  1. Sounds like a plan - I hope my trip to Rantoul doesn't get cancelled again this year! Do you normally jump at Ottawa or Hinckley? Easy Does It
  2. We'll form the Titanium Fellowship! Or we could call the the Hardware Club? Easy Does It
  3. Thanks so much, Dave!! Y'know, I REALLY need to get my but down to Austin again sometime - I haven't been there before they shut Bergstrom AFB down - Easy Does It
  4. I don't have many details at all - I haven't been able to speak with the doc personally and getting info from Mom has been difficult. As I learn more I'll be sure to post. Easy Does It
  5. Mine rattles quite nicely - All those dead brain cells shaking around - Easy Does It
  6. My 13 year old son, Esau, is going under the knife a week from Thursday. (March 3rd) He lives with his Mom in Western NY, and will be getting surgery to correct a "lazy eye". We are all hoping it's 100% successful, since he has a keen interest in learning to fly, and to skydive. He'll be at Children's Hospital in Buffalo just for a day. Catch is - If they put him out, there's a 50% chance of success, if he stays awake, it's much better, almost 100%. I don't want to push him to choose staying awake. He does understand the odds are better, though. The young man is naturally a bit nervous, and I'm sure he'll feel the vibes coming his way. I'd like to thank you all in advance - -Lenny
  7. Time to bump it up again - PT is over, I still excercise the ankle - I'll be hitting the gym instead of going to PT. (Time to get serious about some fat-burning cardio - I gained about 10 pounds while convalescing, and was a bit bigger in the waist than I'd like to be to start with.) There's one screw holding the tib and fib together that the sawbones wants to talk to about, debating wether or not to take it out. I've been back to work about a month now, and being on my feet alot is getting easier. The ankle is stiff in the AM, but limbers up fairly quickly. I'm able to bound up and down the stairs and climb ladders without much discomfort at all. I sent my rig in for assembly, and my "new" (upsized) canopy is at PD getting an overhaul and clean bill of health. So my first jump back will be in a brandy-new rig and a bigger canopy. The canopy is the same type (Spectre) , but a 170 vs. a 150. I plan on making that first jump on Safety Day, weather permitting. I've been to the DZ a couple times, and went out to the "scene of the crime" - Just a bunch of grass. I get nervous when I think about that first jump back- But I feel I gotta get back on the horse. Some of the students I coached last fall are looking forward to jumping with me again. I love it!! Easy Does It
  8. I'll be taking my container and reserve up to my rigger tomorrow for him to assemble. (New container arrived about a month after I busted myself-) My main is at PD right now, and will return with the risers attached. I plan on jumping on Safety Day, March 12th.
  9. I just sent mine down Monday, and am not worried about the quality of service I'll receive. PD does rock in a wonderful way! Easy Does It
  10. 35.2 from my driveway to the DZ. 45 minutes depending on traffic, but never more than an hour. Easy Does It
  11. Good post - My new Wings was delivered just before Christmas and I haven had it assembled yet- (still recovering from Novenbers' Tib/Fib fracture) I'll take a look at it now and see if I spy the same potential problem. Thanks for the heads-up! Easy Does It
  12. I'm in the same boat myself - Busted my left ankle (Plate and 8 screws myself) November 13th, uphill landing with light winds - Won't be jumping for at least another month, and already get nervous just thinking about it. Easy Does It
  13. Being a man myself I must say - That is the most accurate representation of a male brain I have ever seen in my entire life. Easy Does It
  14. I'm sure I will - I've met a few in other places!! It's such a strange and weird world we live in! Easy Does It
  15. I'll keep that in mind next time I run across a homicidalrapistskydiver. Easy Does It
  16. Just imagine where I'm at going back to school at the tender age of 42! I just bought a case of beer with me - We drank it in the parking lot. Easy Does It
  17. Just being skydivers we're already in a class by ourselves. Easy Does It
  18. Well this coming week or two I'll catalog what I have - PM me your contact info and when I have a list I'll email it to you. Anyone else who might like a list - PM me and I'll do the same for you! Easy Does It
  19. Yeah I was thinking ebay - I'll use the ones in terrible condition for target pratice. I think maybe a third of what I have may be in reasonable shape. I'm searching Google to see if there is a collector's organization that could give some guidance, also. Easy Does It
  20. Made a midnite jump to ring in 2004 - Our club did a midnite jump this year too but unfortuantely I wasn't able to participate. Easy Does It
  21. This post was inspired by gravityizsexy's post about the demise of VHS - I've got a few, several hundred I would guess, vinyl L.P. records. Theyve been boxed up for years and I've no idea thier condition at the moment. But on my list of stuff to do next weekend, is to drag them out and either they go to the curb or get otherwise disposed of. I'd rather get a few bucks for them then just trash 'em. But first I need to get them sorted- Any suggestions to the best way to find a buyer for theones that are still in decent shape? Easy Does It
  22. Apparently they didn't get the email!! - !!! Easy Does It
  23. Yeah that crossed my mind - but I've got the full story how other folks were screwed royal - I told them to send me a check drawn on a US bank and when that check has cleared for 30 days they'll get thier container - I don't think I'll hear back from "Byron". Easy Does It
  24. Got this email in response to the container I have up for sale - Looks familiar? Stinks like something I stepped in once. I forwarded the whole thing to abuse@dropzone.com Easy Does It
  25. We have our students do practice touches of both cutaway and reserve handles as part of thier transistion training, and I also suggest they locate thier handles again under canopy, to familiarize them with where they will be under canopy, too. Easy Does It
