All men have measured their dicks at some time or another. Thus far, we have four liars.

Undoubtedly. Included in that learning process will be what Ford learned in the 50's about market research. Ford did extensive research, in the 50's, on what people wanted in an automobile. The masses responded they wanted a no frills, sound automobile without all the frills and extra horsepower. Ford listened and responded ...with the Edsel. ;) Vance Packard wrote a series of books about market research and a common thread is if you merely ask people what they want, they will give you answers that are deemed socially acceptable or ones they think you want to hear ...then go buy something else that truly appeals to their real wants, needs and desires. So guys, don't go all Edsel with the responses here :)

We have the capacity for free will. Do we use it? We frequently do not, for to pierce the barriers of illusion and delusion requires a mind either exceptionally balanced ...or exceptionally deranged. If the latter, is that free will?

UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR

I saw it on cable (Sundance channel). I just checked. It's available on Netflix and Blockbuster. -
Something I don't get: fighting/wrestling/boxing
flyclearjohn replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
Never felt uneasy, just didn't care for it ...till I discovered Aikido :) "Aikido focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement." It's martial arts with a sense of humor. -
UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR

I'm in the process of gathering information. I must admit, while I anticipated a wide range of discussion here, I rather hoped that seeing the film would be a prerequisite. If not readily available for your viewing (I saw it on the Sundance channel) a google or yahoo search on the title is a good start. -
I think I prefer neither. I like it when there is such a strong mutual attraction that you can just look at each other and know what's up, no need for a chase on either part. Why? I guess I don't find chasing someone or being chased to be much fun... Hmm... maybe it means that he has met his match. I don't have a lot of experience as chaser or chasee. I met Susan at the campus grill, just happend to be next to each other in line. I looked in her eyes, she looked in mine ...we were seldom apart for the next 37 years. I miss you, my love.

UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR
flyclearjohn replied to flyclearjohn's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, if they only could of stretched it to 90 :) Aside from that, what did you think of the film? I really would like more data about some of the claims, myself. Other issues to the side, how do you feel about the quotes at the end of the film on the nature of patriotism? -
Hmm, I came to this forum to ask pretty much the same question. In reading about the recent fatality in Perris where a skydiver was on a freefly jump with about 60 jumps over the past year. My first thought was "too soon" but I don't know anything about freeflying so I thought I would ask. For the responses I read here, may I assume that it would not be viewed as inappropriate?

As for which carbon steel they're made out of, they don't say, but Strider has an unconditional lifetime guarantee. You mail it back to them and they'll fix what needs to be fixed or replace it and of course they'll resharpen it for free. As for the actual dimensions I couldn't say for sure but I believe its very close to a jack the ripper but about an inch and a half shorter. I could be wrong there. Looks like a good knife but I doubt it is any better than a 'Jack' when it comes to doing the intended job. I've lost a few Jacks over the years and was unhappy with spending $20 to replace them. I've be quite sorrowful over losing one of these babies.

UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR
flyclearjohn replied to flyclearjohn's topic in Speakers Corner
I watched it last night. Now any reasonable individual already knew that President Bush was a bit less than forthright in pushing justification (oh, come on!, you know it's true) for invading Iraq This film was, indeed, devasting in indicting Bush.. I do wonder how fairly it presented it's 'facts', however. I edited the original post to eliminate the Ted Kennedy comment at the end to hopefully (yeah, right) minimize the "all liberals are _____" folks and focus comments on the content of th film. -
UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR

UNCOVERED: THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT THE IRAQ WAR directed by Robert Greenwald YEAR 2004 56 MINS, Color Filmmaker Robert Greenwald, creator of the 2000 election expose UNPRECEDENTED, considers the Bush administration's case for the Iraq War and finds among the alarmist rhetoric little supporting evidence to back it up. Revealing news clips and interviews with intelligence veterans – including Scott Ritter, Clare Short and Joseph Wilson – make the case that the Bush administration misled the world with dubious statements, empty innuendoes and unchallenged untruths. Who has seen this captivating film? Comments? -
HELP!!! How do you train for a 3 day, 60 mile walk?
flyclearjohn replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Hehe, I would hire someone to walk for me. :) 60 Miles! Not this old fart. -
Lot of bulk, lot of money. What are the dimensions What's is made of? How long will the edge stay sharp? Can you sharpen the edge?
-
They are tasty ...but why would you assume it was a man? :) John

Well said. However, the original poster has two years in. I'm willing to bet he has paid good money for everything in skydiving from day one, as more and more skydivers have. Do we really expect them to view our traditions valid when every time they turn or want to learn there is someone there with their hand out? Fair payment for services rendered. Well, perhaps so, but can we really expect to have it both ways? John

First coach jump??? I'd not include that on the list. John
-
Nah, it truly sucked/

I seldom see the 'oldies' doing it (unless you're calling the guys with ten or so years and 1-2k jumps, oldies (everything is relative). I do see it happening with this level of oldie more and more frequently. Most of the really ancient oldies are not happy with thoughts of what this is doing to youthful enthusiasm. John

Of the two, I like the first one. Enjoy! John

I suspect the bureaucracy for managing this would be prohibitive. John
