I've been talking to every one from the instructor to the camera man to every other skydiver I could find. And it's literally a 50/50 between these two canopies. Everyone I talked to, knows me and my history in skydiving. I can't seem to find the treads mentioning this, please guys, I need help. I only have one week left before I have to decide. Could I please have your opinions on elliptical and square canopies? I've heard a lot about the elliptical's off heading openings? Is it true? And does the elliptical handle turbulance more effectively than the square? As some of you know, I'm getting my own gear and I don't know if I should get a elliptical or a square. It's a toss up between the Heatwave elliptical and the ZP EXE square. I'm still on student status (21 jumps), and not quite as experienced as I would like to be. I started jumping after I've met my b/f. When I told him that I was going to do it, he told me to go ahead and have fun, but the day of the jump was totally another story!!! He was seeing all kinds of signs for me not to jump. But I still did. And when he saw the comanderie, joking and laughing after the jump he was jealous!!!! And forbid me to ever jump again. He was jealous because I was the only female jumper (still am), and the guys where kissing and hugging me, congratulating me on a very good first jump. And it's not like I didn't try and talk him into jumping with me. And that's why I dumped him, not because he was a whuffo, but because he almost took away the only thing that ever made sense. Now I date a skyguy and I'm happier than I've ever been. No doubt, we do have our differences, and we do want to bash each others heads in sometimes, but as far as skydiving is concerned: It's HEAVEN. If I ever have to date another guy, and it so happens that he's a whuffo, it won't matter as long as he doesn't try to stop me from skydiving. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back

I so wish that I could take part in J.F.T.C!!! But there's just NO way I'll get the money together for a plane ticket, nor do I have a credit card, nor does the bank want to give me a loan. If I could raise money by flashing my ( * )( * ) for Clay.... But he'll have to pay much more than $1, hey? My niece had breast cancer, luckily she's been clean for quite some time now. But I will think of you guys and galls up there, and spread the word here, maybe someday I could organise a J.F.T.C-Boogie, just have to speak to some people at the DZ... Where I'm from..... warm enough all year round, perfect weather for jumping, except (natuarally) on rainy days, which is not THAT often. The coldest it ever got here was between 10-15 degrees C. (Sorry, don't know the F) All we do is put on a long sleeved shirt underneath the jumpsuit, and you're covered against the cold.

My mom is so scared of heights, she doesn't even wear high heels, serious. There was no way a child of hers was going to jump out of a plane at 10000ft! And what made it worse was that I was her "baby" (the last of 4 daughters). Luckily for me, I had my dad's support. He used to fly two seaters. He came to watch me jump whenever he could. I asked a friend of mine's company to sponsor a rig, but they turned me down saying that if I fell to my death with it it will be their fault and their name (oh duh, wonder how they came up with that one?). My friend saw my dissapointment and offered to sponser my rig himself,saying he doesn't have any family or dependants, and he does have the money (he has two farms in Namibia, as well as one in Germany). I didn't have to do demo jumps, although he did come and watch me jump, once...! I get to choice the design. And he doesn't want any thing in return!!! Just for us to remain friends and for me not to get hurt while jumping the gear. I'm getting a 170 Heatwave Main(SA manufacture, eliptical canopy), 150 Tempo Reserve and a Vortex II Container, with matching jumpsuit and Kitbag. Hang onto Heaven, when hell is on your back

Last night I got the best news ever..... I got a sponsor for my new gear! I'll be ordering it in about 2 weeks time, but then I'll have to wait for 14 weeks for delivery. But it doesn't matter, I"VE GOT NEW GEAR ON THE WAY, WOOOOHHHHHOOOOO!!! My color combinations will be black, neon orange and neon green. How come May seems so far away now?
