Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, and Glen Ord are all readily availabe around here and usually around 20-35 a bottle. One scotch I had whileTDY to France was William&Lawson. I honestly can't recall if it was a single or not. I haven't seen it here in the states at all. Easy Does It

Glenlivet is my first single-malt love! It's a great scotch and has is really pretty affordable as far scotches go. 16 year old is going to be very pleasant, too. Around here I can find it for about 20 -25 bucks a bottle, sometimes even less. Easy Does It

I beg to differ when it comes to cask-strength scotches - It is not filtered or anything when bottled - The flavor is way overpowering to the point of being repellant. Even Macallan themselves reccomend it, inspite being 17 years old. Easy Does It
-
It's a real challenge drinking it, you know being a little older and having to add a slpash of water since it's cask-strength, but I think I can handle - (Pardon me while I take another sip-) Easy Does It

I'm not talking that Chivas Regal or Crown Royal swill either- One of my vendors got me a bottle of 17-year old cask-strength Macallan single malt! mmm - Tasty!! Normally I drink Glenlivet Any other single-malt fans out there? Easy Does It

Spectre 150- Edited to add - I've got an ad in the classifieds - Easy Does It

Yeah I'm here to - For the duration! Easy Does It

I appreciate the offer - The fellow in Georgia has given me his riggers info, and then some (trim specs, etc-). However, the canopy in Puerto Rico is a Spectre 170, (preferred) and the canopy in Georgia is a Sabre 170. I'm So Confused!

And there is another fellow in Georgia who is interested too - He is being more pro-active, providing pictures and such. Easy Does It

Ankle Braces & injury recovery??
Dumpster replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I really won't know for sure until it begins. I heard stories where it hurts worse than the injury itself and others where it wasn't any problem at all. It certainly depends on the person and the injury. In the meantime I'm flexing things what I can and so on. It just so nice to be rid of the cast! As an aside - I'm glad I have good insurance. I got the statement from my insurance company today - I owe ZERO bucks on the $12,000 hospital visit. So far the doctor's office has cost me a whopping $18.20. I was afraid it would cost much more. Whew! Easy Does It -

Ankle Braces & injury recovery??
Dumpster replied to Dumpster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Cast came off yesterday. My foot is ugly. Still pretty swollen. Today I'm flexing it all the time, and putting a little weight on it form time to time. The heel feels weak and sore - Ligament damage I figure. Still a little bruised. Physical terrorism starts in a week. Easy Does It -
Thoughts on tunnel training for a new skydiver?
Dumpster replied to hexadecimal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Book yourself an hour at the Orlando tunnel in March or April, just before you start jumping. You don't need to book a camp, just let the folks at the tunnel know what your plans are. By the time you finish AFF you'll be jumping like some one with many more jumps. My daughter is a prime example of tunnel time before AFF. She did an hour before her first jump and it made a huge world of difference. It's very good stuff. Easy Does It -
Wear a pair of jeans and a heavy long sleeve t-shirt under your jumpsuit, and a good pair of gloves. Winter wieght football gloves work well. Don't overdo it. You don't want to break a sweat on the way to altitude. You might feel a slight chill. Add another t-shirt perhaps. You'll be having too much fun to realize you're cold, anyway. Easy Does It

Can any one preapre for absolutely all possible scenarios in all possible situations at all times? If it were possible, then all accidents could be prevented at all times. Sometimes I think that is what people expect. It's quite obvious that suicide bombing is quickly evolving into a crude but very effective weapon. A horrible beauty in the simple effciency of this weapon. Yes indeed the warrior is commited to the ideology. Build any fence. - It can be scaled. Look at the way a squirrel will find his way to a bird feeder. When one comes to a cliff - Sometimes the only progressive step - Is a step backwards. We're on thier turf. No one knows it better than they do. I'm no expert, but I belive one of the first rules of war is - Know your enemy. A history professor once told me - in war, the only person you can trust, is your enemy. I still struggle with the truth in that. But it is a truth. Pardon me - I've been drinking 17 year old Macallan tonite. This veteran is getting kinda philosphical. I messed in quite a few tents during Desert Storm - Served by Saudi nationals. Easy Does It

Chin up - Good vibes to you, Grandma, and all your family. I went through a similiar situation at the tender age of 15 - Live Bravely-! Easy Does It

Simple respect for each other and each others' privacy. No, I don't think it's inportant for two married people to have access to each others' email. We've been married for five years and together for seven. It's really not a big deal to us. I don't understand why it should be to anyone. Never been an issue, not even close. Sharon and I have our separate email accounts and passwords, and ne'er the twain shall meet. I kinda look at email like regular mail - There is stuff either of us can open, such as the utility bills or the bank or credit card statements. Then there is stuff adressed specifically to her or myself, which we don't open, mindful of each others privacy. Email I feel is personal, I have my accounts and she hers. I have no desire to snoop through her email and she has never indicated a desire to look at mine. If I get something I think she should look at it I'll forward it to her or call her over to the machine and ask her to scope it out. I have no desire to read what she says about me to her friends, or what her horoscope is, or whatever. She could care less what kind of drivel I share with my friends, or how many companies are tryin to sell me Viagra, or the latest deals on parts for my Harley. Easy Does It
