It depends on the situation. What about giving a hipothetical (spelling?) situation? Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  4. When I was a kid my mom gave me pajamas with the slogan : Anything boys can do, girls can do better!! Over here there's mainly just male skydivers, so I wanted to get into skydiving just to see why women don't do it. Got hooked, still am the only female in my club. (Keep the jokes to yourself!!!!) And I'm scared to death of heights!!! Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  5. "Because most men are too stupid to know what a clit and a G-Spot are??" ROTFLMAO If you only knew how true your answer is. For me heaven is being loved by the one that I love. Falling through the sky, friends, family, parties, falling through the sky..... Did I mention falling through the sky? Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back

  10. I had such an interesting weekend and had to buy beer. And since none of you were there, I'm buying a virtual round of beer for everyone. I did a tandem dive with one of my friends on Saturday. No it wasn't because I suddenly got scared, but as a favour to him. He recently got his TM rating and needed a someone with jumping experience to do his first dive here in the North. And since I'm the smallest skydiver on the DZ I voluntered. What a weird feeling... Having a person on your back and not a rig!! Then I jumped my brand new alti for the first time. And passed my 180 turns and finally had a run-out landing for the first time on my home dz. So, who else had to buy beer? Oh... I finally had my initiation on Saturday, 24 jumps later but who cares? There was a guy who had 99 jumps that were initiated with me. Needless to say, he did a naked on Sunday. May I remark that he had a very nice ass??!! Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  11. Just like FFPM, it's not for me. Keep your friends your friends, for if the relationship hits the rocks, that person's not going to be a friend any more. You have to work out for yourself if it's worth the risk of losing a friend to gain a (temporaly) lover. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  12. Congrats!! Many happy jumps with the "new" used gear.
  13. My condolences and prayers to all his family and friends. Blue Skies... Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  14. Marc, The Teardrop Superfly are manufactured by PISA, South Africa, under license to Thomas Sports Equipment. You can e-mail Dave Macrea at pisakzn@icon.co.za. Hope this helps. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  15. >Why are you planning on going with a 170ZP main, but an F111 150 reserve? Why not go with the Tempo 170 reserve instead of the 150? Do you want to land a smaller canopy than you have ever jumped before in a very tight area after getting under reserve at 800ft due to a canopy collision at 1200ft? IMO, too many people jump a reserve that is too small for them - ESPECIALLY if they have never flown a canopy that small..< Aviatrr, You have a good point there. What I was thinking was the size of the container with 2x 170's packed into it. I have a very small, narrow build. I worry that the container will be to bulky and big for my build. And I have been told that I actually should be flying a 135 according to my weight and build. Would a 150 reserve really be such a bad idea? I really need all the advice and opinions I can get. I haven't ordered the gear yet, but must do so before Wednesday, we will be having a price increase. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  16. AM, We jump only once a month (long story) and you're lucky if you get 2/3 loads to jump. We're a very small DZ and only 10 active skydivers. Our plane is on another DZ where it's used more regulary, making more money for our club. So we have one weekend a month to jump and not enough $$$ for more than maybe 2/3 jumps. I don't think that I will be ready for a Hornet in 100 jumps. And I have to buy gear now, for I have a sponsor and can not tell him to safe it for a later date. Bad Spot

I saw this on Reality TV - When good pets go bad. It was hilarious and if you listen carefully you can hear the cameraman laughing. The rest of that spesific program was sad and shocking. People putting fighting bulls' horns on fire and letting them loose in town, or putting steeds in a confined space to battle it out. One of the clips even had a lion attack the journalist interviewing the trainer. When she sat down next to lion you could see that the animal was going to attack. Another clip showed how a circus bear attack a director of the TV station and later on the circus manager. Luckily he had that leather thing strapped over his mouth, otherwise.... BYE-BYE! 18. Dale, I did consider the Hornet and spoken at length to my instructor. And seeing that he's also my jumpmaster and knows my style, we decided on the ZP. I don't mind the waiting period, I just want to be save. And after carefull consideration I decided that the ZP would be my safest choice. So it'll be the ZP 170 Main, 150 Tempo Reserve and a Vortex II container with hiprings. Other spesifications will be a collapsible pilot chute, throw-out BOC and a 3 riser system. Anything else I should consider? Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  19. Rob, He had a Heatwave 150, recently switched to a 135 Stilleto (I think). He lives at sealevel, where my landings are perfect. I live about 4000ft above sealevel and here I have a problem with my landings. I'm beginning to think that I should move to the coast. No seriously, I think that I flare to late up here. 20. They require a 50% deposit right away (when the order is placed). Then I expect the rest when they ship it to you. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  21. "Man its bad enough all the thing s you have to learn to jump outa a plane let alone all the thing to learn when buying a canopy !!!!! " I know how you feel! Better luck next time. Post pics when you get your gear!
  22. He's not so bad, just much more experienced. He jumps everyday, it's his work. As he sees it I won't be able to sell the ZP later on and from his point of view he thinks it's a much safer canopy in turbulence than the ZP. (But from what I heard and read that is not true) He's also concerned about the toggle pressure because I'm so small, but I do some weight training in my aerobics class, so I feel that sould be no problem for me. We did agree to go with the 170 though. Some people wanted me to get a 135!!! Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  23. PISA is the Manufacturer, Icarus buys it from Pisa and sells it to you for a few dollars more. I recommend you contact Pisa. They qouted me on a Hornet 170 SA Rand 5250-00, if I'm correct it should be around $500-00, but I'm not sure about the exchange rate. I think it's 12:1(?) Just as an example: Pisa is also the manufacturer of the Heatwave. Icarus quoted me R6500-00 (app. $550) and Pisa quoted R5700-00 (app. $470). That's almost a R1000-00 difference. I almost made the same mistake. Would've paid a R3000-00 (app. $250) too much. Try and contact them, they are really helpfull and friendly!
  24. lazerq2, Congrats!!! Mine is on it's way as well!!! Just wondering if you did some shopping around? Manny's from Icarus, right? There's also Chute Shop (where my gear is coming from, cheaper than Icarus) where you could talk to Mari. (e-mail : chute@mweb.co.za) And then there's PISA (they are the manufacturer of the Hornet) where you could talk to Dave. (e-mail : pisakzn@icon.co.za) Mmmaaaannnnn, I hate waiting..... Is it here yet..? [laught] Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back
  25. My instructor told me last night that I must jump the 210 COE-D for 20-30 odd more jumps before he'll put me on the 185 ZP. When I've done about 20-30 more jumps on the ZP with stand up landings or running it out, he'll consider switching me to my own 170 ZP EXE.
