  1. I think you mean a 206, a 208 is a Cessna Caravan Lance
  2. I've got a few Grandfather has about 2000 jumps, and still is an active jumper (at 80 years old) Grandmother has about 200 jumps, all of them done in the earily 60's. She hasn't jumped since 1969 I think. Dad has 4000 jumps, and still jumps some. Mom has about 100 all done in the late 70's, early 80's. She hasn't jumped since 1984 (when I was born). My half sister has around 70 or so...again hasn't jumped since 1982 or so. Lance
  3. The full video (with him getting up, and walking away is on skydivingmovies.com, under the swooping section I think) there is also the slow-mo version on there as well.
  4. Only about 200 from May-September, lowest # of jumps in a summer for me in a long time. But I think I only paid for 10 of them
  5. Murphy! I got more tandems than I know what to do with for this summer. If your still doing tandems, we could use the help. Plus Its about time you came back to the ONLY COOL DZ in the area. Let me know whats up. Lance
  6. That was me! I didn't get a very good pic of you guys there, but I got a Kick ass pic of you and Vern swooping during the competition. It was taken with a buddy of mine's camera, I'll give him a call and have him e-mail it directly to you, or get him to e-mail it to me, and I'll pass it on. Lance
  7. I know of a Kick Ass NON uspa DZ in Maryland. http://www.parachutesAREfun.com Lance
  8. I have. I hooked a T-10 Round to my Javelin XRS. We packed the T-10 in a tandem bag, with a static line attached to the bag. I held it [the tdm d-bag] in my hand, did a poised exit off the C-182, and let the bag go. It opened great. After a few minutes I cut it away, and deployed my PD 113R. Lost the freebag on the jump. I did it on a day when there were no students, just a few experienced jumpers. btw, does a T-10 count as a 'perfectly good' main? Lance
  9. Does Skydive SoBe fly the Otter during the week? I'll be down that way some time after christmas. Lance
  10. 19, 1200+ jumps here. Started skydiving at 16, made 400 jumps my first year. Got my AFF rating a month after I turned 18. Lance
  11. Is that the same Otter that used to be Green striped? The one in this pic? http://www.airliners.net/open.file/163439/M/ I
  12. Just wondering who's Otter that is (the white with red strips that you have a pic of). It looks really familiar, just can't place where I've seen it. thanks Lance
  13. Very well said! All of the posts by NewClearSports Clearly show a definite lack of knowledge, experience, and an inability to learn. In one post, he's asking how to do 270's, now he's saying downsizing is a good idea so you don't get complacent. Sounds really stupid to me. Lance http://www.parachutesAREfun.com
  14. This aircraft (N229YK) is also listed in the DZ.com classifieds under aircraft. For a mere $850,000.00 it can be yours! Lance
  15. I made about 400 my first season. About 330 of them were between June, and November. Lance
  16. I really need to get my own base rig so I can stop borrowing stuff, I found a good deal on a Reactor 3 container. Anyone have any good/bad to say about them? Lance
  17. How do I get a hold of a Demo?? Something in the 95-110 range. Lance
  18. A year or so ago, a buddy of mine (jumping a Stiletto 120 at around 1.8ish) had me static line him, to see how much of a different the canopy flew without the d-bag and pilot chute. It worked well, but with a few line twists. as Ian said, on most static lines, the d-bag tends to twist, causing line twists. That is the big down fall, especially with hp canopies. I've often thought of taking an old worn out d-bag, and pilot chute, and using it as a free bag. Only problem, is retrieving it (if possible) after every jump. But, really, unless your in a competion or something, I don't really see a need. Lance
  19. Heres a little something. Still doesn't have competor standings http://www.uspa.org/news/current_news/worldcup.htm
  20. Oh yeah, one more. About 6 months or so ago, I was doing an AFF level 1. At about 7,000 I saw the girls shoe fly off. After she pulled at 5,500, I turned, tracked, and opened, only to see her shoe fly by my canopy, and fall in a small pond, landing about 3 feet from two guys fishing in a small boat. The shoe made a huge splash. I bet they had to be wondering what the heck is going on.
  21. One time after exiting a Cessna 182 at 11,500, my goggles blew off. No big deal. When I landed I walked by one of our pinic tables, and there were my goggles, sitting right on top. Some people saw them land there, but thought that some one tosed them there from the other side of manifest as a joke. Pretty good spot! Lance
  22. I guess all I was trying to say was that your body language in the harness shows that your not at all relaxed, but the opposite. Your legs appear to be very ridge, and pointing directly at the ground. Your hands (during the flair) are out in front of you, not in a relaxed position at all. This approach reminds me of what I see when I see someone with 100 jumps go from a 230, to a more hp canopy, until they get used to it. I've found one of the keys to skydiving, weather it be flat flying, freeflying, style and acc, swooping, or just about discipline is RELAXATION. I think tree summed it up best when he said "...and your body language says "oh god, please help me survive another one." This is not a personal attack as I have never met you, but I'm just trying to figure out the obvious. lance
  23. We are currently considering putting a 3 Blade prop on our 1957 Cessna 182. I have heard good and bad things about the 3 blade prop on the earlier model C-182's. I was wondering if anyone here who has flowen, or owned a earily model C-182 with a 3 blade has any good or bad things to say? Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Lance
