  1. I think Harry will still be running the skydiving end. the new "owner" just bought the airport, with plans to develop it into houses in about 5-10 years. He's not a skydiver, so I think harry will still handle that end of the business. Lance
  2. You could check out Skydive Maryland. Only about 20 minutes from OC, 1/2 mile off of route 50. 3 Cessna 182's, HUGE landing area. PM me for details. [url]http://www.parachutesarefun.com Lance
  3. Nope wasn't us, were not anywhere near the Dullas holding pattern. Next time you might want to do alittle more research before bashing some one elses business. Lance
  4. I had 1,000 right around my 18th birthday, but the Mullins kids make that look like nothing. Lance
  5. Warren Eichorn of Parachute Equipment Corp (PEC) is the only repair center in the US for the FT-50. He has always been more than fair with repair prices. http://www.paraequip.com/ 1-800-526-2822 Lance
  6. Me and a couple of buddies are looking for a DZ in the Northeast where we can make 50 jumps monday-friday (10 a day during the week). Type of aircraft doesn't matter, just as affordable as possible. Any suggestions? Lance
  7. The Skydive Texas you are referring to was located near Decatur TX, and closed a few months ago. There is a small Cessna DZ further down south near Austin that goes by Skydive Texas, or Texas skydiving center. Lance
  8. And why is that so funny? I guarantee WE will out jump ANYONE at delmarva in any discipline...name the time place, and event, and we'll be there. Lance http://www.parachutesarefun.com
  9. Just calling it like I see it. Lets face it, skydive delmarva is a joke! Lance
  10. hmmmm....first time I think I've ever heard Delmarva referred to as "cool" Lance
  11. I've never personally flown a Stiletto 89, but have talked with several people who have, and they say its a amazing canopy, and in many ways fly's "different" than the larger stilettos. I jump a velocity, and I love it, but I have to say my Stiletto 107 is by far my favorite canopy. The Stiletto is a beautiful parachute. Lance
  12. Any one know if thats true? If so I'm there! Lance
  13. I've never heard of a PT6-24. Most westwinds either have PT6-20's (same engines you seen on "regular" King Air's, and Twin Otters), or PT6-27's which most "super" Otters have. Lance
  14. You could check out Skydive Maryland. About 1 hr 15 mins from Annapolis, and about 20 Minutes to Ocean City. 3 Cessna DZ, huge 50 + acre landing area, nothing fancy as far as facilities http://www.parachutesarefun.com
  15. I like Rig #1 better, but in 300 jumps rig #2 is going to look a lot better, because the white usually doesn't stay "white" for too long I think the Canopy is kinda ugly (you asked) Lance
  16. Jump 950 (or around there). Velo 90, line twists. Main landed in big power lines (power company got it down undamaged and for free). Lance
  17. Give Skydive Cross Keys/Aire-Express a call. They have 3 Caravan's, and frequently lease one or two. http://www.aire-express.com Lance
  18. I've got an extra Strong Tandem rig with SET 400 I'd consider selling....I'll PM you with more info. Lance
  19. Again, I'm still trying to figure out where I said anything about you, your kids, or your DZ??? Can someone help me out? Lance
  20. Wait a minute, where in my other two posts did I say anything about where your kids should or should not be? All I did was post my view of growing up on a DZ, and in the respect, I'd say I have a lot more experience than you. But I didn't tell you where to take your kids, I posted my view, and you get all upset, telling us all how great your DZ is, and that your kids need to be there. Well, to be honest, I could really care less where your kids are, or what they are doing. I posted my experiences, and you take that as me telling you where you kids should be? Get a life. I think Ron's last post pretty much summed it all up. Lance BTW: I do know Marc very well, and I have no doubt that he runs a good, clean dropzone.
  21. Well, 6 months in the sport, and 78 jumps, kinda seems like you need to get alittle more experence before making these judements.
  22. I was one of those kids who grew on the DZ. I practically lived there most of my life. I gotta say there is good and bad, but from experience, I don't know if I would want my kids growing up on a DZ. As Ron is saying, your exposed to A LOT! By the time I was 8 I'd seen all kinds of drugs, sex, and even death up close. When you grow up on a DZ your around adults, and adult situations 24-7. No matter what the dropzone, you will see a little of everything, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And you grow up quick, you have to, everyone around you is at least twice your age, if you act like a "kid" then no one will put up with you (like Kelly said). I guess its one thing if your Kid is at the DZ one Saturday a month, but when your their 24-7 its a totally different story. I made my first jump at 15, and had over 1,000 jumps (and an AFF rating) before I graduated high school. I'm now only 19, but I feel like I have seen/been exposed too WAY more than your "average" 19 year old. I don't think that many normal 15 years old should jump, but when you grow up around it, its totally different story. Lance
  23. Speaking of the OCC guys, does anyone know if they have jumped? I was watching an epsoide of OCC and they had a shot of Paul Jr and Sr in their office. On the desk in the back ground was 2 pictures of guys exiting what looked like an Otter. ???? Lance
  24. Hi, we currently have lexan roll up doors installed on our Cessna 182's. We've been using a sold sheet of lexan, and putting the metal bars for strength (like a King Air door). Recently we've had a lot of problems with the doors cracking, and in some cases breaking when being opened and closed. I know that most Otters, and Caravan's have lexan door that are "pieced" together (not a sold sheet of lexan) I was wondering if any one had a pic of two of that type of door that we could use a a reference for making a better door. Any and all info is greatly appreciated! Thanks lance
