!!!!!!! Imagine how horny I am...

Dove, Thank God you're all right. Sorry to hear about all your pain, I hope you heal up real fast. You've just inspired me to get an AAD. I'm busy negotiating a sponsorship for a rig, but I didn't add the AAD. Too expensive... Now I know that my life is worth more than U$1200-00. Thanks.

Michele, This was the exact reason I started jumping. The only only difference is, I wasn't married. And as for the thing about getting bored easily, that's me!! Can't keep my mind on anything that's not interesting me.

I'm more of a rock fan than rap and hip hop, but still there are some of these rap and hop hip songs that aren't THAT bad. My personal favourite is Bon Jovi (drroooollliiiinnnnggg) But then there's Offspring, Lincoln Park, Matchbox 20, Luciano Pavarotti (just kidding), Deff Leopard, and al kinds of techno, alternative, basically anything as long as it's good.

The blond wanted to do ice fishing all her life and decided to do some research on the subject. After extensive research she packs her fishing gear and a thermo of cuppacino and heads for the nearest frozen lake. After she'd set up her little camp she starts digging a hole in the ice. Suddenly she hears a bellowing voice from the heavens : THERE'S NO FISH UNDER THE ICE. She glances at the sky, packs up camp and move on a little further. Again she sets up camp and starts digging a hole in the ice. Again the voice from heaven: THERE'S NO FISH UNDER THE ICE. Now the blond starts to get worried. Once more she packs up camp, move on a little further, and sets up camp again. Sure thing, as she starts digging the hole in the ice the voice again bellows: THERE'S NO FISH UNDER THE ICE. The blond looks up and ask:"Is that you, Lord?" The voice replies:"NO, THIS IS THE ICE RINK MANAGER!!"

I've just received an e-mail back from Icarus. They also suggest the 150 or 170 ZP EXE, with a Decelerator reserve, as well as the Vortex 11 container. Are you physic or something?? Also the new rig doesn't have an ADD, that I'll have to pay for myself. My sponser won't cover that also. About U$$1200-00 out of my own pocket, because there's not many used rigs in Namibia/SA, those available were really USED!!! THANX.

Sorry, Geoff, I tend to forget that this is an international thread. Anyways U$$1.00 equals about R8.00. So it's about U$$2250.00. I currently have 18 jumps (progressed from S/L and will be doing my 180's next) and I try to jump at least once a month. I would've liked to jump more, but this is out of my hands. I currently jump the 210 COE-D with a Tempo reserve. I don't know what harness it is, because I rent it from my club and it never crossed my mind to ask. As I said, I weigh about 60kg

There's a remote chance that I could get a sponser for my rig. But now I don't know what to get. I'll have to buy everything from a South African ( I live in Namibia, so this is logical ) Company called Icarus Skydiving (www.icarus.co.za). Would any of you be willing to check out their website and help me on the following? What kind of canopy should I get? (I'm 1.60m tall and weigh 61kgs) And which reserve? Which container is the best? I budgeted the sponser for about R18000-00, jumpsuit (R850-00) and alti (R1500-00) included. Thanx.

C'mon people, even the most experienced skydiver can make a mistake. We're only human. I know a few swoopgods who misjudged themselves pretty often, and had to deal with it.

Paddy, One of my friends used to work on a Nature Reserve Lodge when he got an offer to go and work as a camera man on a DZ at the coast. He started skydiving at a very young age, when he had learned all that he could, he began playing around with cameras. Now he's the luckiest devil I know. He's got a job taking video footages of tadem jumps as well as still photographs. He gets paid to jump!! How lucky can one guy get?

My friend has a Red/Black Canopy, and it looks stunning, especially since his jumpsuit match. He looks so, so, so,..... What's the word I'm looking for?? As if he is the king of the DZ... almost.... something like that!
