Nothing wrong with automatics - Nothing wrong with standard transmissions - I've been driving both for years. I would advise an automatic for folks who alot of city/stop-n-go driving. Replacing a clutch can be expensive, and alot of folks have less-that desirable habits, i.e. riding the clutch (lead to premature throwout bearing failure) or excessive/incorrect downshifting with a standard, which leads to clutch failure. Yes downshifting saves wear on the brakes and is important when going down steep, long hills, but many of today's clutches used in passenger car and light trucks aren't built like they were years ago and can't handle a regular diet of downshifting. Now, How many of us know how to shift without a clutch (and without grinding the gearbox into hamburger - )? If you've got a well - engineered tranny, it's a great skill to have. I had a standard-shift Ranger for years, and traded it in on my automatic Tacoma. Five months later I broke my left ankle, and was/am very thankful I had an automatic. Easy Does It

:3:0 Rode all day Saturday with my friend Chuck, bar-hopping and getting caught in a few light rains - Got to the DZ around noon Sunday, made 2 coach jumps and a nine-way. Didn't get slammed by any of my openings - Ribs were OK but are still a little some from the hard opening two weeks ago. Looking forward to the upcoming weekend - Don't know why, I just have this feeling it's going to be one of my best weekends yet this summer. Easy Does It
