  1. Hey now - At least is wasn't some big-ass snowplow on the front like them baggers - Note that the Dyna has no screen - And if it does get one it'll be some little fly screen is all. Easy Does It
  2. That's the garage of the house I just moved in to - The whole floor looks like a jigsaw puzzle. Unfortunately the tear-down and rebuild will have to wait a few years. Easy Does It
  3. The Sportster we used to own - Easy Does It
  4. Yep - I've heard a few refer to Dynas as Sportsters on Steroids. You can get 'em pretty low, shorter front fork tubes and springs, shorter rear shocks, (or offset the lower shock mount) and a thin seat, yep. Mine's got the standard suspension and thick Mustang seat, but it's still as low or lower than our 883C was. The guy who owned the bike before me put a nice wide tire on the back, and since the fender clearance wasn't there the wires for the left turn signal got chewed up. How was the gas mileage on your Dyna? Easy Does It
  5. Alot of folks agree the ride on a Dyna is better than a softtail. But a stripped- down Softy looks sooooo cool! Easy Does It
  6. Pretty much - We sold the Sporty to pay off her credit card prior to the divorce. I just couldn't live without a bike - thought about a crotch rocket then got a way sweet deal on this bike. Easy Does It
  7. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I offered to take her for a ride but all I get for an answer is "maybe sometime - - " Easy Does It
  8. I've been pulling wrenches ever since I was old enough to hold one - Then I found out how much fun electricty is, and learned how to weld because sparks and fire are cool, and I like to build things. Industrial Arts was my "major" in high school and I worked in aircraft maintenance in the Air Force. Eventually I drifted in aircraft parts management, and after I got out I went into industrial maintenance. Now I run the maintenance department for a plastics compounding company. I'm doing OK, about 55-65k a year, single, just purchased a small house, and so on. I guess I'm lucky I do what I like for a living!! Easy Does It
  9. Thanks! Nice and loud, and they crackle nicely when I let up on the throttle - The bike needs a bit of TLC and a good cleaning, but not too bad at all. It's nice being able to cruise at 70-75 MPH and not get shaken to pieces. My Sportster had a ridged-mount engine and was, well, a Sportster, so any longer than an hour or two in the saddle was tough. I met a guy a couple years back on his way to Sturgis from New Jersey on a Sporty - Now that is a tough ride! Easy Does It
  10. But not a crotch rocket - Another Harley - This one a 2000 Dyna - It's loud - It rides so much nicer than my Sporty did, too. I think I'll get 'er ready for some cross-country riding. Easy Does It
  11. 0:4:0 Saturday - Work in the AM and worked on the house a while, then got a wild hair and went out and purchased a Harley - (used) Sunday - Four jumps with Guy Wright - Tons-o-fun! Easy Does It
  12. But I LOVE the camera! Easy Does It

  14. I busted my left ankle on a botched landing, tib/fib fracture requiring a plate and 8 screws, total bill was about 20 grand, I paid maybe 500 bucks, but lost $$ due to being out of work for a few months while I healed. Really screwed up my vacation plans for the following year, as I had to use up most of my days before short-term disablilty kicked in. Fortunately, I keep a few thousand saved up, and my employer has killer medical bennies. No questions asked, and I did nothing to hide the facts. I had to fill out one of those accident form for possible third-party coverage, and I made sure I mentioned the DZ is in no way responsible for what happened. Again, no questions. Our company is self-insured and EVERYONE knows I jump, and all I heard was a bunch of good-natured ribbing. My advice, no insurance, no jumps. And always keep a few grand in the bank for emergencies. (No, a new canopy is not an emegency!!) Easy Does It

  19. So, looks like it's going to be largely unjumpable in my neck of the woods this weekend. I could spend the whole weekend working on my "new" house, but all work and no play makes Lenny a dull boy. I could really use a good night of mischief, having just finalized my divorce, purchased a house, been generally working my ass off, and so on - Anybody want to take me out and show me a good time? Easy Does It
  20. Rantoul and/or Skyfest. Never been to either. Being a single guy now, I've got no reason not to go! Easy Does It
  21. Nope - Not a skydiver - Good ideas though! Yeah I've got plans to spend alot more time at the DZ - Thinking about a vacation this summer - Don't know what I'll do yet, but I sure will enjoy it! Easy Does It
  22. Thanks Sweetie! Easy Does It
  23. Both really sweet bikes, haven't been able to do a test-ride yet, the weather here has been wet and I'm a little crunched on time this week - Hopefully this weekend!! Easy Does It
  24. One day at a time is working well - My son is going out to NY to visit his Mom and sisters for the summer, I'll have the house to myself for a whole six weeks! WooHoo! I'll actually be able to go to Rantoul this year!! double WooHoo! I've got a friend down your way, too - I might even make a trip to Orlando! Easy Does It
